Chris Pratt’s work in Parks and Recreation or Parks and Rec made him land major franchises like the MCU and Jurassic World. To make it funnier, the Marvel actor improvised his scenes throughout the show. Pratt’s improvisation also led him to deliver the best joke in the show in its third season.
The co-creator of the show, Michael Scur, described that as a writer, he was extremely angry to see the Marvel actor going off-script to present the memorable scene from the show.

For the past eight seasons, Jake Peralta, Ray Holt, Terry Jeffords, Rosa Diaz, Amy Santiago, Charles Boyle, Hitchcock, and Scully made us laugh, dance, sing, cry, and laugh again throughout each tremendous season. However, part of the big reason that Brooklyn Nine-Nine is such a memorable show is because of the numerous guest stars that have appeared throughout the series. The series always managed to find a hilarious way of incorporating notable names into the big world of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Though the series ended in 2021, the impact it made has kept it relevant long in pop culture. To celebrate...

Police everywhere in the world are an integral part of upholding law and order intact. Keeping that in mind, New York in the 1980s has been a subject of exploration by many filmmakers for a while. It was a time when the city was plagued with many issues and concerns regarding the social structure and the people of the city. The crime rate was high, minorities were subjected to scrutiny frequently, and the city infrastructure was bad, to say the least. Talking about these concerns is the Netflix original Eric. The cops could not be trusted, and the people found it hard to navigate the city because of the growing issues of narcotics supply and the crimes that followed.

After waging war with House Atreides in Dune: Part Two, Dave Bautista trades his Harkonnen armor for something more discrete as he slips into the role of a hitman on borrowed time in The Killer’s Game trailer. Lionsgate shared the first trailer, poster, and images for the upcoming action comedy from director J.J. Perry. The promo features the former wrestler-turned-Hollywood superstar as an assassin with a dry wit fighting for his life after receiving a false diagnosis from his doctor. Thinking he’s suffering from a terminal illness and only has three months to live, Bautista’s hitman, Joe Flood, must survive an onslaught of savvy killers looking to collect his head.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Killer’s Game courtesy of Lionsgate:

Following The Big Bang Theory’s immense success, Young Sheldon went back to the past exploring Sheldon Cooper’s earlier years in his family house in Texas before he moved to California for better perspectives and met his best friend Leonard there.
With a significant time jump that the prequel makes, it was hardly possible to ever bring some of the original characters to Young Sheldon, yet the show proved the contrary by reuniting Sheldon’s younger and adult versions in the finale. However, the prequel also featured another major character that was seen in The Big Bang Theory, and this time it is indeed very hard to believe.
For those who were left heartbroken after Young Sheldon’s ending and opted for rewatching the original show to fill the void, one actor in a cameo role may appear to be pretty much familiar. Season 5 episode 11 introduces Jimmy Speckerman, a...

Our TV choices say a lot about our personalities. If we only watch analytical docudramas or super historically accurate shows, it probably means that we use these series to learn about something and try not to waste our time on meaningless stuff. But is it really bad to binge bizarre shows?
Of course, documentaries can be riveting, but sometimes you just need something to turn your brain off and help you relax. We think the best shows to give you that feeling are the weird comedies (sometimes with a little pinch of supernatural thrown in).
Resident Alien is the perfect example of a show that is both lighthearted and easy to watch, but also extremely interesting in its storytelling and with complex characters worth following.
So if you liked that show, these 5 will be to your taste as well.

It’s been a couple of months since CBS dropped a bombshell saying So Help Me Todd will not be back to the screens with its third season, stepping down for another potentially big series to get its time slot, and fans’ outrage hasn't quietened down to this day.
Started as a mere discussion where So Help Me Todd lovers were sharing their thoughts about possible reasons for such a decision, the whole fuss later turned into a big campaign calling out to the network and somehow forcing them to bring the show back by creating a petition that so far has garnered an impressive amount of supporters.
Still, CBS has been quite indifferent to fans’ demands and the chances for So Help Me Todd to be brought back to the screens aren’t so high, but the rioting activists surely had a pretty clear vision of how things would...

You would be hard-pressed to find a person alive who doesn't know who Harrison Ford is.

“White Collar,” the police procedural that concluded on USA in 2014, made its debut on Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings with 717 million minutes watched during the April 22-28 viewing window, landing in the No. 8 position.
The decade-old show’s viewership bump is thanks to what has recently become known as the Netflix effect; the streaming service has seen big success licensing titles with high episode counts that have previously finished their runs on other platforms.
But unlike “Suits,” the best example of this for its historic Nielsen run in summer 2023, “White Collar” took three weeks to make it to the chart, having been added to Netflix on April 1. This is unusual, as titles like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Killing Eve” made the overall Top 10 immediately after their Netflix debuts as well, while “White Collar” hasn’t even been on the list of the Top 10 acquired titles before now.

Today, Netflix released viewership data for the second half of 2023. The numbers shine a light on what worked, what flopped, and how Netflix may move forward in the future.

The most-watched show on Netflix in the second half of 2023 was “One Piece.” The live-action remake of an anime classic racked up an incredible 71.6 million views and over 541 million hours. The easy conclusion is that Netflix should greenlight more live-action remakes of anime shows, right? Well, maybe not.
One of Netflix’s most high-profile flops was the live-action “Cowboy Bebop,” which hit the platform in November 2021. Although it hit the Netflix Top 10 list for three weeks, the show declined 59% in viewing hours from its second week to its third. Netflix canceled the show less than a month after its debut.
Netflix’s remake of “Avatar: The Last Airbender” was a hit this year.

“Killing Eve” made its way onto Nielsen’s weekly streaming rankings for the April 15-21 viewing window, enjoying a similar effect as titles like “Suits” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” that have seen increased popularity upon being added to Netflix despite having concluded years ago. The BBC thriller was watched for 719 million minutes in its first week on the streamer, landing at No. 8 on the chart.
But an interesting aspect of the series’ surge is the demographic breakdown of its audience. Per Nielsen, one third of “Killing Eve” viewership this week came from people age 65 and above, representing the largest concentration of viewers. That’s a surprise for a series perhaps most famous for the sexual tension between its two female leads, with one being a psychopathic assassin.

Man, we didn't know how good we had it, did we? For those of us who grew up watching cable TV as a simple matter of course, looking back on what we took for granted might as well feel like taking a peek at an alternate dimension. Receiving access to dozens (and eventually hundreds) of channels for a flat monthly rate? In an environment that allowed movies to receive a second wind and thrive after their theatrical run came to a close? Giving countless television shows a chance to grow their viewership over time? All while writers and directors were paid the residuals they deserved every time their work aired? In this economy???

Not Dead Yet was canceled after the second season, and this network's decision probably resonates with the impressions of most fans. While the first season drew viewers to their screens thanks to a successful mix of personal stories of the characters and a supernatural aspect with ghosts from obituaries, the second season disappointed many fans – it became a workplace sitcom and lost almost all of its charm.
But for Not Dead Yet fans, it's not time to get upset yet – because there is another sitcom about spirits that, let's face it, is superior to the series with Gina Rodriguez in every way. And this series is Ghosts.
What is Ghosts About?

The plot of Ghosts revolves around an old mansion that is unexpectedly inherited by the main characters – a couple from New York. The initial joy at the sudden gift of fate is replaced by an unexpected circumstance – the house...

Reese Witherspoon has bent and snapped her way into a full-fledged “Legally Blonde” empire.
After playing L.A. sorority girl turned Harvard Law School student — and arguably, feminist icon — Elle Woods in 2001, Witherspoon has led sequel “Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde” and is slated to star in a third film written by Mindy Kaling and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” co-creator Dan Goor. Kaling previously teased that the third film will center on Elle Woods reevaluating both her career and her perspective on life at age 42, telling Time magazine that she would never want the character to “be canceled or become a Karen.”
While the status of that trilogy installment is still unknown, given that the feature was announced in 2022, Witherspoon has turned instead to building out the “Legally Blonde” brand through TV.
IndieWire can confirm that a “Legally Blonde” prequel series titled “Elle” is in the works at Prime Video, with Witherspoon producing.

I love it when Nicolas Cage goes for the gusto. My family constantly quoted his "Moonstruck" meltdown when I was growing up ("I lost my hand! I lost my bride!") and I'll take any excuse I can get to yell "Not the bees!" or "I'm a vampire!" in my everyday life. But I will also take Cage doing the kind of restrained, internal, and otherwise non-flashy acting that tends to get ignored by the Oscars over a movie that calls on him to dial things up to 11 in a calculated bid at future viral success every day of the week.
Michael Sarnoski's "Pig" -- which the Academy tellingly snubbed -- is one such film. The low-budget 2021 drama casts Cage as Robin "Rob" Feld, a formerly distinguished chef who's forced to abandon his solitary existence foraging for truffles in the woods when his beloved truffle-sniffing pig is kidnapped. Looking at the crop of new scripted series selected by the broadcast networks for 2024-25, one cannot help but reminisce about the 20th anniversary of what may have been broadcast television’s greatest season ever.
The 2004-05 season introduced several genre-defying series — all but one based on original ideas — whose impact on TV storytelling is still being felt: Lost, Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, House, The Office and Veronica Mars. Remarkably, one of them, Grey’s Anatomy is still around, having just been renewed by ABC for Season 21, along with another show that premiered that same season, animated comedy American Dad!.
Aside from the fact that the current economic realities of the TV business will likely never support another drama going to 21 seasons, broadcast networks will also likely never take chances on so many unconventional ideas: a sci-fi drama on a deserted island that set the tone for modern genre fare, a...

Prime Video has touted the viewer response to Fallout as its second-biggest series ever worldwide over 16 days of release. In the United States (and over a shorter time period), it’s No. 1.
Fallout recorded 2.9 billion minutes of viewing time in the U.S. over its first five days, according to Nielsen’s streaming ratings for April 8-14. That’s far and away the best opening for a series on the Amazon-owned Prime Video, beating Reacher’s series premiere week in early 2022 (1.84 billion minutes) by more than a billion minutes.
The series also had more than double the second-place show on the list for the week: Bluey had 1.39 billion minutes of viewing in the week leading up to and including the release of its special episode “The Sign,” which premiered on April 14.

A new mockumentary series set in the world of “The Office” is not only being developed — but was just picked up by Peacock. “The Office” creator Greg Daniels and “Nathan for You” co-creator Michael Koman’s untitled project has been ordered to series, produced by Utv.
The untitled Daniels/Koman project will star Irish film star Domhnall Gleeson and “The White Lotus” Season 2 breakout Sabrina Impacciatore, as well as an ensemble cast that has yet to be announced. According to a press release from Peacock, the documentary crew behind “The Office” (who stepped out from behind the camera in controversial later seasons) is back to work looking for a new subject, “when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.” Like Dunder Mifflin’s struggle with selling paper in the digital age, the series’ synopsis suggests that it will tackle the...

Showrunners are the creative visionaries of a series.
They might not be the original creators, but they cover all aspects of the creative elements, evolve the show's vision, and decide where the story and character arcs will go.
They run the writing rooms, head the development, hire writers, and ensure actors are kept happy and that the budget is not exceeded.
Series are usually a collective effort, with writers giving their thoughts, but showrunners have the final say and are essential.
Where would the industry be without people like Shonda Rhimes, Matt and Ross Duffer (Stranger Things), and Ryan Murphy?
It would be mundane and repetitive.
Intelligent and prolific showrunners are the difference between a hit and a flop.
They set an unwavering tone for their ideas, and consistency is vital.

Filmmaker Barry Jenkins, the mastermind behind critically acclaimed pieces of work like Moonlight and If Beale Street Could Talk, is returning to the big screens. This time, he has another presumed masterpiece prepared for fans, which is also the prequel to the live-action The Lion King from 2019: Mufasa: The Lion King. That being said, he has quite a bit to talk about the upcoming movie.

But of all the factors that have contributed to the making of this soon-to-be-released adventure musical, Jenkins is incredibly grateful to one Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor who was the genius brains behind the songs for his movie. Exclusive: Charithra Chandran, who broke out playing Edwina Sharma in Netflix’s smash regal series Bridgerton, has spoken out against an entertainment industry mentality that she feels pits people of color against each other.
Chandran, who was speaking to Deadline in the days before her debut West End play wraps, said she has “never pictured myself as a role model” but “a lot of young girls follow me on social media, so I do feel a sense of responsibility.”
Actors including Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel, Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Melissa Fumero and Aubrey Plaza have spoken out in the past about there being limited spaces for people of color in TV and movies.

Netflix’s 3 Body Problem delivered its second straight No. 1 showing among streaming titles, leading the rankings for the last week of March. The acquired series top 10 had several new entrants, thanks in part to a change in how Nielsen reports the numbers.
The ratings service says it made an “enhancement” to its Streaming Content Ratings, which is the basis for the weekly top 10 lists, that results in a number of programs being added to the Scr product. (They weren’t previously “due to business agreements which preceded the rankings, coupled with the associated technical aspects of measurement.”) The affected programs stream mostly on Hulu and Peacock after airing on linear networks.
The upshot is that former Fox series The Resident (1.48 billion minutes on Hulu and Netflix) and animated mainstays Family Guy (837 million minutes on Hulu) and American Dad (619 million on Hulu) all made their first appearance in the top...

ously unavailable. Per Nielsen, a combination of previous business agreements and technical aspects of measurement prevented several acquired series from inclusion in its weekly rankings, and while most of those titles would not have made the Top 10 anyways, some are debuting for the first time thanks to more accurate analysis.
Among those titles is “The Resident,” which appeared on the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for the first time during this viewing window in the No. 2 position with 1.5 billion minutes watched. The medical procedural ran on Fox for six seasons from 2018 to 2023 before being canceled, and has seen increased popularity since being added to Netflix in early March, though it was already available on Hulu.
“Family Guy” also jumped onto the overall Top 10 because of the measurement update, taking sixth place with 837 million minutes watched. And on the chart of the Top 10 acquired titles, the update drove “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” to No.
