When Cathy and Raymond are talking outside the big gray building, at one stage the wind is blowing fiercely, making Cathy's hair all messed. It then appears to be perfect again, while the sound indicates that the wind is still blowing. Her hair then changes between messed up and perfect a few more times.
Sitting poolside in Miami, Cathy shoves a copy of Cosmpolitan magazine in her bag; in next shot, magazine has flip-flopped upside down.
On the train station, when the train is leaving, a woman in purple walks between Cathy and the train. Next shot, the woman is gone.
When Cathy is shown from behind ascending the stairs into Dr. Bowman's building, she has a hat pin in her hat. When she is shown leaving the building after her husband's appointment, there is no hat pin.
When Cathy meets Raymond the first time outside her house, she is up on the porch and he is down a few steps below in the yard. He tells her his father has died and she reaches down and puts her hand on his shoulder. The scene cuts to a view from inside the house and through the window you can see that Cathy and Raymond are now at eye level with Cathy's arm stretched straight outward to Raymond's shoulder. Cut back to the scene outside and Cathy is back to being above him with her arm reaching downward.
Flowers don't bloom outdoors in Connecticut in February, nor do trees flower in early March.
The end credits misspelled 4 of the 10 New Jersey cities/towns that the producers thanked. Elizabeth was misspelled as "Elizabth". Kearny was misspelled as "Kearney". Paterson was misspelled as "Patterson". And Ho-Ho-Kus was misspelled as "Hohokus". Also, Ho-Ho-Kus is a borough, not a city or a town.
Hartford never had numbered streets.
Fall scenes (football, fallen leaves on railroad tracks) with flowering vines and newly opened apple blossoms.
At the end of the movie it is nearly spring, but you can see autumn leaves on the railroad track.
The typewriter around the corner from Frank Whitaker's office is a late-model Selectric (circa 1971 at the earliest).
The Tupperware container Cathy brings to Frank's office is post 1962 color and style.
When Cathy and Raymond were at an all black eating establishment (in North Arlington, NJ), he opens the car door for her. You can see an modern day airline jet in the reflection of the window mostly likely heading to Newark International Airport.
In the opening scene, the parking meters are modern, digital ones. One of them has expired and is flashing.
The date is established as October, 1957, however, there are
an awful lot of 1958 cars around. More than would have been on the road so early in the '58 model year. Also: the shot of the quaint town square shows a 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air police car - with all the top trim level chrome clearly evident. Public agencies buy the cheap version, which, in this case, should have been a Del Ray.
The afternoon/evening scene, supposed to be set in Miami, shows the sun setting (or low in the sky) off the beach. Every beach around/near faces to the east on the Atlantic ocean.
The New Haven Railroad terminated in New York City, not onto Washington, D.C. as the conductor announces. The train pulls out of the station in the wrong direction. The green and gold NH logo was replaced in 1954 by a black, red and white logo.
Hartford, CT does not have a small commuter train station as seen in the movie.
The overhead shot of the front of the train station clearly shows what would be Long Island Sound in the background, but the on the train platform, it is nowhere near the water.
