The mastermind behind the iconic MCU show X-Men ’97, Beau DeMayo recently shared his top 10 plot ideas for the series. Following the conclusion of season 1, as the show awaits its next installment, DeMayo posted an image via his X account that took a hilarious dig at the X-Men comics and its treatment towards one particular mutant.

While his list teased plots for Charles Xavier, Wolverine, and even Storm, Beau DeMayo’s ideas were majorly focused on Scott Summers aka Cyclops. DeMayo’s list almost came as a sarcastic blow, that hinted at how X-Men comics turned Cyclops’ devastating fate into a compelling storyline, while never actually focusing on the character’s development.

Fox’s X-Men movies have been integral to bringing the mutants to live-action, laying the groundwork for the live-action debut of several other Marvel characters. While the movies showed that tales of mutants are well-liked by the audience, they are at the same time among the most criticized Marvel movies. From their inconsistent quality to lack of character representation, there are several things fans found an issue with.

While Marvel Studios quietly rethinks its approach to blockbuster entertainment by limiting the content released yearly in theaters and on Disney+, industry insider Daniel Richtman could have a promising update about the next Avengers movie. According to Richtman, who has a decent track record for leaking information about upcoming film projects throughout the industry, principal photography for Avengers 5 begins in the United Kingdom next January. Initially, reports said cameras could roll as early as December, but that appears to have changed.
Richtman says the story for Avengers 5 is “more grounded” than previous chapters of the multi-million dollar-printing franchise. However, Marvel plans to “go big or go home” regarding the Multiverse so that fans can expect plenty of portal-hopping shenanigans as the MCU gets remixed from one adventure to the next. Recently, an unexpected cameo has been confirmed, adding to the excitement among fans.
In the latest episode of ‘Welcome to Wrexham,’ which premiered on May 23, viewers saw Rob McElhenney visit Ryan Reynolds on the set of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ in London. Although much of the set footage was blurred, fans received an exciting update about the documentary.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now in full promotional mode for the highly anticipated Marvel movie. Recently, a fan-recorded PSA of the movie went viral after hitting online. Although the clip was exclusive to CinemaCon attendees of the R-rated flick, the unofficial online release of it has certainly added a hilarious layer to both the characters’ traits.

Deadpool & Wolverine is this year’s biggest preparation from Marvel Studios as the superhero brand has only the movie slated for theatrical release and they will leave no stone unturned for the growth of seamless box office numbers. The ticket sales of the movie have already been live in select countries but when you get into the theatrical threat, you should be aware of Wolverine’s warning before committing this mistake in the theater.

During this year's CinemaCon, attendees were treated to a special Deadpool & Wolverine PSA. That featured both characters going on a foul-mouthed tirade aimed at moviegoers who don't silence their cellphones. Now, it's found its way online!
The video has started playing in theaters and hasn't been "officially" released (at least not yet). However, we have a version recorded by a fan and this thing is absolutely hilarious.
A very angry Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) makes a series of threats before being calmed down by the Merc with the Mouth (Ryan Reynolds). Things between them get weird fast, but it's clear the clawed mutant doesn't appreciate seeing someone's phone light up or start ringing during a trip to the movies.
This Variant of Logan also appears to have a short temper, something we're sure contributes to his hatred of the chatty Wade Wilson.

The story of Ryan Reynolds borderline stalking and nagging Hugh Jackman into making a movie together years after the latter had left Marvel is widely known. Now, we have Deadpool & Wolverine coming right up to close the Merc with a Mouth’s iconic trilogy — but apparently, Kevin Feige almost ruined this movie in advance.
The Big Marvel Boss was insisting on Jackman not reprising his role, but why?
Jackman Actually Wanted to Work with Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s favorite story of the former spending ages to make the latter co-star with him in Deadpool & Wolverine has gone viral time and time again, but it’s not exactly accurate. While sure, it took quite some convincing from Reynolds to get Jackman on board, the Wolverine star had wanted to make a movie with him for years. At one point, he just broke under his co-star’s pressure.

It’s been 10 years since X-Men: Days of Future Past hit theatres, ushering in an endgame to a universe that would not be replicated until Avengers: Infinity War, four years later. It closed the book in the older generation of X-Men that had carried the franchise until their younger variants had been introduced in X-Men: First Class.

Deadpool & Wolverine Stars Tease Cassandra Nova's "Unpredictability" And Reveal Surprise Inspiration
While we've seen a lot from Deadpool & Wolverine in recent weeks, much of the threequel is shrouded in secrecy. The latest trailer offered a glimpse at the movie's villain, Cassandra Nova, though we still don't know what she's up to in The Void.
The prevailing theory is that the twisted twin sister of Professor X hails from the same reality as Deadpool & Wolverine's Logan. If she killed the X-Men before being pruned, it would go a long way in establishing Nova as a threat to the heroes and perhaps even the wider Multiverse.
In a profile of Emma Corrin on Harper's Bazaar, the actor (who uses they/them pronouns), refuses to say too much about playing the villain but confirmed Christoph Waltz's Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds was a key source of inspiration.

The X-Men are due to make thier appearance in the MCU, and there are a lot of theories as to how they will be integrated into the history of the franchise. Some have suggested that mutants will enter the MCU from a different universe, one that will be assimilated into the sacred timeline. However, another theory has emerged, suggesting that the X-Men have already been part of the MCU.
The X-Men | Marvel Comics
There have been multiple theories about how the X-Men exist in the MCU. Some have suggested that Charles Xavier is responsible for hiding mutants in the MCU, while others say that the mutants will slowly emerge now that The Blip has been undone. There is one theory that suggests that not only have mutants always existed in the MCU, but some sort of cataclysmic event wiped them out from the memories of the general public.

Avengers 5 Gets A Rumored Production Update; Story Said To Be "Grounded" Despite Multiverse Elements
Marvel Studios' next big MCU event will be Avengers 5 (FKA Avengers: The Kang Dynasty), and we may now have a pretty good idea of when production is scheduled to get underway.
A previous report claimed that filming was set to begin this December, but according to insider Daniel Richtman, cameras won't actually start rolling until January 2025 in the UK.
Despite Jonathan Majors' recent firing, Kang is still expected to appear, although we can't see the character playing nearly as big a role in the story. As we know, Loki writer Michael Waldron was hired to pen a new draft of the script, but reports indicate that the events of Loki season 2 are still going to inform the main plotline, which means Kang would likely remain on as a supporting character (at the very least).

Even though the movie isn't hitting theaters for another two months, "Deadpool & Wolverine" is already breaking box office records. According to AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron, the latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has set a new record for ticket sales in a single day for an R-rated movie for the theater chain. Given that AMC is the largest theater chain in the world, that's no small thing. It's a big enough thing to provide some hope after a slow start to the summer with the box office feeling like it's on life support. Marvel to the rescue, it seems.

Fans are understandably thrilled to see the Merc with the Mouth and Logan share the screen, though there were initial concerns about bringing Hugh Jackman back into the fold after what proved to be a perfect send-off in 2017.
Logan killed the clawed mutant in a way he can't come back from. Undoing that would be nothing short of sacrilegious, but the latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine confirmed this is a Variant of the X-Man who somehow failed his world.
Now, the first meeting between Wade Wilson and Logan is spotlighted in a new still from the upcoming threequel.

When Hugh Jackman signed on to a third Deadpool movie as the Wolverine, it was so spontaneous that he forgot to tell his agent first.
The actor recently sat down with Fandango, alongside his co-star Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, to talk about his decision to reprise the superhero role after being killed off in 2017’s Logan.
“I was on my way, I was just driving, and literally, just like a bolt of lightning, came this knowing deep in my gut that I wanted to do this film with Ryan,” Jackman explained. “For Deadpool and Wolverine to come back together. I swear to you, When I said I was done, I really thought I was done. But in the back of my head, ever since I saw Deadpool 1, I was like, ‘Those two characters together.’ I knew it, I knew the fans wanted it ever since I put on the claws,...

Earlier today, we brought you news about Deadpool & Wolverine's record-breaking first day of ticket sales. The Hollywood Reporter has since crunched the numbers, revealing that those stats likely translate into roughly $8 million - $9 million in presales.
Deadline has provided further context, revealing that the movie has topped the 24-hour advance ticket sales for The Batman ($6.5 million) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 ($6 million).
Those eventually went on to make $134 million and $118.4 million during their respective 3-day opening weekends.
You likely won't be surprised to learn that Deadpool & Wolverine is now eyeing a debut of well over $100 million in North America; only time will tell whether it manages to beat Deadpool ($132.4 million) and Deadpool 2 ($125 million), particularly in this post-pandemic landscape.

We’re still two months out from the premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, but the film is already shaping up to be a huge success. Tickets for the film went on sale earlier this week, and AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron took to X/Twitter to declare that Deadpool & Wolverine has sold more first-day tickets than any other R-rated movie in their history.
“Many big movies will open in May, June & July. Including Deadpool & Wolverine starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman,” Aron said. “Opens July 25. Some 200,000 movie fans have bought their AMC tickets already. This is more Day 1 ticket sales at AMC than for any other R-rated movie ever.“
THR crunched the numbers, which reportedly works out to somewhere around $8 million to $9 million in first-day sales. Keep in mind that’s just for AMC. Fandango also reported that Deadpool & Wolverine broke their first-day ticket sales record for the...

The first trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine smashed global records back in February by scoring 365 million views in 24 hours, and the Merc With a Mouth's MCU debut has now broken another pre-release record.
Tickets went on sale earlier this week with a new teaser (check it out below), and the CEO of AMC Theaters, Adam Aron, has now announced that the superhero team-up movie sold more tickets on day one than any other R-rated movie in the company's history.
This is just one theater chain, of course, but AMC is the biggest in the world, with the largest share of the U.S. theater market ahead of Regal and Cinemark.
The prospect of seeing Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson joining forces with Hugh Jackman's Logan is clearly a huge draw, and while it obviously remains to be seen how the movie ultimately performs at the box office, this is a very good sign.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe lost its biggest hero when Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man fell in Avengers: Endgame, but not after saving the day/Earth 616. Ever since then, the MCU has struggled to create the kind of projects that made it such a global success in the first place.
While most fans have asked for Kevin Feige and company to focus on originality and come up with new narratives that delve into the wealth of characters the Comics have on offer, some have also pressed for a Robert Downey Jr. return. Whether that is a potential option especially considering the actor’s own wishes, Feige had previously claimed they would ‘never want to mafically undo’ Stark’s heroic death.

At long last, it seems the MCU is getting closer to its mutation. We’re only two months away from Deadpool & Wolverine, which in its own way will bring something of an evolutionary leap to Marvel’s cinematic DNA. The world is still raving about the stellar first season of animated show X-Men ’97. And now, there are signs that we’re getting closer to the thing fans have been really waiting for: a proper MCU X-Men movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a writer has been hired to write such a thing – and the person tasked with that almighty responsibility is Michael Lesslie.
Given the amount of secrecy around Marvel’s X-Men plans, it’s unknown what brief Lesslie has been given – but he’s currently putting pen to paper on bringing Xavier’s team to the big screen. Lesslie previously served as lead writer on Park Chan-wook...

X-Men '97 was a big hit with critics right from the start, but the Disney+ revival series has now become the highest-rated Marvel Studios project - live-action or animated, big or small screen - in the 16-year history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With more reviews now counted for last Wednesday's season finale, X-Men '97 has reached a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. This takes it past Marvel's previous top-rated Disney+ show, Ms. Marvel (98%), and movie, Black Panther (96%), to become the most positively-reviewed MCU project of all time on the popular aggregator site.
The series wasn't only a critical favourite, as Deadline reports that May 15th's cameo-filled finale, "Tolerance is Extinction, Part 3," amassed a whopping 3.5 million views globally in its first five days on the streaming platform, making it the most-viewed full-length animated series finale since Season 1 of What If…?.

In the X-Men '97 season 1 finale, the team was thrown backwards (and forwards) in time. In 3000 B.C., we watched as Professor X, Magneto, Beast, Rogue and Nightcrawler encountered a young En Sabah Nur, a.k.a. Apocalypse.
Meanwhile, in 3060 A.D., Cyclops and Jean Grey crossed paths with a younger version of their son, Cable. As for Wolverine, Morph, Jubilee, and Storm, they're currently unaccounted for (though it's been confirmed they're not in the present and are scattered across one or both timelines).

We might finally be getting a new X-Men film as Michael Lesslie has been tapped to write a new film for Marvel.
It looks like the X-Men have come to stay in the MCU. After the disappointing Dark Phoenix, the X-Men have been laying low until we got quick teases in Ms. Marvel and The Marvels before Deadpool & Wolverine re-introduces everyone’s favourite grumpy mutant proper.
Deadline now reports that Marvel is planning a proper X-Men movie and Michael Lesslie is in negotiations to pen the script. Lesslie wrote last year’s Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes, proving he can adapt someone else’s material. Lesslie has also penned the script for the new Now You See Me sequel which will be filming later this year.
The film is officially in development, but it’s still early days and there is no news...

Boasting a leading duo of Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer, The Death Of Robin Hood is selling well at the Cannes Film Festival.
Here’s a rather exciting project to emerge from this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Lyrical Media has brought a fully-financed Robin Hood project to the festival, and it’s quite the package.
As well as featuring a story that focuses around the later chapters of one of Hollywood’s most enduring characters, it sports a pretty impressive leading pair. Hugh Jackman will play the ageing outlaw as a ‘battle-worn loner’, a far cry from the charming leader of the Merry Men that most versions of the legend love to portray.
Jodie Comer is also set to appear in an unknown role.
Whether this tale plans to further deconstruct the Robin Hood mythos by avoiding the Maid Marian character remains to be seen, but with Comer onboard...

It looks like her popularity is going to reach new levels as she is set to join the MCU and it’s not going to be a mere cameo as Dazzler in the upcoming Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer Deadpool & Wolverine.

X-Men ‘97 has left fans more excited than ever before to see a live-action take on the mutant team. Movies like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels have offered a glimpse of what the heroes could look like in the MCU, with Deadpool & Wolverine set to do the same later this summer.
The difference there, though, is that those are the 20th Century Fox Variants of the X-Men; what Marvel Studios does with its long-awaited reboot will surely be completely different. And, if X-Men ‘97 is any indication, we’re in store for something truly special (the series has been praised for its compelling take on the heroes and the way their powers have been portrayed in new and visually distinct ways).
Now, with the San Diego Comic-Con and D23 fast approaching, Deadline has confirmed that The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes writer...

Marvel Studios’ X-Men movie is gaining momentum as the project lands a writer.
Michael Lesslie, who is known for his work on the series The Little Drummer Girl and the recent prequel feature The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, is in talks to pen the new film focused on Marvel Comics’ iconic mutant team, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The feature does not currently have a release date or a director attached.
X-Men remains a popular property for Disney following the recent success of well-reviewed Disney+ animated series X-Men ’97. The show is a reboot of the fondly remembered X-Men: The Animated Series, which launched in 1992.
The team made its comics debut in 1963 from creators Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Its first feature film arrived in 2000 with 20th Century Fox’s X-Men from director Bryan Singer. Two sequels followed, with the team getting rebooted for 2011 prequel...

Since the moment it was revealed that Disney was considering acquiring 20th Century Fox, Marvel fans have been imagining the X-Men joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We’re still a number of years away from Marvel’s first X-Men movie, but the project has taken a big step forward. Deadline reports that Michael Lesslie (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) is now in negotiations to serve as the writer of the X-Men movie.
When the WGA strike concluded last year, X-Men was the first project Marvel Studios began tackling, taking pitches for the movie from a variety of writers. In addition to The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Michael Lesslie is also known for Macbeth, Assassin’s Creed, The Little Drummer Girl, and the upcoming Now You See Me 3.

Last year, comic book legend Greg Capullo (Batman) made his long-awaited return to Marvel Comics, and now, after a host of incredible cover art, he's back to gracing the Marvel Universe with his iconic interior artwork.
Capullo will team up with visionary writer Jonathan Hickman (Ultimate Spider-Man) this August in an all-new prestige limited series, Wolverine: Revenge.
The comic will be five issues of pure, unadulterated Wolverine action just in time for the iconic character's 50th anniversary (and the release of Deadpool & Wolverine). If that's not enough, Wolverine: Revenge will also be available as special "Red Band Editions." Like the current Blood Hunt event series, Wolverine: Revenge - Red Band Edition will be polybagged for the protection of innocent eyes/
Inside, it will include exclusive pages and elevated violence!

Exclusive: The finale of X-Men ’97 has set a promising track record for Disney+.
The episode, which debuted on May 15, saw 3.5M views globally in its first five days on the streaming platform. That makes it the most-viewed full-length animation series finale since Season 1 of What If…?, the Walt Disney Company says.
According to Disney, viewership had been growing consistently over the four episodes leading to the finale.
X-Men ’97 premiered in March with 4M views collectively across the first two episodes in their first five days on the platform.
The exact breakdown of viewership for each episode is unclear, but regardless it does indicate a strong, growing interest for the animated series, since the finale alone was nearly able to match the audience of the first two episodes in the same time frame.
As an added bonus, Disney also says that viewership for the original 1992 X-Men animated series has doubled since X-Men ’97 premiered.

There's been chatter for years about singer/songwriter Taylor Swift joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yesterday evening, one scooper went so far as to claim she's had a "good meeting" with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to discuss her joining the franchise.
Swift, who has become nothing short of a global phenomenon in recent years, is no stranger to acting and has even stepped behind the camera to direct. With that in mind - and the singer's immense popularity - it's no great shock that Marvel Studios is interested in working with her.
The question now is, who should she play? Many of the McU's biggest roles have already been cast and, given how successful Swift is as a writer and recording artist, we don't anticipate her signing any nine-picture movie deals!
In this feature, we explore some of the most exciting and realistic possibilities for Swift's MCU role. To check them out,...
