At the end of March, we learned that British actor Chance Perdomo, best known for his roles in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Boys spin-off Gen V, had died following a motorcycle accident.
Shortly after the actor's passing, the show's production team confirmed they had paused work on the series to figure out how to move forward without him.
As Andre Anderson, the actor played one of Gen V's lead characters, with the stage ultimately set for him to be a major player in the world of The Boys. Fans have wondered if the role might be recast, but The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has now elaborated on how Andre will be written out of the spin-off series.
"First, it's just so unbelievably tragic, and my heart goes out to his family," Kripke tells TV Line. "We're not trying to replace him because we can’t. We're playing the character's death on the show.

Gen V’s executive producer Eric Kripke recently revealed how the show will handle Andre Anderson’s sudden absence following the death of actor Chance Perdomo. Speaking with TVLine, Kripke noted that Perdomo’s character will also pass away on screen at the beginning of the season to reflect the actor’s tragic death. Handling Andre Anderson’s Absence First, it’s just so unbelievably tragic, and my heart goes out to his family,” said Kripke. “We’re not trying to replace him because we can’t. Gen V’s return for Season 2 will not feature one of the leading characters. Chance Perdomo passed away prior to the second season of the show’s production. Subsequently, the writers disclosed that they would not be recasting the role and would instead find a way to bring the late actor’s legacy to life through the character. Having finally decided how to handle the unfortunate turn of events, the season is currently in production.

The upcoming second season of Prime Video's Gen V has added its first new cast member, with Legion and Midnight Mass alum Hamish Linklater set to join the ensemble as the new dean of Godolkin University, Cipher.
It sounds like this character was created for the show (though he could end up having a comic book counterpart), and is described as “the charismatic and charming newly-appointed Dean of Godolkin University. Trained as a scientist, he’s politically brilliant, and has the trust and admiration of officials at the highest level.”
The previous dean, Shelley Conn's Indira Shetty, came to a messy end in season 1 when Cate Dunlap's Maddie Phillips used her mind control powers to force the duplicitous villain to slit her own throat.
Showrunner Eric Kripke has previously confirmed that the Gen V finale will directly tie-in to the events of The Boys season 4.

While his work on his reboot version of DC’s cinematic universe as its co-ceo is yet to be seen, James Gunn has displayed his charming directing flair in quite a few other projects that were nothing short of lovable.
Besides the fan-favorite The Suicide Squad from the DC Universe being one of them, he is also credited with helming the MCU masterpiece, Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.

That being said, while the trilogy was pretty much perfect, some fans might still hold a grudge against Gunn for a decision he took for Michael Rosenbaum, i.e. the actor who played Lex Luthor in the television series.
This was because the filmmaker decided to sideline Rosenbaum’s character in the trilogy for the MCU, i.e., Martinex, in a rather humiliating way.

Back in March, we got the tragic news that 27-year-old Gen V actor Chance Perdomo has passed away after a motorcycle accident.
Perdomo had been a major part of The Boys spin-off series, and his character, Andre Anderson, was going to feature heavily in the planned second season.
Showrunner Eric Kripke and the show's producers recently put out a joint statement confirming that another actor would not be brought in to play Andre, and the season would instead be "re-crafted" to pay tribute to Perdomo.
"As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory. We won't be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to re-craft our season 2 storylines as we begin production in May. We will honor Chance and his legacy this season.

In March, we were sad to report that former Sabrina and Gen V star Chance Perdomo (27) died in a motorcycle incident in which he was the sole person involved. No detailed information has been revealed, but it is suspected that the accident occurred while Perdomo was traveling to Toronto to start filming Season 2 of Gen V. Of course, the actor’s death was a tragedy, and the whole entertainment industry was shocked, with the production of Gen V being immediately halted and postponed indefinitely.
Amazon and the people involved with the series first had to mourn Perdomo’s death, as the loss certainly struck all those involved very hard. After that, they had yet another complex task, as they had to figure out what to do with Andre Anderson, who was one of the most important characters in the series.

Weeks before his death on March 30, the star of “The Boys” spin-off “Gen V” Chance Perdomo revealed the role on “The Boys” that he auditioned for — and failed to snag. While speaking on actor Michael Rosebaum’s podcast “Inside Of You,” Perdomo said, “I auditioned for Huey on ‘The Boys,’ and I don’t think I got close. But I remember reading it and being like, ‘I absolutely love everything about this.'”
Earlier in the interview, Perdomo said that he’d also auditioned for the role of Jughead Jones on “Riverdale” — a role that ultimately went to Cole Sprouse. “I didn’t get that, but I was close,” he said. “It was one of my first auditions. I think it was between me and three other people, or three or five.”
Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa remembered his audition, however, and “wrote [his ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ character] Ambrose with me in mind.
Earlier in the interview, Perdomo said that he’d also auditioned for the role of Jughead Jones on “Riverdale” — a role that ultimately went to Cole Sprouse. “I didn’t get that, but I was close,” he said. “It was one of my first auditions. Christy Bullock, 39, was riding a new motorcycle her husband, Lee, had bought in October 2021. With Lee out of town, Bullock didn’t want to ride alone, so she called her father to come along. The two rode down Cheaha Mountain in Alabama without issues, with Bullock riding behind her father.
Bullock wanted to go left, but her motorcycle resisted, and Bullock hit a guardrail. Her father saw the motorcycle wobble around the curve until it fell over. He found his daughter hanging on the guardrail, not breathing.
Paramedics rushed to the scene of the accident. Some of the first responders were Bullock’s coworkers. Bullock had been a paramedic for over a decade before the crash. Bullock described her injury as atlantooccipital dislocation, the official term for internal decapitation.
