Sasquatch Sunset directors Nathan and David Zellner always wondered what these hairy giants do when they’re not walking – the only Bigfoot footage available has been a minute of a supposed Sasquatch wandering in the northern California woods. They decided to flesh that out in unique dialogue-free comedic imagining of the creatures’ daily life – eating, fighting, etc. Stars Jesse Eisenberg, Riley Keough, Christophe Zajac-Denek and Nathan Zellner are unrecognizable as the hairy tribe of four that entranced Sundance (see Deadline review). Bleecker Street is opening the film, written by David Zellner, executive produced by Ari Aster, in 9 theaters in New York, LA, San Francisco and Austin, ahead of a big jump to about 800 screens next week.

Chronicling BTS’ impressive journey is a tall task, given everything the seven-member group — which consists of members Rm, Jin, Suga, J-hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — has accomplished since debuting in 2013 (and still has yet to do). But Disney+’s eight-part docuseries, BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star, does an effective job of turning 10 years’ worth of career-defining achievements, history-making “firsts” and the hardships endured along the way into digestible snapshots of a once-in-a-generation talent for fans, commonly referred to as A.R.M.Y. (acronym for “Adorable Representative Mc for Youth”), to reminisce over and the uninitiated to discover amid the group’s temporary hiatus while the members serve out their mandatory military service.

What better gift for the holiday season than a new release from Jimin of BTS? Despite all seven members now enlisted in the South Korean military, Army isn’t lacking new music and content to enjoy: on the heels of the premiere of a new docuseries on Disney+, Jimin has shared a solo song titled “Closer Than This.” Stream it below.
More in the vein of sweet tracks like “Friends” or “Promise” than the high stakes drama of his 2023 solo album, “Closer Than This” is a love letter to the fans and promise of a reunion. “Letting go of your hand for a moment/ But it’s only a small comma in our story/ Just call my name out loud until the days tinge purple once again,” he sings in Korean. His distinct vocal range is on full display here over light, playful guitar and an earworm of a hook.
