For many years Tarzan was a staple of cinema—in fact from its very onset. The first Tarzan feature, Tarzan of the Apes, came out in 1918 and was followed by close to 50 other adaptations in the last century. His star started to fade in the late 1960s and there were no Tarzan features in the 1970s save for one. The 1980s somewhat provided his last gasp on the big screen with movies like the Bo Derek vehicle Tarzan, the Ape Man (1981) and- more impressively- the well-received Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes. The 1990s saw only 1998’s Tarzan and the Lost City and the 1999 Disney animated version. In fact, for all many “youngsters” know Tarzan may as well have originated with the Disney cartoon. For the first time in many years, we finally have a new big-budget live-action iteration of one of the screen...

Warner Bros greenlit Lethal Weapon 4 late in the day - giving director Richard Donner just over six months to make the movie...
The closing chapter of the Lethal Weapon movie saga was a film that, tonally, was a long way away from the movie that started the series.
In the original Lethal Weapon back in 1987, the character of Martin Riggs - as played by Mel Gibson - was on the verge of suicide, working uneasily alongside Danny Glover's Roger Murtaugh. By the end of Lethal Weapon 4, as the song Why Can't We Be Friends played out, it was all happy families. With babies. Riggs had a wife and child, any hints of suicide were long gone, and the film feels a lot more like a comedy than an action thriller.
But then Lethal Weapon 4 was a film with very different expectations on it. The original Lethal Weapon was a surprise hit.

Warner Bros has renewed its efforts to bring back Tarzan by hiring Craig Brewer to write and direct a new adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' hero.
According to Deadline's report, Brewer has a vision that would tell Tarzan's story over three movies.
Brewer directed 2005's Hustle & Flow, starring Terrence Howard and Ludacris; Black Snake Moan (2006), starring Samuel L Jackson, Christina Ricci and Justin Timberlake; and is just finishing work on a remake of Footloose, due for release in the UK on October 14 and with Kenny Wormald in the lead role that made Kevin Bacon famous.
The new Tarzan film is said to be a passion project for Brewer, who chose it over other opportunities.
Signalling its determination to revive the character, the studio also has screenwriter Adam Cozad working on a separate script that tells a different story of the lord of the jungle.
