Martial arts drama Warrior has been cancelled by Sky – but there’s an outside chance that Netflix may make more episodes.
Before he became an international kung fu superstar thanks to films like Way Of The Dragon, in which he famously went hand to hand with Chuck Norris in Rome’s Colosseum, and Enter The Dragon (which features an equally iconic climactic battle which takes place in a hall of mirrors), Bruce Lee was an integral part of what made seminal 1960s show The Green Hornet a huge success.
Although his film career soon took off, had things turned out differently Lee would have continued to make an impact on the small screen. He’s generally accepted as being involved in creating the concept for Kung Fu, the drama that eventually starred David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine, the pacifist who ended up in several fights every week.

The revival of Warrior at Max turned out to be short-lived: The Warner Bros. Discovery streamer has canceled the show after its first season as a Max original and third overall.
That said, the series — based on writings by Bruce Lee and set in 19th century San Francisco — will potentially get in front of more viewers beginning in February 2024 as all three seasons will stream on Netflix. Warrior will continue to be available on Max as well, similar to other non-exclusive streaming licensing deals Wbd has made with Netflix for HBO shows like Six Feet Under, Band of Brothers and Ballers.
Warrior began life as a Cinemax original series, premiering in 2019 to strong reviews. It was renewed for a second season that aired in fall 2020 — but by that time, Cinemax had wound down its originals business. The streamer then known as HBO Max revived it for a third season in...

Max’s “Warrior,” a breakthrough series boasting one of the few Asian ensembles on television, has been canceled after three seasons. The series’ repeats will live on, however, via a off-net deal with Netflix, which has acquired the series’ run in a non-exclusive deal and could now potentially expose it to a new audience. (The show will also continue to be available on Max.)
“Warrior” returned for its third season in June after a two-year hiatus. The show originally ran on linear cabler Cinemax (starting in 2019), and was revived after a fan base campaign. Andrew Koji, Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Dianne Doan, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Tom Weston-Jones, Hoon Lee, Perry Yung, Langley Kirkwood, Miranda Raison, Chen Tang, Chelsea Muirhead, Mark Dacascos and Joe Taslim star.
Shannon Lee is among the executive producers on “Warrior,” which was based on a concept by her father, Bruce Lee. Per the logline, “‘Warrior...

Warrior won’t be returning for a fourth season on Max.
However, the existing three seasons of the martial arts crime drama are set to find additional audiences as Netflix has picked up the series’ library in a co-exclusive deal with Max in Warner Bros. Discovery streamer’s markets.
Warrior is expected to debut on Netflix in February 2024. If it does well, Netflix could presumably order a new season of the drama based on an original concept and treatment by Bruce Lee, sources tell Deadline exclusively.
This latest move sets Warrior in its third home in as many years. The series premiered in 2019 on Cinemax where it ran for two seasons before it was announced in early 2020 that the network was moving out of the Originals business. Wbd sibling Max picked up the show for a third season in Spring of 2021 which premiered this summer with the season concluding on...

In Spare Parts, Andrew Thomas Hunt’s second directorial effort, an emerging all-female punk rock band from Canada – called Ms .45 – is touring the United States. Not long after one of their seedy bar gigs turns into a brawl, the four young women end up living a nightmare. The main scenario of the movie is a scrapyard, where the unthinkable happens. Women and men are subjected to a crazy surgery, their limbs are replaced with weapons such as an ax, a chainsaw or a flamethrower. Eventually, they become modern gladiators, under the yoke of the so-called Emperor (Julian Richings), his son (Jason Rouse) and other followers who want to please the gods with the spilling of blood....

In a godforsaken bar in the middle of nowhere – an all-girl punk band, Ms. 45, rip the stage apart with their anarchy spirit. Their performance impresses an enthusiastic fan who lures the girls into a trap, sedates them, and starts… customizing them. The four wake up with an axe, drill or chainsaw attached to one arm and are forced to fight gladiator-style, in an arena-style auto-wrecking yard for the amusement of the Emperor and his sadistic townsfolk. The women must now truly band together and use all of their talents if they’re going to get out alive.

Spare Parts is set in a godforsaken bar in the middle of nowhere where an all-girl band – Ms. 45 – rips the stage apart with their punk spirit. But their performance impresses an enthusiastic fan who lures the girls into a trap, sedates them, and starts…customizing them. Slowly they begin to gain consciousness and, in total shock, realize their arms have all been replaced with...

"What if I choose death instead?!" "You're not ready to die, so fight for your life." Rlje Films has released an official trailer for a crazy body horror punk rock film called Spare Parts, now set for release in June this summer. Made by Canadian filmmaker Andrew T. Hunt, the film follows an all-girl punk band named Ms. 45 - they get kidnapped after a show in the wrong part of town. They wake up to find that they’ve had their limbs replaced with crude mechanized weapons, and their only chance for survival is to fight in a dirty arena for the amusement of a blood-hungry cult. The film stars Michelle Argyris, Emily Alatalo, Jason Rouse, Kiriana Stanton, Chelsea Muirhead, Ryan Allen, and Julian Richings. It's described as "if Sushi Typhoon's Machine Girl gets a make-over with the staging props of Mad Max." We featured the teaser trailer for this last year,...

Punk Rock Gladiators. As far as genre movie set-ups go, few three-word combos could muster the same levels of excitement as Andrew Thomas Hunt’s Mad Max-inspired junkyard battle royale. Even with just those words, you can feel Spare Parts as the fun-loving, hyper-violent crowd movie it desperately wants to be; the sort of Rollerball-esque anti-sports, anti-underdog movie that rockets through the midnight circuit. So it’s a bit of a crying shame that a great deal of those lofty ambitions end up falling foul to a limbless script, and a budget that just won’t stretch far enough to deliver the goods.
Run off the road in the middle of a backwards desert town, all-female four-piece Ms. 45 find themselves prisoners in the middle of a literal trash-heap, and at the mercy of a decidedly backwards emperor (a slightly under-hammed Julian Richings). After a quick spot of junkyard...

There’s been something of a surge in female-led “cult” genre fare – mainly emanating from down under, films like Monstro Del Mar, Murder Drome, Fight...
