Racism and abandonment form the crux of the deeply tragic horror story Them: The Scare. Sadly, though, the two extremely important subject matters don’t quite gel well, thanks to the writers’ inability to find a seamless blend. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad show, though; it’s just that the latest season of Prime Video’s horror anthology series falls quite short of being something truly great. The in-your-face yellow filter also plays a role in that. It would have been much better had the show done away with it. What really works is the absolutely terrific acting performance by the cast, led by the magnificent Deborah Ayorinde, who returns to play a new character. Pam Grier is very impressive as the mother of Ayorinde’s lead, although she could have been utilized a lot more. And never in my life would I have imagined seeing someone...

Longtime collaborators Myke Towers and Bad Bunny have teamed up for a powerhouse track called “Adivino” — and fans already have theories that Bad Bunny’s verse is about Kendall Jenner.
The song marks a new era for Towers, who released his albums La Vida Es Una and Lveu: Vive La Tuya… No La Mia last year. He started teasing the song earlier this week on Instagram, hyping fans up for his latest team-up with Bad Bunny. (In addition to appearing on a bunch of remixes, the guys previously worked on...

The Latin Grammy-winning Colombian artist J Balvin parked a ginormous inflatable spaceship on Coachella’s main stage Sunday night, kicking off an epic reggaeton rave under the stars.
Balvin opened the festivities with his 2017 moombahton smash, “Mi Gente,” the same song he performed with Beyoncé during her historic Homecoming show — and his Coachella debut. Six years later, Balvin’s catalog has been expanded and blended creatively with different genres, as has reggaeton’s sound. Stationed at the turntables was star producer and reggaeton master Tainy, who integrated spells of house...

When I first learned that Bad Bunny's sold-out Most Wanted Tour included three back-to-back shows at the Barclays Center in NYC and one that landed on my birthday, April 11, it all seemed meant to be. The concert would occur three days after a highly anticipated solar eclipse, a new moon, and all during a Mercury retrograde. It would also happen during Aries season - the beginning of the astrological year and a time for new beginnings. While I had high expectations for Benito's performance and his first NYC show from the tour, one thing that stood out most is how the Puerto Rican artist continues to appreciate and celebrate his loyal Latine fans.
Bad Bunny is the most-streamed artist on the planet. This fun fact never loses its significance for loyal Latine fans who have witnessed the struggle for Latin music to get the respect and support it deserves here in the States.

Featuring famed directors such as Argentina’s Ariel Rotter and Spain’s Benito Zambrano, who have not only played but won at Berlin and San Sebastian respectively, Malaga’s 19-pic out of competition strand is a testament to the buyer-driven pulling power of Malaga , thanks to its significant market.
Multiple other name auteurs pack out the selection, which also includes a far stronger line is broad audience comedies than most festivals would risk.
This is certainly territory for discoveries and breakouts – a healthy Málaga tradition.
A brief drill down on titles:
“La Bandera”
Director: Martín Cuervo
“La Bandera,” produced by Álamo Producciones Audiovisuales and Idesia Films, humorously unfolds a family’s inheritance dispute, in the sense that sons, Aitor Luna and Miquel Fernández, aren’t getting what they expected from their father played by Spanish veteran actor Imanol Arias.

Residente is no stranger to making controversial art. On Wednesday, the Puerto Rican rap star released his intensely graphic short film for “Quiero Ser Baladista,” or “I Want to Be a Ballad Singer,” in which he calls out the commercialism of the Latin music industry with the help of Ricky Martin.
The video opens with the rapper being shot in an elevator as his killer places a hat with his signature [R] logo back on his head. Somber violin plays in the background, and quickly, the rapper continues dropping bars even...
