Things got a bit steamy on The View recently when Sunny Hostin shared excerpts of her newest book, Summer on Highland Beach, with the ladies.
The ladies had all been laughing and joking just before Sunny asked Joy Behar to read some of the “sexy parts” of her newest book.
This book, coming out May 28, is the third of Sunny’s Sag Harbor series, and Sunny has been busy promoting it since Christmas.
In this hot political season, it is good for the ladies to take a break and talk about other issues, even if they are a bit hot and steamy.
Whoopi Goldberg started the segment asking about sexy books and shared an article from the New York Post that said reading erotica is more effective than watching it.
She asked Joy what she thought; it was the perfect segue for Sunny to ask her to read from her newest book.

Comedian and long-time television personality Joy Behar has been opening up about her family history and how it shaped her personality and on-screen persona. The View co-host appeared on the show’s spinoff podcast, Behind The Table, where she spoke to executive producer Brian Teta about her long career and ability to get away with saying things most cannot. “You’re famously blunt,” Teta told the Daytime Emmy Award winner, per Closer. Behar, however, had a different perspective, quipping, “I would say tactless better than blunt.” She revealed she learned to be that way from her Aunt Rose, explaining, “As my aunt would say, ‘I tell the truth no matter who I may offend’… But no, I do have my limits on what I will say to people. I keep my mouth shut when I have to. It’s amazing how much I get away with. Why is that?” Teta...

Now that The View is back after a week off for their spring break, it is great to catch up with the ladies.
Fans were upset with the previously recorded episodes of The View and The View: Behind the Table podcast for an entire week.
During a recent episode with Sara Haines, Brian Teta mentioned on the podcast that fans feel the hosts should never get time off, especially during a hot political time in America.
He was adamant in defending their time off, and rightly so. The ladies all deserve some much-needed spring break time. Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro stayed home while the others traveled.
When Sara Haines stopped by the podcast to share her vacation with her husband, she offered some surprising information about going away without her children.

The View has been airing repeats all week, and fans are ready for new episodes to watch.
The hardworking ladies have taken a much-needed hiatus for Spring Break, leaving everyone with a week of rerun episodes.
By taking this time away from filming The View, the ladies should be coming back next week refreshed and ready to take on the hot topics robustly.
Fans were upset with the extended break the ladies took for Christmas. The last half of December was mostly old episodes, as reported by Monsters and Critics.
A few ladies have checked in on social media this week, letting fans know where they have been on vacation, while others have gone dark on the internet.
Sara Haines showed pictures of herself and her husband enjoying a break in Turks and Caicos.

Knowing when there will be reruns or previously recorded episodes is very important for fans of The View.
Everyone loves tuning in to see what the popular show hosts will discuss next, and it is a great disappointment when The View is not new.
Earthquakes, fires at nearby studios, and even an eclipse cannot keep the ladies from their seats, as they’ve proven this month.
However, as fans have started to speculate, a yearly phenomenon called “spring break” causes them to take an earned and much-needed vacation from the show.
Friday’s show was previously recorded, so the gang may have already started on their vacation.
Brian Teta, the show’s executive producer, shared some news about next week’s plans on his podcast, The View: Behind the Table.

Will The View return for Season 28 this fall, and if not, what will take its place? Many fans may ask that question after surprising news about The Talk.
When one talk show is canceled, fans wonder if their favorite one will be axed, too, and The View fans may wonder how it is doing and if it will be renewed.
The Talk, which seemed created to compete with The View, will end its run in December with Season 15.
CBS announced that The Talk, with Sheryl Underwood, Jerry O Connell, and Natalie Morales will finish up a shortened season in December 2024 and not return in January 2025, Deadline reports.
The View has not yet been renewed for Season 28, and that news may not come until later that summer, like last year. However, there are clues that the renewal will come soon.

Joy Behar is not a fan of Dolly Parton‘s “Jolene,” even though it’s the original. She much rather prefers Beyoncé’s version for its power and anger.
You see, while Dolly’s version begged this beautiful and seductive Jolene to not take her man, Beyoncé’s version warned that there’ll be consequences should she even make moves to take her man. For this reason, Behar believes that one of these two songs is “anti-feminist.”

Brian Teta, the executive producer of The View, has signed a new contract for the show that will keep him at the often buzzy daytime talker for the next four years.
The show has been up 3% in total viewers season to date, and has continued to top daytime talk shows and news programs in viewership and households. There are signs of an election-year influence in the uptick: The day after the Iowa caucuses, when ABC News chief Washington correspondent Jon Karl guested, the show’s 2.85 million viewers was its most watched telecast in nearly two years.
“Every time there’s a big moment in the news cycle, whether it’s the State of the Union, or a Republican debate or anything like that, I see a spike the next morning, even in pop culture world where it’s something like the Oscars,” Teta said. “People are tuning in to see...

Joy Behar said she once auditioned for Saturday Night Live, but it didn’t necessarily go as planned.
The comedian and co-host of ABC’s The View shared on the daytime talk show’s companion podcast The View: Behind the Table Wednesday that she auditioned for the sketch comedy show’s cast in 1975.
“There was a period where I tried to get on because I had this funny character that I did. And I had to audition for [creator] Lorne Michaels,” she recounted. “He never laughed, and after I was done, he said, ‘That was funny.’ I said, ‘You didn’t laugh,’ and he said, ‘Well, I don’t want to laugh because then you’ll think you have a job.’ I said, ‘That’s Ok, don’t worry about it.’ I didn’t even want the job, to tell you the truth.”

The View co-host Joy Behar once auditioned for Saturday Night Live. It did not go well.
The 81-year-old recalled the 1975 moment Wednesday on The View’s companion podcast, Behind the Table.
“There was a period I tried to get on, because I had this funny character that I did. I had to audition for [SNL creator-producer] Lorne Michaels,” Behar told View producer Brian Teta. “He never laughed, and after I was done, he said, ‘That was funny.’ I said, ‘You didn’t laugh,’ and he said, ‘I don’t want to laugh because then you’ll think you have a job.’ I said, ‘That’s okay, don’t worry about it.’ I didn’t even want the job, to tell you the truth.”
Michaels is famous for purposely not laughing during SNL auditions. Behar admitted it was still “a little depressing to have to audition for somebody and they don’t laugh.

Robert Downey Jr.’s long-in-coming Oscar win for Oppenheimer had a couple former co-stars so happy they just had to stop what they were doing to express their joy.
Yesterday, Downey’s Avengers: Endgame costar Gwyneth Paltrow was having her hair and make-up done at home when Downey’s name was called for Best Supporting Actor (his first win in three nominations). So overcome with happiness for Downey, Paltrow started screaming and turned her cellphone camera on herself, complete with tin foil strips in her hair, apparently for coloring purposes. (She later posted the video as an Instagram Story).
Downey’s win brought out a similarly defiant streak in Goldberg today. The ladies on The View may look like they are friendly with each other, but sometimes, they let their real feelings slip through the facade.
That certainly was the case on a recent airing of The View when Sara Haines was missing from her seat next to Whoopi Goldberg.
There is usually a friendly rivalry among the ladies, lighthearted slams back and forth, all tinged with love. But today, it seemed that Joy was not coming from a place of love.
It is well known that both Whoopi and Joy Behar have shortened work weeks, with Ana Navarro filling in occasionally, so it was odd when Sara was not on the show midweek.
Whoopi began the segment by explaining that Sara Haines would not be on the show but would hopefully return in the next few days.

It seems that everyone, even talk show hosts like Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin, wants to be in an audience at a talk show for the experience.
The View recently did a segment on Wendy Williams and how she seems to be not interacting with her family because of the guardianship she has been placed under.
During a follow-up after that show on the podcast The View: Behind the Table, Brian Teta, The View’s executive producer, brought up Wendy Williams and the statement about her health that was released after their taped interview with her niece.
Sara Haines was on hand during the podcast to react to Wendy’s diagnosis of primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia, which Today also reported on.
During this segment, Sara shared a time she and Sunny Hostin went to a live taping of The Wendy Williams Show early in their tenure as co-hosts on The View.

Many things happen at the table when the ladies gather for the popular talk show The View.
Sunny Hostin seems to be the biggest culprit for mess-ups live on the air. Her phone rang during a live interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger in what was an embarrassing gaffe for her.
But recently, Sunny got Joy Behar into the hot water alongside her, and neither lady was happy with being found out.
Ana Navarro, the oft-bleeped co-host, was off, and Joy took her middle seat. Otherwise, Ana would be the one getting a scolding from Whoopi Goldberg.
Whoopi was trying to do her job and moderate the show. She began with a story from Reddit about a couple that drove eight hours and across country lines to a wedding only to find out they were not invited to the reception.
Unfortunately, because of Sunny and Joy’s shenanigans, Whoopi kept getting interrupted...

Things have been running smoothly on The View lately, but a shakeup in the regular lineup has fans worried about one of the ladies.
It is well known that Joy Behar is off on Mondays, and Whoopi Goldberg takes her Fridays off for a long weekend.
Ana Navarro fills in here or there and needs time to prepare because she flies from Florida to film The View. Otherwise, she is usually off partying somewhere.
But today, The View changed things without an official announcement, and fans are starting to worry.
Ana Navarro was called in unexpectedly, it seems, to fill in for Joy Behar. People worry whenever Joy is missing from her seat, especially after her long absence with Covid-19 before the holidays.
Neither Whoopi nor the executive producer, Brian Teta, have stated why Joy is missing.

Sunny Hostin recently had fans on the edge of their seats over how badly she botched something live on The View.
The beautiful Sunny is 55 and has clarified that she doesn’t care who knows it. She is all about body positivity, as reported on Monsters and Critics.
As she often does, she was speaking to the trolls when she said, “I’m 55. I get criticized often on the stupid social media things…Guess what? I don’t care.”
Maybe she has since had a change of heart over her appearance since she could have averted the blunder she had today if she weren’t so concerned about how she looked.
Amy Schumer was a guest on the show for Valentine’s Day and made an impassioned speech about characters on her show with Autism.

Sunny Hostin is getting angry after having a not-so-good month on The View.
She was recently in the hot seat with Killer Mike because he didn’t like the narrative she tried to spin. After all, he had not endorsed President Biden, and Sunny told him she was upset he hadn’t.
He had to call her out on the show live and tell her specifically not to “lie” about him, as reported by Monsters and Critics.
Now, she is responding after the devastating news of her ancestry is out, and some people are upset with her and sharing it on social media.
Sunny found out that she has ancestors who were enslavers when she consented to go on the Finding Your Roots show.
Sunny said of the ordeal that the whole revelation that her ancestors enslaved people was “deeply disappointing.” But now, she is fighting back after “trolls” wanted something from her,...

Whoopi Goldberg started a recent episode of The View, as she put it, “A little differently this morning.”
She was setting the stage for some weighty news that was to come from Sunny Hostin, one of the co-hosts on the show.
Sunny had recently shared that she would be on Finding Your Roots with Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. this season, and fans eagerly awaited the segment.
The show uses DNA and paper records to find out where famous people come from, and Sunny consented to be featured on the show, but what she found out shocked her.
Sunny had tears when Whoopi opened the show and began speaking to her about her ancestry results.
“Yes, he gave me some surprising revelations about my family,” Sunny said, speaking about Dr. Gates.

The ladies on The View are all seasoned professionals who know how to conduct themselves on national television most of the time.
One of the ladies recently dropped her decorum again, shocking the rest, especially Sunny Hostin.
Whoopi Goldberg was off on her usual three-day weekend excursion, and Joy Behar stepped in as moderator of the show.
Maybe it won’t surprise fans to hear who startled Sunny because she has been in hot water on the show before, and the censors keep their fingers on the bleep button just in case.
It all started when Joy Behar brought up the fact that President Biden has “salty” language and has been caught on video using curse words.
The ladies decided to discuss using profanity, and Ana Navarro was not disappointed with her language. It was so bad, whatever she said it was bleeped. The View has shared the clip on their YouTube channel.

Add Kevin Hart to the list of comedians who believe awards shows are not the best environment for the craft.
Hart told Sky News he would never host the Oscars, saying awards shows are “very cold” and not for everyone.
“Those gigs aren’t good gigs for comics,” he said in the U.K. interview. “It’s no shot to the Oscars, no shot to the Globes or anything else. Those just aren’t comedy-friendly environments anymore.”
Hart’s comments come on the heels of Jo Koy receiving criticism after some of his jokes fell flat while hosting the Golden Globes. Koy acknowledged afterward how difficult hosting had been.
“I had fun. It was a moment I’ll always remember,” Koy said on GMA3 the morning after the 2024 awards show, before adding how he felt about the criticisms he got. “I’d be lying if it doesn’t hurt. I...

81-year-old Joy Behar said Wednesday on the talk show’s Behind the Table podcast that she rejected the opportunity to play Ted Lasso’s mom in season 3.
By doing so, she gave up a role that scored actress Becky Ann Baker an Emmy nomination.
“You were contacted about the possibility to be on my favorite show of all time,” View producer Brian Teta said on the podcast. “You were dismissive of it because it would require you to spend your hiatus in London,” Teta added.
Behar blamed the unseasonable weather in the UK.
“It was too hot, you remember? There was a heat wave going on at that time, like, 100-degree weather, and I’d have to get on a plane and go in the middle of the heat? No,” Behar said. “Listen, I’m a writer, I write my own stuff, I don’t care about other people’s stuff.

“The View” hit a bit of an awkward silence on Monday morning, after host Ana Navarro joked that the ABC show’s executive producer is a perpetrator of posting “thirst traps” online.
The moment came as the women were discussing a story about a woman who does not appreciate her husband liking other women’s photos online, and host Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that it depended on what kind of photos the man was liking. If he was engaging with “thirst traps” — deliberately evocative photos posted to earn a reaction — then it would be a problem.
For Sara Haines, it was a struggle to believe that the man would be liking thirst traps, because so few people she or her husband follow would ever post thirst traps at this point, due to their age.
“What do you mean you don’t follow thirst traps, don’t you follow Brian?” Navarro joked.

The women of “The View” may love the concept of “The Golden Bachelor,” and even the man himself after he appeared on the show earlier this year. But they definitely don’t love how much he’s cried on the show. On Friday, Joy Behar even compared him to former House speaker John Boehner.
Indeed, Gerry Turner has shed quite a few tears on show, often around the time he sends another woman home. And, for Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin, it’s a bit melodramatic.
“He cries a lot, this guy. It’s like, it’s just a TV show, nobody died,” Behar mocked. “He’s always crying! He’s like in John Boehner territory.”
Of course, Behar mispronounced Boehner’s last name, saying it as it looks phonetically, and her co-hosts immediately pounced on her for it. But she shrugged it off, saying she and Boehner “go back,...

Reality-show personality Rachel Lindsay.stopped by The View’s companion podcast, Behind the Table on Thursday. She made it clear that Swifties annoy her with the current hoopla over Taylor’s Travis Kelce obsession.

The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay is joining those who are tired of the media frenzy surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, especially when it impacts football games.
During Thursday’s episode of The View‘s Behind the Table podcast, when asked how she felt about the whole Swift-Kelce phenomenon, she responded, “Hate it. Hate it. There’s no other emotion that comes out of me than hating it.”
Lindsay, who starred in season 13 of ABC’s popular dating show, is also a fan of the NFL, which is why she finds it “exhausting” constantly seeing Swifties obsessing over the sport just because of the singer’s rumored romance with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

Normally on “The View,” it’s Whoopi Goldberg who’s displeased about Hot Topics regarding reality TV shows or stars, or anything in that realm. The View moderator Whoopi Goldberg brought a political discussion – and today’s episode – to a weird, out-of-the-blue halt today when she stunned co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin by asking, “Are you pregnant?”
“No!,” a surprised and embarrassed Griffin said, laughing and adding, “Oh my god! You can’t say that when my mother-in-law is here, who’s been dying for me to get pregnant!”
The question clearly surprised the other panelists. “Why would you say that?,” co-host Joy Behar said as the audience responded in off-guard laughter.
“Why, do I look pregnant?,” a laughing Farah Griffin asked, to which Goldberg responded, “Yes, I just got a vibe. I’m so sorry.”
“I’m very open to being pregnant soon,” Farah Griffin said. “I am not blessed to be pregnant yet. My husband and I are thinking about it.”
The personal question came during a discussion about Mitt Romney’s decision to not seek another Senate term.

The third hour of NBC’s “Today” (2.054 million total viewers) came in third place and the final season of syndicated “Dr. Phil” was fourth,...

The View is all about a group of panelists giving their takes on life and culture. Whoopi Goldberg‘s Tmi pool sex confession during the August 2 episode, however, was not the take anyone expected to hear. The subject wasn’t random; the topic at hand was sex, after all. Goldberg wasn’t all that entertained by the topic. She tore up her note cards and said “Seriously?” to producer Brian Teta, who stands at a podium just off-screen, after reading the topic. When Joy Behar noted she enjoys drinking Sex on the Beach cocktails while traveling for pleasure, Goldberg went into her pool sex tangent. “You know, sex on the beach is overrated,” Goldberg said. “The drink or the sex?” Behar replied. “Both,” Goldberg quipped back, getting a chuckle out of the audience. “Because, you know, ...

Vacation sex was a supremely hot topic on Wednesday’s episode of The View, but no one — and we mean no one! — could’ve predicted just how far host Whoopi Goldberg would take the conversation.
While discussing a Wall Street Journal article about the pros and cons of having sex while traveling, Goldberg led the conversation astray after some light chatter about alcohol and sex on the beach, both the beverage and the physical activity.

Hollywood star Whoopi Goldberg shockingly cursed on-air in a hilarious opening during a new episode of ‘The View’.
Whoopi presented a new topic for her co-hosts to tackle when she was trying to say “beaches”.
However, she ended up with an ‘Nsfw’ word instead, reports aceshowbiz.com.
“A poll of 2,000 adults in the UK found that, when people travel, cuisine is more important to them than landmarks or b***hes,” the 67-year-old ‘Ghost’ actress said.
She immediately backtracked and corrected herself with, “beaches”.
In response to the mishap, the other co-hosts broke into a fit of laughter as the audience burst out in giggles.
Whoopi, meanwhile, seemed to be shocked by the gaffe as she placed her hand on her chest.
She later apologised after collecting herself.
“I’m sorry,” she said to a renewed burst of laughter. “It says, ‘beaches’, this is ya’ll’s fault!” she added while...

The week started off with a lot of laughter on “The View” this week, after moderator Whoopi Goldberg accidentally told her co-hosts, the audience, and everyone watching, that food is “more important” than “bitches” to most people.
The moment came as she attempted to kick off a new Hot Topic discussion, citing a new poll about traveling. In reality, the poll found that for most travelers, landmarks aren’t the biggest priority.
“A poll of 2,000 adults in the UK found that, when people travel, cuisine is more important to them than landmarks or bitches,” Whoopi said, before immediately catching her mistake.

For what it’s worth, the word she was supposed to say was “beaches.” Cuisine is more important to people than landmarks and beaches. And though she clarified, her co-hosts were already losing it.

“The View” has had plenty of chaos break out on the show over the years, but we don’t think it’s ever had a surprise water balloon attack happen on air — at least, not until Thursday’s episode. The victim? Executive producer Brian Teta.
The moment came at the end of the show, as the hosts of the ABC talk show were doing their “Favorite Things Under $50” segment. Similar to “View Your Deal,” this segment sees each host show off a few items that they’ve gotten and enjoyed, which audiences are able to purchase online. In Sara Haines’ case, one of the items was a set of reusable water balloons.
As Haines explained how they function, she grabbed a full balloon out of a bowl of water suddenly, prompting moderator Whoopi Goldberg, who was standing immediately to Haines’ left, to say “Don’t even think about it.”

Don’t get in the way of Joy Behar and her (platonic) man.
On “The View” this week, the co-hosts had a discussion about friendships with the opposite sex, which led to a playful spat between Behar and Sara Haines.

“I feel like I have a platonic relationship with Brian, our executive producer,” Behar said during the conversation, referring to executive producer Brian Teta.
“I do too,” Haines remarked.
But Behar interjected with a quick, “shut up!” and added, “He’s mine!”
At which point Haines burst out laughing.
The camera focused on Teta who was simply nodding and smiling in agreement with Behar before the show went to an ad break.

Republican presidential hopeful Tim Scott will sit down at “The View” table on Monday, TheWrap can exclusively reveal. Scott will be the second Republican presidential candidate to appear on the show in recent weeks. He is set to appear on Monday, June 5.
Scott’s appearance on the ABC talk show comes just days after he called out host Joy Behar for comparing him to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas (in which she said that he “doesn’t get” systemic racism), but talks with the politician to appear on the show began as soon as he announced his presidential run on May 22.
Behar will not be present for the interview Monday, as it is her day off. Interviewing Scott will be the regular Monday panel for “The View”: Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro, led by Whoopi Goldberg.

Whoopi Goldberg is sharing her thoughts on American Idol — and she isn’t too keen on its impact on society.
While discussing Netflix’s Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me documentary on a recent episode of The View, the co-host brought up the singing competition show and said the early seasons put a spotlight on drama, judgment and criticism.
“I think that we, as a society, love to watch stuff to judge folks. I’ve always thought that the beginning of the downfall of society was with, what’s the name of that show?” Goldberg said before show producer Brian Teta chimed in off camera, saying, “ABC’s American Idol?”
Goldberg quickly clarified that American Idol “was not always on ABC,” after Teta pointed out that The View and the reality show share the same network.
“Once we gave people the ability to judge other people, I think we ran amok with it,...

Whoopi Goldberg may be finding herself in more hot water on “The View”.
“The Color Purple” actress, 67, received backlash for branding “American Idol” as “the downfall of society” before retracting her statement amid a tense exchange with a “View” producer.
Goldberg and panel discussed the new Netflix documentary about Anna Nicole Smith, “You Don’t Know Me”, which analyzes the inner workings of the Playboy model’s life. Goldberg concluded that “people like to be judgey.”
“You have ‘Basketball Wives,’ you have the ‘Housewives’ of whatever, all the Bravo shows, giving you the impression that you’re doing something wrong because you’re living your life,” she further asserted.
