In the final moments of “Feud: Capote vs. the Swans,” episode seven, Tom Hollander’s Truman Capote is dying. His last words are “Beautiful Babe,” referencing his Swan Babe Paley, played by Naomi Watts. The following episode, the season finale is aptly titled “Phantasm Forgiveness,” a dreamscape scenario that hops between the past, present and future.
In an imagined scenario, Capote continues drafting his book “Answered Prayers” and imagines his character P.B Jones apologizing and making amends as he seeks forgiveness. In the show, Capote betrays his close circle of New York’s high society circle of powerful women known as the Swans by publishing a story titled “La Côte Basque, 1965” in Esquire and revealing their secrets. The Swans include Babe, C.Z. Guest (Chloë Sevigny) and Slim Keith (Diane Lane).
Speaking at Variety’s TV FYC Fest, executive producer and writer Jon Robin Baitz explained his approach to that final episode.

General Hospital viewers were sad to learn that although Nicholas Alexander Chavez’s leave was temporary, it was made permanent.
Sprina fans had rooted for the couple, with a huge fan base growing because of Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Spencer.
She was backburnered while Nicholas was filming a Ryan Murphy show about the Menendez brothers, but it seems the General Hospital writers are ready to use her again.
The young adult scene has dwindled over the years. It was once a huge part of the show, especially when Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Lucky (Jonathan Jackson), Nikolas (Tyler Christopher), and Emily (Natalia Livingston) were a part of the show.
Giovanni Mazza (Gio) joined the show with a contract and is connected to the Cerullos, Falconeris, and Sonny (Maurice Benard).
Living at the Quartermaine mansion is a perk, but his intrigue with Trina will heat things up.

General Hospital Ratings In A Free Fall Amid Backstage Changes?
General Hospital has been going through some major changes, both onscreen and off. A head writer change in January 2024 gave fans hope of better stories and more air time for beloved vets.
But the storylines from the new head writers weren’t a hit with viewers either. Just months after a promotion, Patrick Mulcahey was out, leaving Elizabeth Korte as the sole head writer of the ABC sudser.
One huge onscreen change was the return of Jason Morgan when Steve Burton returned to the show after a three year absence. But fans were devastated when it was confirmed that Nicholas Chavez wasn’t coming back to the role of Spencer Cassadine...

Jonathan Groff spent two years in the Tony-nominated role of Melchior Gabor in Spring Awakening.
Then another role was offered. It was in TV’s Glee, joining his Spring Awakening co-star, Lea Michele.
Groff thought about it, then turned it down.
“I really felt like I didn’t want to sign on to be a singing teenager again for another seven years, which I had just done for two years in Spring Awakening,” he tells Vanity Fair in an interview.
This was even after EP Ryan Murphy told him that he had written Glee with Groff and Michele in mind.

Ryan Murphy first offered Glee to Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele, but Groff turned it down.
“I really felt like I didn’t want to sign on to be a singing teenager again for another seven years,” Groff told Vanity Fair this week. At the time, he was 23 and had just finished a two-year run of playing a teenager in Broadway’s Spring Awakening with Michele.
“Ryan Murphy had told Lea Michele and I that he had written this show Glee for the two of us, and would we be interested in doing that?” Groff recalled, saying he ultimately said no.
“I really wanted to act. I love singing but doing that felt like more of the same as opposed to something that would be an opportunity for artistic growth,” he said. “And that next year, I did three off-Broadway plays.”
Groff said he has no regrets about the choice he made.

Kim Kardashian revealed that she was blown away by the accuracy of the portrayal of her father, Robert Kardashian, in Ryan Murphy’s The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story.
“I loved it,” Kardashian said of the celebrated mini-series in a new conversation with Chloë Sevigny for Variety. “Some people were over and they hadn’t seen it — I watched it years and years ago — and I wanted to see if my recollection was right on the portrayal of my dad. Kim Kardashian and Chloë Sevigny share a love of high fashion, classic Hollywood glam — and Ryan Murphy, one of television’s most prolific creators, who also happens to be their mutual boss. Kardashian has appeared on television as herself since 2007; she currently can be seen on Season 5 of “The Kardashians” on Hulu. Now the reality star and influencer is transforming into an actor and producer of scripted projects. Kardashian’s first series regular role was on the recent season of FX’s “American Horror Story: Delicate,” in which she played Siobhan, a personal publicist with a double identity as a witch who draws power from Satan. The actor made an appearance on The View, where he opened up about his experience.

Colfer played Kurt on the Ryan Murphy-created series. His character struggled with coming to terms with his sexuality and the reception his friends would have of him.

Naomi Watts had a ton of written material and photographs to research her role as legendary New York City socialite Babe Paley for the Ryan Murphy limited Series “Feud: Truman vs. The Swans.” That helped fashion a physical transformation that involved contact lenses, incredible wigs, makeup, and two different sets of false teeth that, it turns out, were an integral part of her character’s temperament. What she couldn’t find were any video or audio of Paley, somewhat remarkable considering her longtime close friend, Truman Capote (played by Tom Hollander), was a fixture in front of any camera or microphone he could find.

The actor gives an astonishing, awards-worthy performance as a stage star with dementia in a slight yet powerful TV movie
There’s an almighty performance super-powering HBO’s mysteriously handled TV movie The Great Lillian Hall, an elegant Broadway-set drama blessed with an all-consuming Jessica Lange. It’s her first film lead since 2006 (even before then it was in 1998) and it’s one that almost wasn’t hers to have. It had originally been announced in 2021 as Places, Please, with Meryl Streep headlining, an actor who has swallowed up the few meaty roles for older women in Hollywood, a sign not of her rapaciousness, of course, but of an industry’s dire lack. More roles have appeared at a glacial pace but mostly in an episodic format, a world that’s allowed Lange a route back to the limelight.

For our recent webchat she adds, “What I love so much about this show is that there’s no good guys, but we empathize at different moments with all of the characters. Everyone inhabits a real humanness and in inhabiting that humanness, of course, everybody is flawed. I loved the idea of Truman Capote always listening, always with the typewriter going on, as everybody was always scheming. It’s actually part of what makes the story so powerful. As shallow as human beings can get and as deep as human beings can get, what does it mean to be on your deathbed and to regret a friendship lost? That’s so profound. So,...

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift continue to make headlines during the NFL offseason in 2024. Swift is busy with her European leg of “The Eras Tour,” and fans attending her concerts hope to catch a glimpse of Kelce. Unfortunately, it seems Swift doesn’t see much of Kelce during the tour. Here’s what a source said about Swift feeling “panicked” over not regularly seeing Kelce while performing.
Taylor Swift allegedly feels ‘very anxious’ over the time spent apart from Travis Kelce during ‘The Eras Tour’
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce kept their relationship under the radar in 2023. However, by 2024, they were entirely out in the open. The mega pop star and the NFL tight end seem like the perfect couple. Swift regularly attended Kelce’s games with the Kansas City Chiefs, and Kelce heads to Swift’s concerts whenever possible. Jessica Lange may have hinted at her own retirement for years, but the legendary actress is actually playing it out onscreen with her latest film “The Great Lillian Hall.”
Lange stars as the titular (fictional) iconic stage actress who grapples with her own legacy amid a dementia diagnosis. Her daughter (Lily Rabe) struggles with separating her mother Lillian from her Broadway fame, while Kathy Bates, Jesse Williams, and Pierce Brosnan round out the cast.
“I have lived my entire life in a place that creates illusions,” Lange says in the trailer as Lillian. Yet upon her cognizant decline, what’s real anymore, anyway?
“The Great Lillian Hall” is directed by Michael Cristofer. The official synopsis reads: “As beloved Broadway star Lillian Hall (Lange) pours her heart, soul, and time into preparing for her next big role, she finds herself blindsided by confusion and forgetfulness. Battling against all odds to make it to opening night,...

“It was fun to pivot,” shares Lou Eyrich about the change of milieu from the first to second installments of FX’s anthology series “Feud.” She was the costume designer on the first season “Bette and Joan” back in 2017, and though she now mostly collaborates with Ryan Murphy as a producer, she seized on the opportunity to return as costumer for “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.” The designer describes the difference between the two sets of episodes as “going from a Hollywood movie perspective to this elite group of socialite jet-setters in New York, Manhattan, at the time, and they were the original influencers.” Gold Derby spoke with Eyrich as part of our “Meet the Experts” TV costume design panel. Watch our exclusive video interview above.

Of L.A.’s two NBA teams, the Clippers have always been like the neglected little brother next to the more glamorous and celebrated Lakers. So it’s fitting, then, that FX’s new Clippers chronicle Clipped — premiering Tuesday, June 4 exclusively on Hulu; I’ve seen all six episodes — pales in comparison to HBO’s superior Lakers saga Winning Time. A gaudy and campy basketball docudrama sung in the key of Ryan Murphy (though Murphy isn’t involved in this production), Clipped bites off far more than it can chew. It’s part underdog sports drama, part overheated soap opera...

The peacock has officially flown the coop. Sunday’s American Idol finale marked Katy Perry’s last episode as a judge, and she was given quite the send-off.

The 12th edition of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s popular anthology series debuted on September 20, 2023. It ran for five episodes before being placed on hold due to delays caused by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
The season, which followed Emma Roberts‘ character, rising actress Anna Victoria Alcott, through her turbulent pregnancy and stalking by an enigmatic cult, resumed in April 2024 with the release of the last four episodes.
While the infamous show is known for causing many mishaps, this time, the absence of resolution in the April 24th season finale left fans with a bad taste, eventually leading to one of the worst episode ratings ever.

Doctor Odyssey, ABC’s new cruise ship procedural premiering this fall, is “Ryan Murphy at his outrageous, over-the-top best,” reports Joshua Jackson.
From 9-1-1 creator Murphy, Doctor Odyssey stars Fringe alum Jackson as Max, the new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship “where the staff works hard and plays harder,” says the ABC synopsis. “It’s all hands on deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore.”

I’m going to tell you something that will instantly rattle a millennial body to its core: “Glee,” the Fox musical dramedy that became a phenomenon before becoming a dark cultural tale, premiered 15 years ago, on May 19, 2009.
To make you feel slightly better about the passage of time, that date is a bit of a cheat: Because Fox suspected it had an honest-to-goodness hit on its hands, the network premiered the first episode after the “American Idol” Season 8 finale in May, before beginning the full season a few months later in September.
Still, May 19 was the day the world first was re-reminded of the wonder of “Don’t Stop Believin,’” witnessed the instantly iconic combo of cringe and charisma that was Rachel Berry/Lea Michele, and considered the shocking declaration that someone could be both an athlete and a singer.

Joshua Jackson, star of Ryan Murphy’s Doctor Odyssey, teased a bit about the anticipated new drama series set for premiere this fall on ABC.
In a red carpet interview with Deadline at Disney’s upfront earlier this week, Jackson said the show is in “deep pre-production” with shooting to begin in about four weeks. He added, “the sets are all built” and “look amazing, the cast is mostly together, the scripts are written and we’re just ready to go.”
In addition to Jackson, Don Johnson, Phillipa Soo and Sean Teale also star.
As with all Ryan Murphy series, no details about the premise or character descriptions are being revealed. We do know that Jackson is playing a Doctor. “Ryan Murphy doesn’t write normal procedural television, so the world that this doctor lives in is going to be as over the top and outrageous as you would expect from Ryan Murphy,...

Timed to coincide with TV’s upfronts in New York, a real estate-focused event that also calls itself the Upfronts — a luxury property reveal thrown by The Society Group — took over The Wallis in Beverly Hills on May 15. Held in the Bram Goldsmith Theater, the confab saw L.A.’s biggest power brokers gather to preview some of the world’s most luxurious listings coming to market.

Despite a few technical Av hiccups, the Upfronts ran like clockwork, with exuberant presenters giving succinct pitches to an involved audience about new-to-market skyscraper penthouses in NYC, $100 million-plus mansions in L.A. and even Hollywood production studios. Travis Kelce is feeling very grateful for his role in Ryan Murphy’s FX horror series Grotesquerie.
While Kelce knows his way around a football field, a filming set is a new territory. But he opened up in a recent episode of his New Heights podcast about his experience on set so far, starring opposite Niecy Nash-Betts.
“It’s been so much fun,” the three-time Super Bowl champion said. “Ryan Murphy is [an] unbelievable writer, director, producer, all of the above, man. He’s just — there’s nothing he can’t do and everybody’s just been so helpful in making me feel comfortable.”
He continued, “Even on top of that, just giving me kinda the direction I need and the coaching I need to portray this part that I’m in.”
Although most details surrounding the series have been kept under wraps, Nash-Betts confirmed Kelce’s involvement earlier this month in an Instagram video.

There are many changes coming to Grey's Anatomy, and not all of them will be exciting for the general audience. While the show has managed to survive major cast changes and allow Ellen Pompeo to explore other career opportunities outside of the medical drama she has been a part of for 20 years, it will now face another challenge.
Fans who are used to tuning in to Grey's Anatomy the old-fashioned way, by turning on the TV every Thursday at 9 p.m., will have to change their habits and stay up for an extra hour. Here's why ABC made the decision.
ABC 2024/2025 Fall Schedule Changes
Even though Grey's Anatomy has already been renewed for season 21, fans of the show still have plenty to worry about. First and foremost, ABC is moving the show an hour later into the night to 10 p.m., now that the schedule for the upcoming 2024/2025 broadcast season has been officially announced.

Every actor has a few films that might not have performed as well as they wanted, including blockbuster star Denzel Washington. But one box-office disappointment was different from the others, as it may have been a direct result of the O.J. Simpson verdict.
How the O.J. Simpson trial might’ve affected ‘Devil in a Blue Dress’ Denzel Washington | Miikka Skaffari/FilmMagic
Devil in a Blue Dress saw Oscar-winner Washington play Easy Rawlins, a private detective investigating a missing woman. The 1995 movie was based on a series of books that Washington and the film’s director Carl Franklin were interested in at the time. The fact that the film was about a black investigator in the 1940s added another layer to Franklin’s noir film for him to play with.
“It gives you another obstacle,” Franklin said in an interview with Slate. “Of course, obstacles are the key to drama.

If there were any lingering doubts that the Walt Disney Co. is now comfortable leaning into the edgier aspects of its increasingly aligned portfolio, they evaporated about 10 minutes into Tuesday’s upfront presentation when Ryan Reynolds promised that eventual Disney+ library member Deadpool & Wolverine would be a boon to advertisers targeting “testicular trauma” and “cocaine content.”
There was noticeably less cursing than during the week’s previous upfront events, at least until Jimmy Kimmel took the stage, but the embrace of Hard-r content was apparent from the pitch’s opening moments. Emma Stone, the Oscar-winning star of the Disney-produced Poor Things, was on hand to introduce Bob Iger — and, a month after he won his proxy fight with Nelson Peltz, voice her support for the recently embattled CEO.

The theme of Disney’s 2024 upfront presentation to advertisers Tuesday was “connections” — and not just because of the running bit started by “Deadpool” star Ryan Reynolds and “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Rob McElhenney, which involved their constant replaying of a five-second ad spot that said “Connections!” with a Disneyified logo and voiceover.
