I thought I was done buying The Texas Chain Saw Massacre after upgrading to the 40th anniversary edition Blu-ray in 2014. Between the crisp presentation and the copious extras, I was certain it was the definitive version of Tobe Hooper‘s 1974 masterpiece. Yet here I am, nearly a decade later, ready to sing the praises of Dark Sky Films‘ 4K Ultra HD edition.
Long before “gritty” was an industry buzzword, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre epitomized the term. As such, one might be wary that a 4K restoration could hinder the viewing experience, but that is not at all the case. Utilizing the 4K scan from the aforementioned Blu-ray, which was approved by Hooper, and now with a wider color gamut courtesy of Hdr, the picture is presented in staggering clarity while maintaining the 16mm film grain. The oppressive heat is virtually palpable.

After Lisa’s brother mysteriously dies, she and her college friends go to her family home for answers. They are shocked to discover that his killer was non-the than the Christmas demon, Krampus.
Not to be confused with the Robert Conway written and directed Krampus franchise, nor Scott Jeffrey’s Other production company, Proportion Productions, own Mother Krampus films, Krampus: The Return – as it’s called on Amazon Prime Video and not the IMDb-listed title The Return of Krampus (talk about arguing over semantics!) – is another of the now long-running, totally unconnected, series of direct to market horrors than were spawned by 2015’s big-budget Krampus movie. A movie that has a Lot to answer for!
Why? Well has there been a truly great Krampus movie since that one?...

"I am so not this girl, I never do this." Don't be turned off by the headline, this is a very impressive dramatic short film. Angel of Anywhere is an award-winning short directed by James Kicklighter that has been playing at festivals this year. The story is about an empathetic stripper who chats with his clients and helps them work through their problems. It goes to some very deep, personal places, with a very intelligent script. Angel of Anywhere stars Briana Evigan as Michelle, Ser'Darius Blain as Brian, David A. Gregory as D.C., plus Nihan Gur, Adam Carr, Krystal Conway, and Axel Roldos. It's always great to see a story that challenges us to rethink our initial judgments, and listen more to each other. Definitely worth a watch. Spoiler alert: The real-life Bowers brace us for the season’s final three episodes!
Vivian Bowers’ killer will finally be revealed on the March 18 season finale of Deception, but the show’s stars assure HollywoodLife.com that there are plenty of other surprises fans can anticipate in the coming weeks. Victor Garber, Katherine Lanasa and Ella Rae Peck recently met with the press to spill secrets about the upcoming episodes — and trust me, they didn’t give ‘em up easily.
Vivian’s Killer Will Be Revealed
Despite what many fans assume, the cast hasn’t known the identity of Vivian’s killer since day one. In fact, the stars were only recently clued in, and even they aren’t sure if they have the whole story.

Watch Sofia make her best attempt as ‘kindness’ in our first-look from the next episode of ‘Deception!’
There are many words I would use to describe Sofia Bowers (Katherine Lanasa): cold, manipulative and psychotic — to name just a few. But ”maternal” is certainly not one of those words, which is why this new clip from the Feb. 4 episode of NBC’s Deception, obtained exclusively by HollywoodLife.com, makes me super uncomfortable.
On the heels of Mia’s (Ella Rae Peck) debutante ball, Sofia pays a visit to her “daughter” to dispense some “motherly” advice — she tries to convince her to forget about Kyle (David A. Gregory), as she’s going to have “so many men” after her — as well as to pass down her grandmother’s pearl necklace.

Game's pockets are about to become significantly lighter. On Tuesday, a North Carolina appeals court judge ruled that the Documentary Mc pay $5 million in damages to five Greensboro police officers upholding a 2006 ruling, according to a report for local North Carolina affiliate My Fox 8.
The suit stems from an October 2005 incident, when Game was arrested at the Four Seasons Town Centre mall in North Carolina. Originally, Game was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct when he went into the mall to sign autographs wearing a mask. Mall security said that the rapper was wearing a full-face Halloween mask and cursing loudly. When Game was asked to leave, he refused and was arrested soon after.

The resurgence in anthology horror films has been fascinating -- and heartening -- to see, both in a professional sense (filmmakers working together; short subjects receiving more attention when combined into a feature-length project) and a creative one (different approaches to a linked theme or subject). Opening today in limited release, The Theater Bizarre -- theater information here -- features six short films, individually directed by Douglas Buck, Buddy Giovinazzo, David Gregory, Karim Hussain, Tom Savini and Richard Stanley. Our own Kurt Halfyard saw it last summer at Fantasia. In his review, he noted that the project ... "... has its genesis in Montreal's Fantasia, but its component parts were made by a diverse collection of filmmakers who traffick in gore and brains well outside...

Health problems have been plaguing the 2012 Sundance Film Festival from the death of indie film distributor Bingham Ray to the collapse of Tracy Morgan. Now a new horror film called "V/H/S" is making viewers pass out!
It happened during a screening of the film which is a found-footage-style horror film directed by David Bruckner, Glenn McQuaid, Radio Silence, Joe Swanberg, Ti West and Adam Wingard. A particularly gruesome scene was too much for the poor guy and he lost consciousness.
When the man came to, he left the theater, embarrassed and was later treated for nausea. He also came back to meet the directors. So, was it the shaky cam? Was it just too icky for him? No one knows. Strangely enough, on "Inside Horror," on thestream.tv, "The Theater Bizarre" director David Gregory just spoke about an even crazier, bloodier story of someone passing out during a screening.

Long gone is Newt Gingrich's promise to run a positive campaign, David Gregory noted during today's special early-morning Republican presidential debate, for the former frontrunner has now taken to going after Romney for ads that were run against him in Iowa that Gingrich believed were misleading and didn't have facts to back up its premises. Now Gingrich is turning the tables with a new 30-minute infomercial about Romney's ties to Bain Capitol, and continued to go after Romney during today's debate.

A new trailer has been released for an insanely crazy looking surreal film called The Theater Bizarre. This looks like the kind of horror film you have to have an acquired taste for. The most looks incredibly far out and depending on the type of person you are... it could be entertaining. I'm not sure what the hell is going on in this trailer other than a punch of random disturbing shots of madness. I will remind you that this is a red-band trailer and is Nsfw.
The film is an anthology of horror ffeaturing stories from David Gregory, Buddy Giovinazzo, Richard Stanley, Douglas Buck, Karim Hussain, Tom Savini and Jeremy Kasten.
But, there is a synopsis, and here it is...

Los Angeles — Natalie Wood's drowning death nearly 30 years ago came after a night of dinner, drinking and arguments but the question remains – was it anything more than a tragic accident?
Conflicting versions of what happened on the yacht shared by Wood, her actor-husband Robert Wagner and their friend, actor Christopher Walken, have contributed to the mystery of how the actress died on Thanksgiving weekend in 1981.
Two sheriff's detectives are now diving into the mysterious events on the yacht Splendour, although whether they reach any different conclusions than their predecessors remains to be seen. They recently received new, seemingly credible information and heard from potential witnesses who weren't included in the original investigation of Wood's death, sheriff's Lt. John Corina said Friday.

The plot thickens. Hours after the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced that it was reopening the case involving the 1981 drowning death of Natalie Wood, the captain of the yacht from which the screen legend died spoke out. While appearing on the Today show this morning, Dennis Davern admitted that he had not been entirely truthful 30 years ago. "I made mistakes by not telling the honest truth in a police report," Davern said during an interview with David Gregory on the NBC program Friday. During the discussion about the tragic 1981 incident, Davern said he believes that Wood's husband, Robert Wagner, was in fact to blame for her demise. As Davern recalled an...

Los Angeles — A Los Angeles County sheriff's detective says Robert Wagner is not a suspect in the 1981 death of his wife, actress Natalie Wood.
Lt. John Corina said that new information is substantial enough to take another look at the case. Wood's body was found floating off a Southern California island as the couple were on a boating excursion. The death was ruled an accidental drowning.
Corina was asked if Wagner is a suspect and the detective said no.
The police news conference comes as a captain of the boat said on national TV Friday that he lied to investigators about Wood's death and blamed Wagner for her drowning.
The circumstances of her death remain one of Hollywood's enduring mysteries and continue to create renewed intrigue, with homicide detectives on Thursday unexpectedly re-opening the case that had long been classified as a tragic accident.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced that it is re-opening the investigation into the 1981 death of actress Natalie Wood. While the coroner originally ruled the death an accident, new evidence has come to light that has them thinking otherwise -- and taking a good hard look at the actress' husband, actor Robert Wagner.
The circumstances surrounding the young actress' death have long been considered suspect. She disappeared from a yacht off of Catalina Island where she had been drinking -- and arguing -- with Wagner, her "Brainstorm" co-star Christopher Walken (yes, that Christopher Walken), the ship's captain, Dennis Davern, and others. Her body was discovered the next morning about a mile away from the yacht with the ship's dinghy beached nearby. At the time the coroner categorized her death as an accident, assuming she had slipped off the boat while trying to launch the dinghy.

Oscar-winning actress Natalie Wood died nearly 30 years ago, on Nov. 29, 1981 in the icy waters off of California's Catalina Island. She had, the story goes, been drinking on a boat with husband Robert Wagner, actor Christopher Walken and the boat's captain, Dennis Davern. At the time, her death was ruled an accident -- the result of too much drinking.
But on Thursday (Nov. 17), the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department re-opened the case, claiming to have new information from Dalvern -- who, not for the first time, is claiming that Wagner is in fact responsible for Wood's death. A sheriff's department press conference is scheduled for Friday.
Dalvern appeared on NBC's "Today" Friday and claimed he had made a mistake by not divulging the truth 30 years ago. Dalvern claims that a fight between Wagner and Wood -- possibly over a possible affair between her and Walken -- led to the actress' death.

What happened to Natalie Wood? That is the question the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office hopes to answer regarding the Nov. 29, 1981, death of the adored movie star, it was announced late Thursday. On Friday morning's Today show, the captain of the boat Wood fled the night of her drowning alleged that her husband, Robert Wagner, was responsible for her death. "I made mistakes by not telling the honest truth in a police report," Dennis Davern also said on the NBC program. Saying they had new information about Wood's death - some of it apparently form Davern - sheriff's officials have decided to reopen the investigation,...

Maricopa Country Sheriff Joe Arpaio appeared on CNN's American Morning, and spoke with Christine Roman about immigration and his planned meeting today with Gop frontrunner Herman Cain. Roman noted that Cain had told David Gregory that his suggestion that the Us should electrify the border fence was a joke. “Oh, I’m sure he was joking," Arpaio said. "But it probably means that he’s taking it serious to do something at the border and stop the illegal immigrations.”...

Today, as I write this, is September 11, 2011.
Ten years.
The World Trade Center. The Pentagon. Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
I’m watching the memorial services.
Tom Brokaw, David Gregory on NBC and MSNBC. Anderson Cooper and Candy Crowley on CNN. President Obama with Michelle and President George W. Bush with Laura. Mayor Bloomberg. Rudy Giuliani. Vice President Biden.
Breaking news: a truck bomb has killed at least 50 American soldiers in Afghanistan.
The ticker on CNN now reads: Global Terror Evolves. Al Qaeda under attack but keeps changing as Peter Bergen says: “Ten years out, terrorism remains, but is very different.”
Yesterday I read the “debut” issue of Action Comics #1. The one with Superman in a t-shirt, jeans, and Timberland boots.
It’s a different look for him.
He’s different.
The story opens as Superman breaks into a corporate (corporate = evil) meeting and manhandles the CEO (CEO = malevolence). The police (hired mercenaries?...

NBC heavy hitters Tom Brokaw and David Gregory stopped by Morning Joe to share some of their thoughts on the deficit negotiations and Brokaw warned that the "fun" is far from over. Brokaw also admitted how impressed he was with the Tea Party's effect on Washington and concluded "if you want to change Washington, you've got to look at the Tea Party model."...

Last night, Anderson Cooper again boldly defended the indefensible, putting "all those who dare to disparage Octomom Nadia Suleman" on his RidicuList (and for those of you who write for Washington-based blogs, before you write an outraged post about Coop, be advised: Cooper is being what we call sarcastic). At any rate, reflecting on Suleman's recent visit to NBC's Today, where her brood of 14 kids, including eight two year olds, wreaked havoc on the set, sending both Ann Curry and David Gregory into baby wrangling duty, Cooper suggests all you "haters" knock it down a notch.

Chris Meloni is going to be playing a general in the new Superman movie, not Lex Luthor as many have speculated. But in some incarnations, wasn't Zod a General? "Kneel before Zod!" Is this Superman or Oz?
The Alaska Pride parade was canceled after a fatal crash left a pedestrian dead minutes before it was to step out.
Meanwhile, in Chicago 30 Pride floats were found with slashed tires the morning of the parade. Organizers say that it's hard to imagine that it's not a hate crime, and were scrambling to find open tire shops to fix the floats.
Shortly after the lackluster opening for Green Lantern, R.I.P.D. with Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges got a release date for June 2013. Now we just have to hope Reynolds finds time for Deadpool.

On episode 2.58 of We Love Soaps TV from the Love Out Loud VI fundraiser at Prohibition in New York City, Billy Warlock discusses his role in "The Normal Heart," the possibility of writing an autobiography someday, and shares his honest opinions on what daytime soaps could have done to save themselves.
We Love Soaps TV: What do you think needs to happen for the last four shows to remain viable and stay on the air? What, if anything, can they do from your perspective?
Billy Warlock: Nothing. And it's not their fault. Honestly, it could have been saved 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 years ago. It's all about money baby. Listen, it's simple. When you see shows getting rid of their mainstays to bring in $1,000 a day actors, that's your first sign of trouble. Tell stories with your core people. Get rid of everybody else. You want the four shows to remain? Get rid...
