- Art designer Susan Winslow learns she's pregnant, and not wanting to marry the father estranges her from her elitist parents, Evelyn and Warren. Luckily, she has neighbor Harold, a gruff author, to lean on as a single mother.
- Alexandra McKay is a woman who's been blind for twenty years and is afraid that people will just try to get close to her because of her condition, so she ultimately stays to herself and her trusty guide dog, Emma. When Richard Chapman enters her life, a romance develops and McKay begins to let the outside world in to her private world. - While Jack waits for Janet at the flower shop, the place is held up. They report the crime to the police, and Jack has his picture taken and put in the paper as a witness. A policeman guards Jack at the apartment since he is a marked man.
- Cindy is being pursued by a guy who doesn't take no for an answer. Jack decides to go on their date posing as her brother to tell him she doesn't want him. But the guy is so wealthy, Jack can't help but be impressed.

- Janet is married and starts her new life. Terry announces she is moving to Hawaii. Vicki and Jack get back together but she does not want to get married. Since her parents divorced, she does not believe in marriage, but she will live with him.
- When Furley refuses to stand up to his brother and tell him that he has to fix the apartment building, Jack goes and talks to him. The guy is impressed with Jack that he makes him the new building manager leaving Furley out in the cold. They try to come up with a plan to get him alone so that Furley can finally stand up to him.
- A building inspector claims that there's a minor infraction at Jack's restaurant which gives him cause to have it closed unless Jack pays him off. The girls tell him to record the man soliciting a pay off. He calls the police and a detective comes and plays the tape, Jack leaves for a moment and the cop only hears Jack's earlier conversation with Furley about "pot" "from Mexico" that could be costly. So the police go after Furley.
- Janet is tired of her reliable image so she decides to cut loose and join a demonstration at a nude beach with Mrs. Roper in tow.
