The first Monday in May has arrived, which means it’s Met Gala time.
For its 2024 edition, the annual fundraiser benefiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute was hosted by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, and Anna Wintour with the theme of “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” (the title of the Institute’s latest exhibition), and a dress code of “The Garden of Time,” a reference to the 1962 J.G. Ballard short story of the same name.
Accordingly all the stars arrived in New York City donning the finest horticulture-inspired couture, with natural designs and floral garnishes abound. Below, you the outfits worn by Lana Del Rey, Dua Lipa, Rosalía, Ariana Grande, Charli Xcx, FKA twigs, Jennie of Blackpink, Stray Kids, Lil Nas X, Tyla, plus Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Ayo Edebiri, Lily Gladstone, and Uma Thurman.

“The Boss,” Bruce Springsteen, is easily one of the most iconic living artists in music with hits like “Streets of Philadelphia,” “Dancing in the Dark” and “Born to Run,” among many others. Such a strong career has warranted a lot of awards attention, so it’s no wonder that the Boss has racked up an impressive 20 Grammys, the most for a rock soloist.

Laufey has always felt "undefined." Whether it was her unique, modern jazz sound or her identity as a Chinese Icelandic artist, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter and producer tells Popsugar she "always felt like an anomaly and a bit of an outsider in my communities."
"Being a bit different became my status quo."
The artist, who recently took home her first Grammy for best traditional pop vocal album, has taken the music world - and TikTok - by storm. Since going viral on the platform in early 2022, she's released two albums, the second of which earned her the accolade. "Being a bit different became my status quo. I took my experience of being undefined into the music industry," she says.
Laufey's background growing up with Chinese and Icelandic parents in Iceland and later living in the US was pivotal to building her sound and, eventually, her career in music. "I had such...

Billy Joel performed at the Grammy Awards for the first time in 22 years, closing Sunday night’s (February 4th) ceremony by playing “Turn the Lights Back On,” his first new music in nearly two decades. He also performed one of his classic hits, “You May Be Right.”
Joel premiered “Turn the Lights Back On” in the days ahead of the Grammys. Co-written by Freddy Wexler, Arthur Bacon, and Wayne Hector, the song is a piano ballad that conveys Joel’s signature style, with a few modern touches. For his Grammys performance, the Piano Man took center stage with a full backing band, complete with Icelandic jazz-pop revivalist Laufey on cello.
Prior to “Turn the Lights Back On,” Joel’s most-recent release was 2007’s “All My Life.” In 2001, he shared his latest studio album, the classical collection Fantasies & Delusions, with his most-recent pop album being 1993’s River of Dreams.

You can’t win ’em all. With so many candidates to choose from every Grammy season, there are inevitably major contenders left out of the running in favor of artists, songs and albums we didn’t see coming. With that in mind, scroll down to see some of the major contenders who didn’t make the cut in the big four general field categories of Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist.
Foo Fighters are missing entirely from the general field, though they were recognized in the rock field. Their album “But Here We Are” was snubbed for Album of the Year, and their single “Rescued” missed the cut for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Also absent from the general field is Doja Cat‘s “Paint the Town Red.” She missed out on Record of the Year and Song of the Year,...

The 66th Grammy nominations are just days away, and one of the most exciting races is Best New Artist, a category that can make or break a career. Usually an amalgamation of some of the biggest genres around, the award typically has a great mix of huge breakouts and hidden gems. But among so many worthy debutantes, which eight will make up the class of 2024?
The biggest lock for a nomination this year is Ice Spice. The Bronx rapper has made waves with her infectious style and collaborations with big artists like Nicki Minaj, PinkPantheress, Lil Tjay, and Taylor Swift. Such major collaborations are already a big deal, but Ice has also scored hits on her own, like “In Ha Mood” and “Deli.” Following her victory at the 2023 VMAs for Best New Artist, Ice might continue her hot streak with a Grammy victory, especially with possible support from both rap and pop voters.

beabadoobee is back with “A Night to Remember,” a sensual duet with Laufey. Stream the single below.
Built around a sultry bossa nova beat with a warm acoustic guitar and silky strings to boot, “A Night to Remember” gives space for both singers to lay down smooth, sensual vocals paying homage to a memorable evening “underneath the sheets.” Speaking about the song, both artists stated that they wanted to make something “a bit more sexy” than their usual output.
“I’ve been writing with a lot of different rhythms recently, also with strings and nods to more classical sounds,” beabadoobee said in a statement. “Laufey is a great fit for this sound and we had started hanging out in London, so we got in the studio together to work on music and try ideas with my producer Jacob. We also hung in NY on my tour and started becoming closer friends.

Tom Hiddleston has portrayed Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade. The actor made his debut as the god of mischief in 2011's "Thor." Since then, he's reprised his role in various Marvel projects, including "The Avengers," which features Loki as the film's main villain. Currently, Hiddleston is playing Loki in his own Disney+ series. "Loki" has been a major success since its premiere in June 2021. In fact, it's the only original MCU series on the platform to get a second season.
As the MCU dives further into Phase 5, Loki continues to play a central part in the franchise. If you're a big fan of the god of mischief, you may be curious to know more about his origins. While Loki is based on the character of the same name from the Marvel comics, he was initially inspired by Norse mythology. Of course, Marvel's version of Loki differs from the Norse deity,...

The first season of Marvel Studios' "Loki" expanded the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a full-on multiverse. Picking up after the events of "Avengers: Endgame," the series places the trickster god (Tom Hiddleston) on a new mission with the Time Variance Authority to preserve the timeline. In addition to introducing the concept of an MCU multiverse, "Loki" also introduces the McU's current primary antagonist, Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). The show returns for its second season on Disney+ on October 6, as Loki explores the fallout from the actions of his alternate timeline variant Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino).
With Loki appearing throughout the MCU regularly since 2011's "Thor," there is plenty to go over to prepare for the second season of "Loki." From a full explainer on the Asgardians' place in the MCU to Loki's fall and eventual redemption, the God of Mischief has endured a rollercoaster of an arc. Here is...

Many of the best-known Marvel movie villains look like the actors playing them. Loki is Tom Hiddleston in a costume. Killmonger is Michael B. Jordan with dreadlocks. They're beloved because they're relatable, and although we may hate their goals the actors embodying them frequently convey sympathetic motives. They're dangerous in part because they have some (arguably) likable traits.
The truly scary threats, however, look solidly inhuman. Aliens, monsters, gods, robots, the occasional mutant ... we cannot relate directly to such overpowered beings when it's so very unlikely they can be persuaded not to crush us. Yet behind all these frightening threats, there is a real human being. In some cases, it's one you may not believe you didn't recognize before. Let's take a look at what the actual actors behind so many intimidating creatures look like when they're just being themselves. Here are what the scariest MCU villains look like in real life.

Reginald Hargreeves is one of the most ruthless, apathetic characters on "The Umbrella Academy," and Colm Feore does such a good job of playing him that it's always a bit of a shock to see the contrast between character and actor. While Hargreeves is cold, demanding, and has no reservations about buying children, Feore is (thankfully) much more laid-back and friendly. Yet, the pair have something crucial in common: a fierce drive to properly achieve whatever they put their minds to.
It's a similarity that Feore's co-stars have picked up on, too. In an interview with ScreenRant, Robert Sheehan couldn't help but praise Feore's incredible work dedication:
"Honestly, Colm Feore, all messing aside, is an absolute inspiration of a being. Incredibly hard working, great work ethic. Our scripts change, scenes might be cut or they might expand more often. You might get ... replacement pages to slot into your episode, so...
