Oliver Bayldon
British designer and writer (12 September 1938 - 23 December 2019). Well-known as a Production Designer in Television and Film, winning design awards including a BAFTA and Royal Television Society Award and nominations for BBC programmes such as the Onedin Line and When the Boat Comes In. Oliver designed The Fight Against Slavery, Dark Angel, Mill on the Floss, several of the BBC Shakespeares, plus Poldark, TV plays, and many early comedy series. He held one-man exhibitions at the Royal Society of Arts, the British Film and TV Academy, and Northampton. Oliver wrote short stories for BBC Radio 4, the World Service and the Evening Standard and short screenplays for various projects. The Papermaker's Art (his adaptation of a Latin poem) for 12x8 Press is still avidly collected.
