Combining the amazing Gun Fu moves that John Wick introduced, Spine is a new action title that takes advantage of the new Unreal Engine’s power to deliver an amazing gameplay experience. Like The Matrix, the story of the game will follow the relationships between artificial intelligence and humans.
The studio behind the game is Nekki, and they are trying to make players wishlist the title on Steam by promoting the astounding graphics and action that it will have. This game still has no official release date, but it will also be available for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The John Wick franchise producers at Thunder Road Pictures are partnering with longtime Screen Gems executive Scott Strauss to launch an independent genre label called Badlands, Deadline reports, and the first project to come our way from Badlands is the spider thriller Arachnid, which has Don’t Listen and El hombre del saco director Ángel Gómez Hernández attached to direct from a screenplay by Jayson Rothwell, whose previous credits include Silent Night (2012) and Polar. Spider horror movies seem to be all the rage, with Infested streaming on Shudder and Sting now available on Digital at home. And there’s another one on the way, with Deadline reporting that Matilda Lutz (Revenge) will star in an upcoming spider movie titled Arachnid.
The project is the first from the new genre label Badlands, a partnership between Thunder Road (John Wick) and Screen Gems executive Scott Strauss that Deadline first reported on.
Jayson Rothwell (Underworld: Blood Wars) wrote Arachnid, with Ángel Gómez (Voces) directing. Deadline notes, “the spider thriller is due to begin filming this July in Madrid.”
“I am lucky to be in business with Thunder Road and Renegade,” Strauss said in a statement shared by Deadline. “Badlands will be an extension of both companies’ entrepreneurial spirit and is moving quickly to acquire and produce a fresh slate of horror IP.”

I can’t say I have a vast knowledge, or much knowledge at all of Thai action films, but I was excited to check this latest one out – Kitty the Killer.
Now, of course, action movies have never gone away. They’ve been around forever but it feels like ever since John Wick, the revenge action film has been more popular than ever, and therefore, more and more are getting made. And Kitty the Killer has some similarities with John Wick and plenty of other popular action movies.
There is a revenge story here (although no dog this time), and there is a ‘Guardian’ of the killer (or killers) – another thing that has been popularized lately, see Killing Eve, The Kingsman, etc., and there are plenty of fight scenes.

John Wick is undeniably one of the most successful franchises by director Chad Stahelski, and a major milestone for Keanu Reeves as well who is so loved in the role that fans can’t imagine anyone else as the titular character besides him. However, even before the first movie’s launch, someone had brutally negative thoughts and predictions on how it would turn out to be.
John Wick.
Surprisingly enough, this someone was none other than the mastermind Stahelski himself, who even predicted that the film would be such a massive failure that it would go “straight to video.” But what’s even more stunning than the filmmaker’s own predictions on his blockbuster saga was the fact that Reeves was never supposed to lead the franchise the way he ended up doing!

Could the John Wick universe be poised to introduce an assassin even more formidable than the legendary Baba Yaga (Keanu Reeves) himself? Well, it seems the possibility is high since the acclaimed action franchise is expanding again with Donnie Yen’s enigmatic character, Caine, the blind master of lethality. For the unversed, he was introduced to us in John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023).

Lionsgate is now weaving a new tale in the form of a John Wick spinoff movie centered around Caine, with the veteran Hong Kong action hero, now 60, set to reprise the role again.
While speculation abounds and no director has been announced, the project, highlighted by the skilled hands of producers Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, the original series’ director Chad Stahelski, promises to carry the torch forward with authenticity.

The John Wick universe continues to grow, with Donnie Yen to get his own spin-off. The film will continue the adventures of his character, Caine.
Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski, star and director of the popular John Wick series, may be taking a well-earned break from the franchise, but that isn’t stopping Lionsgate from finding ways to keep the good ship Wick on its journey to box office dollars.
There’s the TV prequel spin-off, The Continental, which has already released, not to mention Ballerina, the recently-delayed spin-off movie that will feature Ana de Armas as an assassin who looks to have graduated from the same killing school that taught John Wick himself.
Gird yourself for more stories from the John Wick universe, though, as it’s been announced by Lionsgate (thanks Dark Horizons) that Donnie Yen’s Caine character will also be getting a spin-off film. It will...

Once upon a time, I believed any completed movie that found release was a minor miracle. After enduring Harmony Korine’s infrared-only Aggro Dr1ft (written in “leetspeak”), the first production under the filmmaker’s new boundary-pushing “multimedia design collective” Edglrd, that mantra is shattered. This movie is theatrical imprisonment. Its duration? A life sentence. Aggro Dr1ft is an 80-minute music video masquerading as a provocative and startlingly stylized action flick that’s devoid of any provocation, groundbreaking style, or on-screen action.
Aggro Dr1ft follows a downtrodden Miami-based mercenary, Bo (Jordi Mollà), who wishes to vanquish a demonic crimelord and become a stay-at-home family man. It’s a crayon-box blur of fuchsia skies and lavender skin tones, paintball-masked mini militias mean-mugging on yachts with hot tubs, mumbled dialogue lost underneath Edm tracks, and robotic performances so unintelligible you’d think you’re being pranked. Travis Scott randomly appears as a next-generation assassin,...

Hold onto your butts because the billion-dollar John Wick franchise is expanding with another feature film focusing on Donnie Yen’s Caine from John Wick: Chapter 4. Yen is reprising his role from the action-packed sequel, with production kicking off in Hong Kong next year. Plot details remain a mystery. However, Lionsgate says Caine will continue the character’s story following the events of John Wick: Chapter 4, as Caine has been freed from his obligations to the High Table.
Robert Askins, a Tony nominee for his play Hand to God and a veteran of The Umbrella Academy and AMC’s The Son, will pen the screenplay.
The Caine spin-off comes to Lionsgate as part of Chad Stahelski’s deal with the studio to oversee and expand the John Wick universe beyond the core films, the upcoming spin-off, Ballerina, starring Ana De Armas, and The Continental TV miniseries.

Keanu Reeves (John Wick) is now confirmed for Ruben Östlund’s anticipated upcoming film The Entertainment System Is Down and we can reveal that he’ll be joined in the cast by Kirsten Dunst (Civil War) and Daniel Brühl (Rush).
We can also reveal some intriguing plot and production points about the social satire.
We are told that two-time Palme d’Or winner Östlund has bought a retired Boeing 747 for the project, with the plane set to be used full scale for the shoot in a studio.
Set on a long-haul flight where the entertainment system fails, the film will see passengers forced to face the horror of being bored. We hear that a bunch more well known cast will be joining the project, which is scheduled to shoot in early 2025.
In preparing the movie, the Swedish filmmaker was inspired by a social psychological study at Virginia University called ‘The Challenge Of The Disengaged Mind.

From co-directing the pulse-pounding John Wick and seamlessly transitioning to headlining major projects like Deadpool 2, David Leitch’s trajectory in the film is nothing short of remarkable. Playing Brad Pitt’s stunt double in a number of movies, including Fight Club, Leitch began his career in Hollywood as a stunt and fight coordinator.
Needless to say, his enlightening journey with his producer wife, Kelly McCormick, is just as enchanting as the films they make. Not so recently, when the dynamic duo spilled the beans about the casting experience of Deadpool 2, including the role that Brad Pitt almost graced, we got a rare glimpse into the ‘what-ifs’.

In a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Leitch and McCormick admitted the fact that Pitt nearly played the role of Cable in Deadpool 2.

I love it when Nicolas Cage goes for the gusto. My family constantly quoted his "Moonstruck" meltdown when I was growing up ("I lost my hand! I lost my bride!") and I'll take any excuse I can get to yell "Not the bees!" or "I'm a vampire!" in my everyday life. But I will also take Cage doing the kind of restrained, internal, and otherwise non-flashy acting that tends to get ignored by the Oscars over a movie that calls on him to dial things up to 11 in a calculated bid at future viral success every day of the week.
Michael Sarnoski's "Pig" -- which the Academy tellingly snubbed -- is one such film. The low-budget 2021 drama casts Cage as Robin "Rob" Feld, a formerly distinguished chef who's forced to abandon his solitary existence foraging for truffles in the woods when his beloved truffle-sniffing pig is kidnapped. The unprecedented era of science fiction and high-octane action that defined the turn of the 20th century with the Wachowski siblingsʼ film franchise The Matrix set in motion a predestined narrative for the leading star Keanu Reeves. What the Wachowskis did for Reevesʼ career in 1999 slowly led to his intro into kung-fu in the John Wick franchise which in turn helped the Wachowskisʼ return in the fourth Matrix sequel, bringing the director and actorʼs Hollywood stories full circle.

“Valar Morghulis”, “Say my name”, and “Zed’s dead baby”, all these dialogues make you think of the particular film or series that they are from. In this case, it was Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and, Pulp Fiction respectively. The point is, that dialogues are memorable. Be it a one-liner or even some random nonsense (like Samuel L. Jackson’s “This is some serious gourmet sh*t” from Pulp Fiction), dialogues are important.
A great example of a powerful dialogue from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice “Tell me, do you bleed?”
On the contrary, directors like Denis Villeneuve and George Miller seem to state that dialogues only seem to slow the pacing of a movie. Well, they are right but not in a context that people understand. With great dialogues, the films are often slow and they take time to build these lines with character development. Movies like...

Dev Patel’s seething directorial debut joins a thriving genre, from the bloody violence of Tarantino and John Wick to the comic rage of The First Wives Club
In real life, most of us don’t get that many opportunities to exact revenge on someone. A passive-aggressive comeback maybe, but that’s not quite the same. In the movies, however, as in Greek mythology, vengeance is one of the driving forces of storytelling: revenge films, both aggressively bloody and more benign, provide cathartic wish-fulfilment for our own petty grievances and unsettled scores. In Dev Patel’s seething directorial debut Monkey Man, the quest is familiar – as his streetwise hero seeks retribution for his mother’s murder – but the sheer gusto of his vengeance is invigorating, down to driving a dagger into a villain’s throat with his teeth.

Jan de Bont’s action thriller Speed is considered to be one of the best in the genre. Moreover, the chemistry between Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves was the equivalent of a cherry on top. The romance is a slow burn as the characters keep the audience waiting for something to happen between the two but it isn’t until the very end that Annie and Jack share a passionate kiss.
Jan de Bont’s Speed (1994).
However, this didn’t mean that there wasn’t a spark between the two as they held on to their dear lives in the speeding bus. They do share a few moments of eye contact here and there and as per Sandra Bullock, this really helped the two to build a connection before their big kiss; something which she hilariously dubbed as “foreplay.”

John Wick has infiltrated the world of video games and television, and now it’s time to conquer the pinball world. Lionsgate has teamed with Stern Pinball (the same folks behind the Jaws pinball machine) to release a new series of pinball machines inspired by the series of films.
Available now at retailers in Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models, players will step into the role of the world’s greatest assassin as he fights to escape his past. As the titular character, players can engage in high-speed car chases and fast-action drifting across the playfield, which incorporates models and artwork inspired by iconic locations from the franchise, including the New York Continental Hotel and the Red Circle Club.
Players can also open John Wick’s weapons crate to reveal a hidden shot target path to retrieve an array of weapons. You must use the sculpted Blood Oath Marker carefully – or risk the consequences.

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock might be down for Speed 3.
The Speed stars stopped by the 50 Mph podcast to discuss the 1994 action-thriller, alongside their fellow co-stars Jeff Daniels and Alan Ruck.
When asked about a possible threequel, the Matrix star said, “I mean, you know — we’d freakin’ knock it out of the park.” Bullock chimed in, saying that she may be up for it, “Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera. Are we, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Maybe. Are we on little scooters at Disneyland?”
Reeves echoed her sentiment, adding that it can’t be forced, despite their seeming interest. “It does feel like there is a siren call to it, like there’s something that wasn’t done,” he said. “I would love to work with you again before our eyes close.

Kagurabachi, which started serializing in Weekly Shonen Jump in the latter half of 2023, has gained quite the popularity among fans due to its action packed storyline and the revenge filled theme at its center.
In an interview put out on Manga Plus, the manga’s editor Takuro Imamura revealed the inspirations that led author Takeru Hokazono to craft such a story.
Talking about the revenge aspect, Imamura said that Hokazono always aspired to “make a revenge story” and get serialized in Jump. The one shots that he had drawn before also had similar themes.
Simply put, the revenge genre was Hokazono’s favorite, thanks to his love for Western movies, especially those directed by Quentin Tarantino.

This post contains spoilers for "John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum."
Slick, visceral kineticism and mind-blowingly impressive gun-fu are integral to every fight John Wick (Keanu Reeves) gets involved with. Throughout the four "John Wick" films, dynamism has been the name of the game in terms of one-upping fight scenes, where everything from cars, pencils, explosives, and even stairs have been incorporated to keep the adrenaline flowing. In "John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum," John is the definition of a marked man, hounded by every assassin across the globe after breaking the rules, and he stumbles into a weapons shop with cramped rooms. After a few assassins corner him inside, there is but one option left: improvise and adapt with the countless antique knives displayed on glass panels to overcome a monumentally messed-up situation.

It's no secret that the South Korean TV industry is conquering the world step by step. But there's no wonder why K-dramas are so popular. Showrunners have put a lot of thought and effort into creating a series of different genres that can be enjoyed by different audiences.
However, not only shows are getting more and more attention, but also full-length movies. Especially after the huge success of the movie Parasite. The 99%-rated movie even won the Oscar for Best Picture.
So here are some more movies you should definitely check out if you liked Bong Joon-ho's masterpiece.

Gone are the days of Ryan Gosling beating goons to a pulp in elevators in films like “Drive” or drinking a marriage into dissolution in “Blue Valentine”. At least for right now. In a recent Wall Street Journal Magazine interview, Gosling admitted that the softer, more fun roles he’s taken on lately are largely a result of looking out for his wife, Eva Mendes, and their children. To understand the love letter that is “The Fall Guy” — a passion project of former stunt performer turned A-list action director David Leitch — consider that Drew Pearce couldn’t write the script until Leitch identified the old-school stunts that would serve as its centerpieces.
IndieWire talked to Leitch and stunt designer Chris O’Hara about four of those jaw-dropping action scenes: the record-breaking cannon roll on the beach, the 225-foot car jump, the helicopter high-fall, and the boat jump. The personal and creative stories of how they came about are almost as gripping as the scenes themselves.
The Cannon Roll
After his accident, stunt double Colt Seavers’ (Ryan Gosling) first stunt is a big one: an explosion that sends his Jeep into a cannon roll. It was so big that Gosling’s own stunt double, Logan Holladay (who is seen on screen buckling Gosling into the Jeep), broke the Guinness World Record with eight-and-half rolls.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is not what it used to be. Although the statements might be hurtful, there have never been so many delays in a Marvel film before as Mahershala Ali’s upcoming MCU film Blade.
It’s not just about the infinite delays though, it feels as if the MCU has dropped its standards after the events of Avengers: Endgame. With people getting hurt by these Marvel updates, fans are not liking the news of Mahershala Ali’s delayed film!

Although it could be taken in a good sense that the MCU doesn’t want to release an unfinished product, the fans are also tired now. With the world having learned not to rush things for a release (*cough* Cyberpunk 2077), the MCU probably wants their films to be actually entertaining for the audience.

David Leitch has had ups and downs since co-directing John Wick a decade ago. While he's always been an incredibly talented action filmmaker, courtesy of his background as a stunt performer and coordinator, his apparent passion for mixing action and comedy hasn't always served him well. Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train both shortchange the action for comedy that's often just as likely to cause groans as laughter, but with The Fall Guy, Leitch has found the perfect balance of humor, hits, and heart. Maybe that's because The Fall Guy is a movie about a stuntman, maybe not. Either way, there's a sense of joy and love for filmmaking broadly and the people who make movie magic possible in The Fall Guy that invites viewers to...

It’s almost hard to imagine anyone else doing Bill Cutting in place of the legendary Daniel Day-Lewis in Gangs of New York, or Tim Robbins’ Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption but Hollywood veteran Tom Hanks came pretty close to playing several iconic characters including Cutting and Dufresne. The actor was also in negotiation to play one of Keanu Reeves’ roles.
Tom Hanks and Tyler Hoechlin in Road to Perdition
Of course, it’s not John Wick, it would have been kind of weird seeing Hanks as John Wick, as for fans, Reeves was immersed in the character and he is now hard to replace. But Hanks almost booked the slot of the 1994 hit action thriller, Speed. But the role eventually went to the John Wick star.

Despite David Leitch’s background as a stunt actor and coordinator, not to mention the fact that his co-directorial debut, John Wick, set a bar for hard-hitting action, there’s been a certain weightlessness to every film he’s made since his sophomore film, Atomic Blonde. From Deadpool 2 to Bullet Train, they all glide along as briskly and smoothly as, well, a bullet train. They’re sleek, sure, but they’re also free of any heft or tactile quality.

And thanks to magnetic performances by Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt,...

Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling created box office history with their respective movies last year. Oppenheimer and Barbie not only clashed at the theatres, but both were successful. The Barbenheimer clash [Barbie & Oppenheimer] was one of the most talked about topics on social media last year, and now the actors have paired up for the movie The Fall Guy about stunt performers. Producer Kelly McCormick has recently given an insight into Ryan and Emily’s incredible chemistry on the film’s set.
Emily and Ryan are two of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood, and they rekindled their Barbenheimer banter on the 96th Academy Awards stage last month. Although Blunt did not take home the golden statuette, her team ruled the night with seven wins, including Best Picture. Meanwhile, Ryan’s Barbie won the box office war last year.

Breaking the long-standing curse of disappointing video game adaptations, Fallout and The Last of Us have now attained a gold-standard status amongst gamers being delivered faithful small-screen versions of games they pour hours into. This comes after years of inaccurate and shoddy live-actions that have left a stain on the industry, and for viewers and gamers alike.
A still from Fallout
While we’re still waiting for Resident Evil to give us our favorite Backstreet Boy-looking Leon Kennedy in a perfectly adapted series, and debating whether a triangular…chest is indeed peak Lara Croft, there are some games that deserve another go— Not as a game since they continually bombed, but as a TV show, since their stories can be done a lot more justice.
