And Just Like That… season 3 is officially in production. While Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis have all been seen filming around New York City, fans won’t see Karen Pittman in the series again. Pittman took on the role of Nya Wallace, Miranda Hobbes’ law professor, in seasons 1 and 2, but she will not reprise the role in the upcoming season. Pittman isn’t happy about having to walk away from the show, but there is a good reason why it had to happen.
Why did Karen Pittman walk away from ‘And Just Like That…’
Karen Pittman had to let the character of Nya Wallace go. Unlike the departure of Sara Ramirez’s Che Diaz, fans are not happy to see Nya leave so soon. Pittman recently sat down with Variety and explained why she had to step away. Logistically, Pittman can’t film And Just Like That…...

When Karen Pittman calls for our early-morning interview, she’s noticeably perky for someone who wrapped filming at 2 a.m. the night before. She’s in the midst of shooting “Forever,” Mara Brock Akil’s adaptation of Judy Blume’s seminal — and controversial — 1975 novel about two teens’ first love and intimacy.
“I love it! Fingers crossed it keeps going like this for the next 20 to 30 years,” Pittman says, laughing off the tiring schedule. “I’m not a workaholic, but I’m just very committed. I’m devoted to this work. I get the chance to tell a meaningful story about where women are right now.”
In the Netflix series, Pittman plays Dawn Edwards, an upper-middle-class mother whose high-school-age son Justin (Michael Cooper Jr.) is at the center of the show’s “forever love” story.

American Idol fans are fuming about the voting and they claim that Nya should have won, but instead, she was eliminated. Actually, there has been more drama this season, and it seems that Katy Perry might not be missed after they called her out for being “cruel” to Odell Bunton Jr. She’d made him think he was out when he was really passed through by the judges.
American Idol Final 12 Elimination Makes Fans Mad
The reality TV talent show already upset a lot of people when the judges kept Kayko and sent away Abby Blake. You might recall that Abby was the original applicant and Kayko only accompanied her on the piano. Well, he got offered a ticket to Hollywood, and ultimately, the main contestant left the show before he did. So, viewers slammed the judges for that. Their angry opinions didn’t change the outcome though.

The first live coast-to-coast episode of “American Idol” Season 22 aired on Sunday, April 21 on ABC, with the Top 14 contestants performing in front of host Ryan Seacrest, judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, and guest mentor Gene Simmons. Viewers all across the nation voted 19.9 million times throughout the two-hour episode, which had a theme of “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,” and the Top 12 artists made it to the next round. In the end, the two singers who were eliminated were Nya and Jordan Anthony.
Throughout the competition, Nya sang tunes like “Wait a Minute!” (Auditions round), “Get Ready” (Showstopper round), “The Best” (Top 24 round), “Georgia on My Mind”, “Water” and “I Say a Little Prayer” (Top 14 round). The 28-year-old Broadway performer from Manhattan, New York was an early favorite on the show, but the judges had to save her last week when she placed in the bottom — never a good sign.

Miranda Hobbes was the first of her pals to leave Manhattan and buy a house. In season 6 of Sex and the City, she gave up her classic Manhattan apartment and moved to Brooklyn to give her marriage and son room to grow. Decades later, Miranda was still living in the same Brooklyn home when she decided to leave married life behind. While Steve Brady and Miranda Hobbes have only briefly discussed the Brooklyn home they share in And Just Like That…, we can’t help but wonder just how much it is worth today.
Where is Miranda and Steve’s Brooklyn brownstone located?
Steve Brady and Miranda Hobbes purchased their Brooklyn abode in 2006, just as Brady Hobbes was getting mobile. While the duo never stated where the home was located, outside of Miranda uttering the word “Brooklyn” with disdain, fans have always assumed they lived in one of the borough’s trendier neighborhoods.

The Top 14 were revealed in a live two-hour broadcast of “American Idol” Monday night. Host Ryan Seacrest called the Top 20 to the stage, one-by-one, telling them if America had voted them through or they’d have to be saved by judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Each contestant sang regardless of the results, and in our recent poll viewers named Abi Carter the best of the night. Watch her stirring rendition of “My Mind” by Yebba above.
By the end of the evening Ajii, Odell Benton Jr., Jennifer Jeffries, Kennedy Reid, Mackenzie Sol and Quintavious were eliminated from the competition. My guest this week is Karen Pittman. She’s hit the headlines lately for her reported departure from the Max show And Just Like That…, and in this episode of 20 Questions on Deadline she explains why she won’t be back for Season 3.
Leaving the show was, Pittman said, purely due to a scheduling issue with her new upcoming Netflix series Forever and work on Season 4 of Apple TV+ series The Morning Show.
“There’s a lot of things that went into making that decision. In a perfect world I would have been able to come back and do it. We don’t live in a perfect world… I wish the girls good luck for Season 3. I’m going to be cheering them on. But I was disappointed that Nya wasn’t coming back, but I hope that she lives in the imagination of the audience, still walking around New York City.

Sex and the City was a smash hit for HBO. Premiering in 1998, the series ran for six seasons, spawned two movies (although we'd prefer to forget that the second one ever came out), and a prequel series (The Carrie Diaries on The CW).
And while there was great excitement over And Just Like That..., the reboot was somewhat marred from the outset with the harassment allegations against Chris Noth, the lack of Samantha (Kim Cattrall), and the introduction of the polarizing Che Diaz.
The series has expanded its circle of friends from the original, bringing in Seema, Nya, and Lisa as foils and sidekicks for Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte, respectively.
Long-time fans enjoyed seeing Anthony find a new partner and learning more about Stanford's life in Japan. Season 2 of And Just Like That... also saw much growth from our leading ladies.
Carrie found and then lost Aidan, at least for the time being.

Exclusive: A fan-favorite character is leaving And Just Like That… Karen Pittman, who played Nya Wallace in the first two seasons of the Sex and the City sequel, will not be returning for the upcoming third season of the hit Max series.
Pittman was already a series regular on Apple TV+’s The Morning Show when she was cast in And Just Like That…, originally as a recurring in Season 1; she was upped to a series regular in Season 2. Earlier this month, she also was tapped for a starring role in Forever, Netflix’s upcoming drama series reimagining Judy Blume’s novel from Mara Brock Akil.
This put Pittman in the middle of a scheduling conundrum involving three high-profile series on three major streamers filming new seasons this year within similar timeframes.
According to sources, there was every intention for Pittman to be in Season 3 of Ajlt, and Nya was written into the scripts.

In season three of "The Morning Show," a race scandal rocks Uba, the broadcast network that serves as the show's backdrop. The storyline sees Karen Pittman's Mia and Greta Lee's Stella strikingly depict the realities of women of color in largely white, corporate spaces like network television. "That's me and Greta actually, in a real way," Pittman tells Popsugar after speaking at the 2024 Makers Conference on Feb. 28.
Through characters like Mia and Nya on "And Just Like That...," Pittman brings incredible nuance to her portrayal of strong Black women who navigate their race in their respective environments, which she opened up about in conversation with "Succession" actor J. And just like that, everyone is talking about “Sex and the City” again.
The finale of the second season of “And Just Like That” debuted Thursday — featuring a Samantha (Kim Cattrall) cameo! — and it was…fun? Moving? Not as deranged as the first season!? My colleague Ben Travers reviewed the finale here, but with the news that the show, Max’s No. 1 original, would indeed be returning for a third season we got to thinking about how the show can continue on its sudden upward swing.
The last few episodes of Season 2 have shown some promising signs of life. So members of the IndieWire brain trust who have consumed all 21 episodes of this compelling chaos train couldn’t help but wonder: What one change would drastically improve the show for Season 3?
For myself, the answer is easy: It’s time to get rid of Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez). The internet...

And just like that… another chaotic, traumatizing, and strangely addictive season of And Just Like That… has come to an end. Season Two introduced penis pumps and a palatial new apartment into Carrie Bradshaw’s world, plus the reappearance of her former flame Aidan Shaw and the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it return of Samantha Jones.
Ahead of the finale, it was announced that Ajlt would be returning for a third season. Max’s Head of Content Sarah Aubrey said in a statement that Season Two ranks as the most-streamed Max original and...

The second season of And just like that, a very popular show that has been rebooted way too many times has finally come to an end. The original show Sex and the City began with the stories of women above the age of 30 navigating through dating as their careers were set and prospering. It is still the same story a few decades later. Lives may have changed, but friendships still stand tall, and they are the backbone of their existence. The original show was path-breaking because it discussed many taboo subjects and has ever since attained cult status. There have been many shows modeled to look like it, but nothing comes closer to the original one and the second season of the third reboot. So here are the shows you must watch if And just like that is your current favorite.

The second season of the series ended on a bittersweet note. There was still a ray of hope that the makers added so that we could come back to the next season with some optimism. We collectively agree that the second season of the show was better than the first one. The arcs given to most of the lead characters were far better than their narratives in the previous season. Now that the network and the producers have announced that And Just Like That has been renewed for a third season, we would like to speculate on the narratives of several characters we wish to see in the next installment.
The second season ended with Carrie and Aidan deciding to put a five-year hold on their relationship. Aidan wants to focus on his teenage son, Wyatt. For that, he will have to stay incommunicado with Carrie. It seems a bit...

When the And Just Like That writers started chatting about the end of the season two finale, even they admitted they were dreading reliving the conversation between Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Aidan (John Corbett), the former love of her life with whom she reconciled with earlier in the season.

After 11 episodes, a rekindled romance and a highly anticipated cameo, “And Just Like That” Season 2 came to an end Thursday on Max.
Developed by Michael Patrick King, the Max original takes place 11 years after the “Sex and the City 2” movie. Instead of following four friends in their 30s, the spinoff follows three of the main friends in their 50s as they navigate friendship, careers, new romances and the complicated rules of dating later in life.
TheWrap already broke down Kim Cattrall’s return as Samantha Jones. But if you’re curious how the season ended for everyone else, here’s what you need to know.

Spoiler Alert: This column contains spoilers from “The Last Supper Part Two: Entrée,” the Season 2 finale of “And Just Like That,” now streaming on Max.
Before the second season of “And Just Like That” even premiered, we knew that Kim Cattrall would (briefly) return as her “Sex and the City” character Samantha Jones. The ratings rationale for bringing back such a beloved figure were obvious enough, but creatively, the move seemed oddly self-defeating. After an awkward start, the sequel series had finally started to establish its own identity. What was the point of reminding viewers what they were missing, let alone with a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo featuring no other cast members?
But to my great surprise, Cattrall’s appearance in the 11th and final episode of Season 2 was both effective and, against all odds, organic. The two-part finale, titled “The Last Supper,” was all about saying goodbye and paying tribute...

Can we talk, for a moment, about the guest list for the main event of “The Last Supper, Part Two: Entrée,” aka the finale of And Just Like That… Season Two?
As Carrie Bradshaw gathered together her nearest and dearest to say farewell to her beloved Upper East Side apartment, some of the attendees made perfect sense. Charlotte and Miranda were, of course, in attendance, Charlotte bringing along husband Harry.

The ninth episode of And Just Like That Season 2 ended with Carrie finally purchasing a bigger apartment for herself and Aidan. Since it is a brand-new place, they can both make new memories there. She would also want his kids to visit them as often as they could. Lisa lets Herbert know that she is pregnant, and listening to the news, he gets excited about it. Regarding the Lily-Brady situation, the mothers stopped speculating about it, especially Charlotte, because she wants to give her daughter the space to just be herself. It was the first time Charlotte acted more mature than Miranda.

[Editor’s Note: The following article contains spoilers for “And Just Like That” Season 2, through Episode 5, “Trick or Treat.”]
When “And Just Like That…” premiered, it got to the point, fast. Big (Chris Noth) was dead before the end of the first hour, and Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) was alone again, with only her untold millions to comfort her. Killing off a key character or two is a standard practice when it comes to revivals, implemented in everything from “Night Court” to “Will & Grace,” but “And Just Like That…” made Big’s death the series’ center. The first season was clearly about Carrie grieving her loss, finding a fresh path, and walking into that uncertain future.
When it comes to similar purpose, all Season 2 can muster is uncertainty. At times, it feels like an extension of Season 1 — aka, it’s still all about Big, or, at least, it’s still all about Carrie grieving and finding her way forward.

The fourth episode of this season of And Just Like That ended with Carrie attending Enid’s party, and she surprisingly had a good time meeting plenty of aging women who strive to live independently. Che and Miranda are just trying to get along with each other as partners now that they are back from the shoot. Miranda is not as flexible as she thought she would be. Charlotte and Harry had a good month with their kids out of the house; meanwhile, Lisa and Herbert salvaged their anniversary party by announcing that Herbert would run for the post of City Comptroller.

The episode begins at Che’s apartment, where Miranda and they have two different sleep schedules. Miranda, for the longest time, was used to a certain lifestyle, but with Che and their friends around, she hardly gets her glory sleep.

Max dropped the first two episodes of And Just Like That… season 2 on June 22. The reboot’s inaugural season was incredibly successful for the streaming service provider but received plenty of criticism from fans. While fans awaited the arrival of season 2, the cast and crew tried to convince fans that they had been heard and season 2 would look and feel a bit more like the original Sex and the City. After watching the first two episodes, we must say that while it isn’t Sex and the City, And Just Like That… season 2 is off to a good start. The team behind the series has seemingly addressed these three major fan complaints.
Che Diaz feels more relatable
Che Diaz received the majority of hate from Sex and the City fans during season 1 of the reboot. The non-binary comedian and podcaster, swooped in and started a romance with Miranda Hobbes. No matter what,...

Here are the highlights of the life-altering things that happened with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte (Kristin Davis), as well as several new characters. The original cast, which was often criticized for not including any non-white characters, was expanded by adding a Poc Bff for the three leads, to varying degrees of storytelling success.
Producers also worked in an Awol Kim Cattrall (who has a cameo in Season 2) as Samantha thanks to some timely texts after her off-screen fallout with Carrie.

When the “Sex and the City” reboot “And Just Like That …” premiered in December 2021, widespread excitement over the return of Carrie Bradshaw and company quickly soured into weekly rant fodder among loyalists for whom the original series had been nothing short of life-changing.
As someone who’d written a cultural history of “Sex and the City,” I was among them. We’d hoped the show that had revolutionized the portrayal of single, professional, sexually active women would do the same for ambitious, sexually active women over 50. What we got instead was a disorienting mishmash of nostalgic fan service, wokeness and tokenism that seemed to be apologizing for the series’ white privileged roots, and plotlines that made the characters seem like they were well into their 70s rather than their 50s.

And Just Like That… season 2 is set to premiere in June. While the inaugural season of the Sex and the City reboot was heavily watched, it was also heavily criticized by fans, many of whom missed the airiness of the original series. One storyline was more despised than all the rest. Fans really hated Miranda Hobbes’ decision to cheat on Steve Brady with Che Diaz. While many have argued that any cheating storyline would have been unacceptable, the show originally planned for a romance to bloom between Miranda and Nya Wallace, her professor. So, why didn’t it happen? Cynthia Nixon had a hand in the final decision.
