Shortly after the actor's passing, the show's production team confirmed they had paused work on the series to figure out how to move forward without him.
As Andre Anderson, the actor played one of Gen V's lead characters, with the stage ultimately set for him to be a major player in the world of The Boys. Back in March, we got the tragic news that 27-year-old Gen V actor Chance Perdomo has passed away after a motorcycle accident.
Perdomo had been a major part of The Boys spin-off series, and his character, Andre Anderson, was going to feature heavily in the planned second season.
Showrunner Eric Kripke and the show's producers recently put out a joint statement confirming that another actor would not be brought in to play Andre, and the season would instead be "re-crafted" to pay tribute to Perdomo.
"As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory. We won't be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to re-craft our season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.

In March, we were sad to report that former Sabrina and Gen V star Chance Perdomo (27) died in a motorcycle incident in which he was the sole person involved. No detailed information has been revealed, but it is suspected that the accident occurred while Perdomo was traveling to Toronto to start filming Season 2 of Gen V. Of course, the actor’s death was a tragedy, and the whole entertainment industry was shocked, with the production of Gen V being immediately halted and postponed indefinitely.
Amazon and the people involved with the series first had to mourn Perdomo’s death, as the loss certainly struck all those involved very hard. After that, they had yet another complex task, as they had to figure out what to do with Andre Anderson, who was one of the most important characters in the series.

We have recently written that the production of the second season of Gen V was to start soon, but things have changed as of Saturday. Namely, as we have reported, Chance Perdomo (27), one of the series’ main actors, tragically died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, which means that Gen V has lost one of its main stars. This means that the production of Gen V has been halted indefinitely, and as of this moment, it is unknown what is going to happen with the series.
Amazon and the people involved with the series first have to mourn Perdomo’s death, as the loss is certainly going to hit all those involved very hard. After that, they have another complex task, as they have to figure out what to do with Andre Anderson, who was one of the most important characters in the series.

Chance Perdomo, one of the leads on the Boys spin-off series Gen V, which streams on Prime Video, has died. According to reports, the 27-year-old actor was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident. Five months ago, I spoke with Chance Perdomo about the Season 1 finale of “The Boys” spinoff “Gen V,” and I could feel his excitement vibrating through the phone.
While any young star is likely to be thrilled to speak about their latest project, this interview felt palpably important to Chance, as it was the first time the 27-year-old British-American actor had been able to even promote Amazon’s “Gen V” due to his commitment to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which concluded one week after the finale aired.
Bursting with desire to get into the details about his superhero college character Andre Anderson, Perdomo paused at the start of our call to tell me he remembered the interviews I had done with him during his days starring as Ambrose Spellman in Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”: “God bless, thank you, love.

Amazon Prime has had a string of successful comic book adaptations, with both The Boys and Invincible being major hits. Now, building on the success of The Boys, the streaming service released a spin-off series titled Gen V back in September 2023. The series ran for eight episodes in total and was yet another smashing hit for the streaming service, which – of course – led to the announcement of a second season. And while we don’t have any release window as of the time of writing, we do have some exciting filming updates that could narrow down the possibilities.
The Boys is probably one of the most popular comic book adaptations ever made. The series is simply on a run, and with Season 4 arriving soon, there is a lot of good to expect from the future of the franchise. Gen V was ordered and produced as a functional spin-off of The Boys...

In 2019, Lizze Broadway was at San Diego Comic-Con when the whispers began. “The Boys are coming. The Boys are coming.” A few minutes later, castmembers including Karl Urban and Jack Quaid walked by, seemingly in slow motion. “For a show I knew nothing about, this moment stuck with me big time,” says Broadway, who plays size-changing student Emma. Four years later, Broadway and her fellow cast were preparing to show off Amazon’s college-set The Boys spinoff, Gen V, at their own Comic-Con panel — a chance to assure the 4,800 or so fans of The Boys who were packed into the convention center that the new series would be just as raunchy and violent as the mother ship. The strike derailed that. But, months later, the Gen V team tells THR how it would have gone down.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the Season 1 finale of “Gen V, titled “Guardians of Godolkin,” now streaming on Amazon’s Prime Video.
As a member of the “Gen V” cast, Chance Perdomo has gone through many on-set experiences specific to those in “The Boys” franchise: being repeatedly covered in fake blood and bodily fluids, shooting scenes with giant genitalia, and saying some truly filthy lines coming out of a superhero’s mouth. But Perdomo has another surprising connection to “The Boys.”
“I came into this as a fan of ‘The Boys,’ I actually had originally auditioned for Hughie, years ago.” I read it and I thought it was such a great script. And I was like, ‘Whether I get it or not, I still want to watch the show.’ Then I watched ‘The Boys’ and I think, ‘Wow this has never been done, it’s amazing’. So then...
