The TV academy has honored voice-only performances since 1992, when six cast members from “The Simpsons” collectively became the first actors to receive Emmys for such work. The Best Voice-Over Performance category became an official non-juried one in 2009 and was then split into two categories in 2014: Best Character Voice-Over and Best Narrator. Harry Shearer (“The Simpsons”) made history as the former category’s first champion, having been nominated once before for the same series.
The 2022 Best Character Voice-Over ballot list below consists of a whopping 222 performances. Seeking a third consecutive victory is Maya Rudolph, who plays Connie the Hormone Monstress on “Big Mouth.” Also in the mix are former winners Shearer, Hank Azaria (“The Simpsons”), Alex Borstein (“Family Guy”), and Seth MacFarlane (“Family Guy”).
Unlike the live action and fictional program nominees, which are chosen by all 22,000 plus academy members, the Best Character Voice-Over contenders are picked only by voters...

Creatives behind The Simpsons shared new details about Season 33 on Saturday, revealing that it will feature a musical premiere, an expanded “Treehouse of Horror” episode and more.
During a Comic-Con@Home panel teasing the new season, executive producer Matt Selman described premiere episode “The Star of the Backstage” as the “most musical episode we’ve ever done”—”like a Broadway musical of an episode with wall to wall music.”
The season’s first episode will feature an assortment of original songs. Actress Kristen Bell (Frozen) will handle singing for Marge, the Simpsons matriarch played by Julie Kavner.
EP Al Jean later announced that this year’s “Treehouse of Horror Xxxii” episode will feature five segments, rather than the traditional set of three, presenting one of the five to the virtual Comic-Con audience.
He subsequently touched on two other upcoming episodes. One may see romance come to stick in the life...

Unbeknown to many Apex Legends players, developer Respawn Entertainment may already be teasing the battle royale’s next character.
Revenant, like Season 3’s Crypto, has long been rumored to join the shooter’s roster thanks to a huge number of data mining efforts and hints supplied by the studio itself. Up until now, though, all we’ve had to go on is a name, but thanks to a recent leak, all of the seemingly unconnected puzzle pieces are slowly slotting together. The document in question, which you can see below, depicts a number of heroes currently in the works at Respawn HQ, all in varying stages of development.
Top of the list under the subheader ‘Production’ is Crypto, Revenant and Loba.

Following the usual barrage of leaks and rumors, Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment finally confirmed last week the imminent arrival of a new event.
Pathfinder voice actor Chris Edgerly corroborated the long-held suspicion as part of an interview, promising that fans would love what the developer has planned for the battle royale’s first Halloween celebrations. To the surprise of absolutely nobody, of course, nearly every ounce of information provided by data miners and the like have been accurate, but regardless, it’s nice to have everything in writing, so to speak. Besides, there are a few interesting tidbits peppered throughout the official announcement you may not be aware of.
Without further ado, let’s dig in!

October may have only just begun, but Respawn is already prepping Apex Legends for Halloween, it seems. Several months back, data miners discovered several graphical assets and references to a spooktastic event featuring giant spiders and other creepy crawlies. The developer has yet to confirm said invasion of overgrown arachnids, but we now know for a fact that the battle royale will celebrate the year’s scariest holiday in some form or fashion.
That much was confirmed by Pathfinder voice actor Chris Edgerly in a recent interview, who revealed that the robot will play an integral role in the limited-time affair. Beyond that, however, fans have remained largely in the dark in regards to the festivities that will be on offer in just a few week’s time. Well, until now, that is.

As if a brand new season wasn’t enough content to satiate the appetites of Apex Legends‘ player base, it seems Respawn already has plans in place for future updates in the form of a new limited-time event. Despite being forced to suffer through several months of content drought around launch, recent times have seen fans inundated with special celebratory occasions such as Iron Crown Collection and Voidwalker, the latter of which ultimately proved to be a home run for the developer.
It goes without saying, then, that Season 3 will continue where its predecessor left off in that regard, and thanks to recent comments provided by Pathfinder voice actor Chris Edgerly, we now know what shape Apex‘s next event will take. Speaking to Dexerto, Edgerly revealed that Halloween will soon make its mark on Kings Canyon (or will it be World’s Edge?) with a raft of festivities not to be missed.

Classic cartoon lovers rejoice! That fantastic feline superstar returns to UK movie screens in just a few weeks. As the Hoyt Curtin TV theme proclaims, “…but above everything, he’s the most tip top…Top Cat!”. Tc, as close friends call him, did indeed debut on American TV screens on the then fledgling ABC network in September of 1961 (talk about your nine lives!). This show, along with “The Jetsons” and “Jonny Quest” was an attempt by animation studio Hanna-Barbera to replicate the prime time success of that “modern stone-age family “The Flintstones” just a year or so before. Unfortunately Tc was not the rating smash that Fred and company were, so only one season (30 half hour episodes) were produced. But the kitty con-artist and his pals endured as a Saturday morning staple, then a syndicated smash. As beloved as the show was in its native Us, “Top Cat” was an even bigger hit overseas,...

I hope I’m not going to negate any of my assiduously collated street credibility, but when I was little I used to really like Top Cat. Looking back, I believe I’m correct in saying that it was a reasonably witty and funny programme and it’s not simply nostalgia that’s influencing these fond memories. I remember my sister and I used to watch a Top Cat VHS that we won in a competition run by Little Chef pretty much on loop some days. So when I was invited to attend the preview screening of Tc’s big screen debut, I was cautiously excited about it. Obviously, the film is aimed very much at youngsters, but surely there’d be plenty...

Disney Xd, which is rebranding from Toon Disney in February, is partnering with daredevil "Kaptain" Robbie Knievel for a 2-D animated comedy series about a 12-year-old boy who wants to become the world's greatest daredevil.
"Kid Knievel," from Walt Disney Television Animation, marks the first animated show for Disney Xd, which is primarily targeted at boys ages 6-14 and their families. Knievel will serve as a stunt consultant on the series, which is in production for a fall 2009 premiere.
The series centers on a boy (voiced by Chris Edgerly) -- short in stature but big in heart -- who, inspired by Knievel, overcomes incredible obstacles in his quest to become the world's greatest and most extreme daredevil.
Matt Jones and Danny Cooksey also voice roles in the show, which was created by Sandro Corsaro. Chris Savino is the executive producer and director.
