The Simpsons Season 32 Episode 11
The Simpsons goes back to the past to make way for the future on Season 32, episode 11. “The Dad Feelings-Limited” is an origin story, revealing the sad and lonely tale of Comic Book Guy. No, it isn’t done in panel layouts, and his super strength turns out to be his greatest weakness.
Comic Book Guy, diversely voiced by Hank Azaria, is a fairly one-dimensional character. He critiques everything he sees, and has no stomach for outside criticism. He’s already got a bellyful of tacos (breakfast burritos on a workday). He doles out droll insults to children too young to understand them.
Like many of the origin stories on The Simpsons, the first order of business is to explain the particular limits of the character. Professor Frink had the Nutty Professor for a dad. Comic Book Guy’s father was Postage Stamp Fellow,...

Marshall passed away during the evening of December 17 at her California home, the New York Daily News confirms. The director’s publicist, Michelle Bega, said she passed away peacefully and died “from complications from diabetes.”
Marshall rose to prominence in Hollywood during the 1970s thanks to her leading role as Laverne DeFazio on the ABC sitcom “Laverne & Shirley.” The series was the most-watched comedy on U.S. television during its third season and ran for a total of eight seasons and 178 episodes. Film fans love to harp on Hollywood for being too focused on all the remakes, reboots, and sequels. And yeah, let’s be real, it would be a lie to say that the industry isn’t focused on trying to recapture its success. But in a world where we carry every form of entertainment in our pockets, studios have to be competitive in order to compete financially. There is something, however, that is lost along the way. While we do get original ideas, it’s very infrequent that these ideas get sent to the big screen with the same weight behind it as your average superhero flick.
As sad as that can be, there is something pretty magical about us living in the age of nostalgia. We no longer have to grow out of the things we love, and so long as we keep loving it, and make our voices heard,...

Clip It: Each day, Jon Davis looks at the world of trailers, featurettes, and clips and puts it all in perspective. In 1969, the publishing industry was not kind to women. But that was all about to change (or begin to change) when women leveraged their talent for better working conditions. Good Girls Revolt is a period piece, and much like it's predecessor, Mad Men, it's about the changes that happened in the workplace during a tumultuous time in American history. I think it would be cool, later on in the series, if there were a crossover with Donald Draper - who we last left in 1970 with a triumphant Coke commercial. There's also crossover potential with the movie Heartburn, in which Meryl Streep places a woman based on Nora Ephron (Nora Ephron wrote the book and the screenplay). Since it's Meryl Streep's daughter who plays Nora Ephron in Good Girls Revolt,...

Clip It: Each day, Jon Davis looks at the world of trailers, featurettes, and clips and puts it all in perspective. What happens when you're accused of murdering Jim Belushi? You call Keanu Reeves. That's what you do. It's the first call I'd make, I know that. Last time time I saw Keanu play a lawyer was Devil's Advocate, in which Keanu sold his soul to the devil (Al Pacino) in order to make partner. Or something like that. This is more reality based and if it weren't for the cast, it would probably be a made for TV movie. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Somewhat related, there's been some pretty watchable John Grisham movies out there with awesome actors in them. Are you interested in this movie? We know that the kid couldn't have killed his abusive father. That wouldn't be satisfying. Did Renee Zellweger do it? The...

We’re not all the same. Unfortunately not all people love Seinfeld the way I do (personally I think anyone who doesn’t like the show Seinfeld is an idiot but that’s besides the point). And for some reason, there are people that think According to Jim might have been the best show of all time. If you’re one of these people please don’t ever reach out to me, ever. The point is, no matter what show you like there is always someone out there who hates it. And what if we could only expose these shows for what they really are?

Riley Smith is going from rhinestone cowboy to Urban Cowboy.
The actor, who played Keith on True Blood and has a recurring role as a country singer in Nashville‘s upcoming fourth season, has landed a series regular part in Fox’s pilot adaptation of the 1980 John Travolta movie.
Per our sister site Deadline, Smith’s bad boy character Wes is the head of security at the potential series’ central honkytonk, where he also happens to run drugs. He wants to be a rodeo star, so he entreats Kyle (played by Sense8‘s Alfonso Herrera) to show him the (literal) ropes.

In an attempt to further extend its age demographic, TV Land is launching a pair of new half-hour comedies this summer with a bit of a younger-skewing, modern edge to them. The first is called The Jim Gaffigan Show, which follows in the long line of the sitcom legacy by detailing the daily ins-and-outs of its titular real-life character and all the shenanigans he gets into by being, well, an overweight, middle-aged, white guy.
Some may easily take to comparing The Jim Gaffigan Show to FX’s Louie, in both content and appearance, but it’s far from apt. I’m no fan of the latter’s brand of uncomfortable, shifting-in-your-seat humor, but his wit and huge willingness to self-deprecate on such an epic scale infused that show with a unique energy. The Jim Gaffigan Show has none of that.

After a long stint on "The West Wing," Martin Sheen is returning to TV as the co-star in a new Netflix comedy opposite Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

Netflix just upped their game. With recent developments over at Amazon Studios – which saw the retail giant move into original programming and streaming in a big way – it would have been understandable if Netflix had begun to sweat, just a little. But instead of giving a cursory glance over their shoulder to see their competition snapping at their heels, they are moving full-steam ahead, partnering on shows with studios like Marvel, and commissioning impressive original projects, like Grace and Frankie – a new comedy series starring Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.
There is some formidable talent behind this one. Firstly, it is created by the goddess of comedy television, Marta Kauffman, who previously co-created one of the most successful TV shows in television history – Friends. Her co-creator here is Howard J. Morris, who worked with Kauffman on the TV show Dream On, and also has According To Jim and Sullivan & Son on his resume.
