Right now, the gaming world is waiting for some hack-and-slash adventure in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. This third-person title is going to be released on September 9 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.
However, fans are yet to quench their gaming thirst, as a remastered version of the original Warhammer 40K: Space Marine is in heavy demand right now. That’s why a treat for those fans might be on the table; at least that’s what the Creative Director of Saber Interactive suggests.

The Brad Pitt starrer World War Z isn’t a staple of the zombie genre, but it did inspire the upcoming sequel of Saber Interactive’s Space Marine in a way. Not that the game has anything to do with zombies, but it did give a go to the 2019’s game of the same name, which eventually turned out to be a pivotal player for Space Marine‘s gameplay.
We aren’t going to see the game hitting shelves until September 2024, but the trailer gave pretty much a good idea of what’s in store for gamers. Ultramarine lieutenant Titus will return from the original game to face the enemy faction called the Tyranids.

When a new trailer for a game arrives, fans are usually eager about the gameplay and relevant details that follow. In the case of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, the community seems to be quite vocal about a certain character aspect that has annoyed the studio.
Space Marine 2 is the latest entry in the Warhammer 40K franchise that takes the third-person shooter genre for a spin and lets players fight thousands of Tyranid swarms as they battle for humanity. Well, at least as long as players are focused on the right things on screen.

Many people have dreams of being an actor, sometimes in film and sometimes in television roles.
Some actors fall into the opportunity through lots of auditions, training, and from knowing the right people. But others get their start by becoming a famous name first.
Athletes are often in the public eye, gaining a following for being good at their chosen sport. Once they retire from their profession, some continue to grow their popularity through other ventures.
Many athletes turn to acting, whether through television advertisements and commercials like Coach Prime, Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, Derek Jeter, Eli Manning, and Kevin Durant.
Other athletes like Travis Kelce, Pat McAfee, Deion Sanders (Prime), and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. do podcasts to attract a following.

John Cena has been one of the most prominent faces of sports and entertainment. His WWE tenure was grand with numerous accolades to his credit, including being a 13-time WWE Champion and three-time World Heavyweight Champion. The WWE superstar later went on to find his cinematic career in Hollywood and has been in several movies ever since his debut.

With there being an overlap between wrestling fans and horror fans, it only made sense for WWE Studios to produce See No Evil. And much like The Rock’s Walking Tall and John Cena’s The Marine, this 2006 slasher was designed to jumpstart a popular wrestler’s crossover career; superstar Glenn “Kane” Jacobs stepped out of the ring and into a run-down hotel packed with easy prey. Director Gregory Dark and writer Dan Madigan delivered what the WWE had hoped to be the beginning of “a villain franchise in the vein of Jason, Freddy and Pinhead.” In hindsight, See No Evil and its unpunctual sequel failed to live up to expectations. Regardless of Jacob Goodnight’s inability to reach the heights of horror’s greatest icons, his films are not without their simple slasher pleasures.
See No Evil (previously titled Goodnight and Eye Scream Man) was a last gasp for a dying trend.

Since the ’80s, several pro-wrestling giants have attempted to transition into the realm of movies, but only a few did manage to prevail on the silver screen. And similar was the case for John Cena for nearly a decade, when he started out in showbiz back in the 2000s but was met with little success, as his movies failed to make it big at the box office.
While it seemed his acting career might’ve been heading towards the same track as Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Triple H’s run in showbiz, one change ended up salvaging his career.

The perks of adulation and superstardom that are expected by-products of being a Hollywood celebrity can also sometimes boomerang back to bite one in the face. Wrestling champion-turned-actor John Cena has been on the receiving end of both extremes. As a bonafide action star with commercial blockbusters to his name, Cena has a massive fan base of sports and movie fans.

John Cena certainly isn't the first wrestler to become a movie star. Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, and Andre the Giant brought their muscles to the big screen decades ago. The late '90s and early 2000s saw Bill Goldberg and Dwayne Johnson enter the fray, with the latter becoming one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, and he's still going strong. But it wouldn't be until the likes of Dave Bautista and John Cena that we'd get a pair of wrestlers who truly stepped into the world of acting without relying mostly on their muscular presence to do the heavy lifting on the big screen for them, both literally and figuratively.
Dave Bautista has proven to be a reliable supporting star in the superhero blockbuster franchise "Guardians of the Galaxy," but he's also delivered more haunting turns in the likes of "Blade Runner 2049," "Dune," and M. Night Shyamalan's "Knock at the Cabin.

The transition from wrestlers to actors has become a prevailing trend in Hollywood, with notable figures like John Cena, Dwayne Johnson, and Dave Bautista seamlessly crossing over into the realm of acting. This evolution presents WWE fans with a delightful yet challenging dilemma: selecting a favorite actor among these accomplished individuals.
Whether it’s their prowess in the wrestling ring or their captivating performances on the silver screen, each of these individuals has demonstrated remarkable skill and versatility.

Despite the exceptional abilities of all three, there seems to be prevailing favoritism towards Dave Bautista, best known for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy. According to numerous WWE enthusiasts, Bautista’s on-screen charisma goes beyond mere physicality, striking a chord with viewers and securing his position as the epitome of a wrestler-turned-actor.

John Cena Once Called Dwayne Johnson’s Decision To Leave WWE For Acting (Picture Credit: Facebook & IMDb)
Dwayne Johnson and John Cena had successful careers in Hollywood, but they became famous WWE wrestlers. However, when Johnson diverted to acting, he received a flak from Cena. The Peacemaker actor mocked The Rock for his film Tooth Fairy, and their feud was all over the media back then. It is now just water under the bridge, and they are reportedly past that. John also regretted dissing Dwayne. Keep scrolling to learn more.
Dwayne started his film career with films like The Mummy Returns and The Scorpion King. On the other hand, Cena started his film career with The Marine and did movies like The Suicide Squad, The Wall, Trainwreck, and more. He also had his web series, Peacemaker, in the DC extended universe. The Rock was also part of the old DC universe,...

After working together on the 2021 version of Wrong Turn, director Mike P. Nelson and screenwriter Alan B. McElroy are re-teaming for the Brazil-set creature feature Titan – and Deadline reports that Kiana Madeira of the Fear Street trilogy and Jessica Rothe of the Happy Death Day movies are set to star in the film!
The story Titan is set against the backdrop of Brazil’s Curuçá River in the present day. When a team of young doctors embark on a local humanitarian mission through the Amazon rainforest, it soon becomes clear that not everyone – or everything – is happy to see them. Their arrival draws the attention of an ancient predator, the “Boiúna”. This ancient killer, dominant on land and water, clashes to reclaim the jungle. The ensuing fight for survival blurs the roles of hunter, prey, and hero.
The film is coming our way from the Resident Evil franchise makers at Constantin Film and Jb Pictures.

It’s an interesting month ahead on Hulu, as the streamer rolls out some of the series it’s been keeping in its back pocket for the holiday season.
On December 15, the first season of Such Brave Girls will arrive. The sitcom follows a dysfunctional family – and we mean dysfunctional! – that includes real-life sisters Kat Sadler and Lizzie Davidson. British comedian Sadler has previously written for The News Quiz, Hypothetical, and Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable, but this is her first big TV project. “Everything we joke about in the show is from a place of lived experience,” she told Funny Women. “I wish I could say this is a heart-warming show about overcoming trauma, but that would be a lie. It’s about three toxic, damaged egomaniacs manipulating the world and each other for their own personal gain, vengeance and glory…just like in Little Women.” Sounds good!

Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have announced that they will be revealing the release date for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II early next month (presumably during The Game Awards). However, they’ve also announced that Space Marine II will take a little longer than expected to arrive.
In Focus Entertainment’s letter to update investors on their release schedule, the publisher announced that the game is now “poised to ship in the second half of 2024”, instead of its original winter 2023 release. The purpose behind the delay is to “provide the time needed to properly polish the game and to ensure the best possible experience.”
Focus Entertainment is right to take their time with the development of Space Marine II, given that the anticipated follow-up to the 2011 original has “already accumulated over a million wish lists to date”. It probably also helps that pre-orders have been open since June.

In modern Hollywood, it’s not uncommon for WWE stars to become movie stars, mainly because they have already built their reputation and recognition as celebrities through WWE. John Cena is certainly one of those stars. He started his career as an actor in 2006’s ‘The Marine,’ and he gained further recognition with ‘Trainwreck,’ ‘Bumblebee,’ and the two latest installments of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise. However, he won’t be remembered for any of these roles as much as he’s going to be with the role of Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker, in DC Extended Universe.
John Cena debuted as Peacemaker in 2021’s ‘The Suicide Squad,’ written and directed by the current co-ceo of DC Studios, James Gunn. Cena’s performance received positive feedback, and many fans agreed that Cena found a role that suited him the best, which Cena proved even more in 2022’s spin-off series ‘Peacemaker,’ which is...

Netflix has ordered a Marine comedy drama starring Miles Heizer and Vera Farmiga.
The streamer has greenlit The Corps (w/t), which comes from Andy Parker and Norman Lear.
The series is inspired by Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine.
Set in 1990, The Corps is about Cameron, a bullied, gay high school student who joins the Marine Corps with his straight best friend, Ray — a dangerous move when being gay in the military meant jail time or worse. As these two friends plunge into Marine Corps boot camp, where the landmines are both literal and metaphorical, they join a platoon of young men on a harrowing journey of transformation.
Heizer plays Cameron and Farmiga plays his mother Barbara.
Max Parker, Liam Oh, Cedrick Cooper, Ana Ayora, Angus O’Brien, Dominic Goodman, Kieron Moore, Nicholas Logan, Rico Paris, Blake Burt, Logan Gould, Zach Roerig, Johnathan Nieves, Brandon Tyler Moore, Ivan Hoey Jr.,...

Talk about reviving a franchise from the grave! Twenty-six years (26!) after Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1996 action film Eraser comes a franchise reboot featuring none of the original cast and with two veterans of franchise reboots and Dtv sequels at the helm, director John Pogue and writer Michael D. Weiss. Yet whilst both filmmakers have experience in reboots and sequels they also have some other fantastic movies under their belts – Pogue wrote all Three of The Skulls movies (the second being a personal favourite) and Weiss penned some classic Dtv movies that went on to be staples of the early days of budget DVDs – Octopus and it’s sequel, Crocodile and US Seals 2… Yes, Eraser: Reborn has quite the pedigree.

WWE Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin is guest-starring on Nickelodeon’s “Side Hustle,” and just like his main job and those acting roles in the (post-John Cena) “Marine” movies, it’s a fairly physical gig.
On “Side Hustle,” Mizanin plays Jujutsu star Clint Kickwood, who grunts out “Kick-wood!” as he kicks down Jaget’s (Jacques Chevelle) dojo door.
Kickwood was “hired by a very sorry young man,” he tells Jaget. That sorry young man was Munchy, Jaget’s little bro. Probably extra-sorry now because of the door.
As Clint Kickwood explains, “Clint Kickwood doesn’t just kick stuff, I fix stuff!”
He definitely does seem to kick an awful lot of stuff — especially when he played twins in the movie “Double Kick.” But his mission here is more one of mending a brotherly relationship.
Watch the video above, which is exclusive to TheWrap.

Out of Death is the latest Emmett/Furla production, a company who seem to be following the Pm Entertainment model of churning out action movie after action movie, with actors who are either long-term mid-carders or, like Willis, are in the twilight of their career. I’m not complaining. There was, for quite some time, a distinct lack of mid-budget original action movie fare made in the US. Of course there are the many Dtv franchises that Universal 1440 put out: Behind Enemy Lines, The Marine, Death Race, Sniper, etc. but not much by way of original storytelling. Emmett/Furla obviously saw the same gap in the market are thankfully filling that hole… With varying degrees of success may I add. But they’re still filling a...

WWE’s Mike “The Miz” Mizanin found himself in the thick of the 2021 Royal Rumble last night. He then fairly quickly found himself over the top rope and onto the floor. Miz, who along with his tag-team partner John Morrison was eliminated by rising Nxt star Damian Priest, actually blames rapper Bad Bunny for the failure.
We’ll explain.
For those not caught up on the latest pro-wrestling pay-per-view, Miz (the character) tried (storyline) networking with WWE’s special guest Bad Bunny on Sunday ahead of the Men’s Royal Rumble Match. Bunny, who was at Tampa Bay’s Tropicana Field to perform his song “Booker T” was not particularly interested in such a partnership.
The sheer disrespect set off the heel character played perfectly by Mizanin. Seething, The Miz smashed Bad Bunny’s entrance-ramp-adjacent DJ setup to pieces with his Money in the Bank briefcase. Bad Bunny, the good guy in this scenario,...

When Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took to the stage at the Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida on March 29, 2008, few could have predicted what would come next.
The budding action star was there to induct his father and grandfather into the WWE Hall of Fame, however, at times, his speech felt more like an impromptu comedy roast.
“There was big controversy with the WWE and illegal torture,” one convoluted gag began. “Apparently they would find Iraqi insurgents, tie them up and make them watch DVD copies of The Marine.”
John Cena, who starred in The Marine, was in the audience that night and took the ribbing in good humor, with his exaggerated on-camera reaction spawning what would come to be known as the “John Cena oh s**t gif”.
Johnson wasn’t finished though.

HBO Max has a lot to offer in August, with titles to look forward to including the premiere of a brand new Seth Rogen movie called “An American Pickle” on Aug. 6, and Christopher Nolan’s 2008 Batman film “The Dark Knight” out Aug. 1.
The nascent streaming service also shares content with HBO, with new films coming like “Jojo Rabbit” out Aug. 1, “Birds of Prey” out Aug. 15, “Richard Jewell” out Aug. 8, and “Queen & Slim,” out Aug. 22. The upcoming series “Lovecraft County,” which mixes fact and fantasy and takes place in 1950s Jim Crow America, arrives Aug. 16.
Leaving throughout the month include, tragically, all eight “Harry Potter” films, which will be gone after Aug. 25. Other absolute classics like “Good Will Hunting,” “You’ve Got Mail,” and both “Kill Bill” movies will be gone after Aug. 31, so watch them while you can.

HBO Max is continuing to pull from Warner Bros.’ incredible back catalogue of movies, with August bringing a huge number of new titles to the streaming service. With over 130 new pieces of content, the list of upcoming arrivals encompasses classic films of all kinds, from Oscar winners to comedies, horrors to family pics and, of course, tons of blockbusters.
A highlight for many users will probably be the glut of Batman films coming to HBO Max at the start of the month. Every cinematic outing for the Caped Crusader from 1989’s Batman starring Michael Keaton to 2008’s The Dark Knight with Christian Bale (which just celebrated its 12th anniversary this weekend) are going up on the site. Sticking in Gotham, both seasons of Harley Quinn are also coming to HBO Max, following their original release on DC Universe.

It’s August 2020 and that can only mean one thing: HBO Max is about to enter Lovecraft Country.
Over the years HBO (and by the transitive property its new HBO Max streaming offshoot) has grown accustomed to debuting a buzzworthy new TV show or limited series every couple of months. For August 2020 that will almost certainly be Southern Gothic horror series Lovecraft Country. The J.J. Abrams and Jordan Peele-produced thriller arrives on August 14 on HBO and HBO Max.
Other strong HBO Max originals arriving in August include the documentary Class Action Park (release date Tbd), Seth Rogen-starring comedy An American Pickle (Aug. 6), and finales for I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, Doom Patrol, and Perry Mason.

Wrestler-turned-actor John Cena tells us what drew him to Dolittle and more.
John Cena is one of a handful of actors -- Dwayne Johnson and Dave Bautista are other recent examples -- who started out in the world of professional wrestling before making a successful transition from live sports entertainment to the big screen. As a WWE headliner, he won several championships and began the primary public face of the brand for nearly a decade, while beginning his career as an actor with WWE-produced action films like The Marine (2006) and 12 Rounds (2009).
His comedic turn in Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck (2015) opened up a bunch of new doors for Cena, leading to more roles in hit comedies like Sisters, Daddy’s Home (both also 2015) and Blockers (2018). At the same time, his voiceover work landed him the title role in the charming Ferdinand (2017), based on the beloved children’s book.

He’s a 16-time WWE champ and a movie star on the rise, but John Cena isn’t quite sure why so many kids are in awe of him.
Is it the hilarity he conveys in his feature roles? Maybe it’s how heroic he looks when he executes his signature takedown move against an opponent, or perhaps it’s his dedication to working with hundreds of children through the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
But in all honesty, Cena doesn’t truly know.

John Cena has come a long way since “The Marine,” (2006) the WWE superstar’s first starring vehicle (which has since had so many sequels made without Cena that we’ve lost count). He followed up his not exactly rapturously received action debut with “12 Rounds,” (remember that movie?) and then the wrestler’s acting career seemed to be put on hold for a while (at the time it seemed like a good idea).

With a weekend full of battles against mad titans and ice zombies, it’s almost easy to forget about all those other long-running, sequel-filled franchises. The Fast and the Furious is one such series, but you can expect to hear from its stars plenty in the coming months.
Though intel on the next mainline installment has been hard to come by, Vin Diesel just added fuel to the marketing campaign for both the F&F movies and their spinoff, Hobbs & Shaw, by teasing fans with a possible new addition to the next Furious film: John Cena.

WWE franchise face and surging movie star John Cena is reportedly in talks to join the cast of James Gunn’s Suicide Squad 2.
Suicide Squad 2 might be on the verge of adding a prominent cast member who regularly claims that you can’t see him. – And no, we’re not talking about a metahuman with the power of invisibility.
John Cena is in talks to join the cast of DC/Warner’s Suicide Squad 2, reports Variety. However, details about Cena’s prospective casting are currently scarce, with nothing indicating what character he’d play. Regardless, Cena – a burgeoning movie star and the biggest name to emerge from pro wrestling in the last few decades – would be another high-profile acquisition after it recently added international superstar Idris Elba, who was set to replace Will Smith in the role of Deadshot before the character was cut, though will remain to play a different character.

Stars: Mike ‘The Miz’ Mizanin, Shawn Michaels, Becky Lynch, Louisa Connolly-Burnham, Terence Maynard, Tim Woodward, Martyn Ford, Anna Demetriou, Michael Higgs, Daniel Adegboyega, Alec Newman, Hester Ruoff | Written by Craig Walendziak | Directed by James Nunn
WWE superstar The Miz and director James Nunn re-team for the sixth entry in the Marine franchise, filmed right here in the UK (though you’d be hard-pressed to tell thanks to some impressive set design), The Marine 6: Close Quarters.
This time round The Miz’s titular character, Jake Carter, teams with another WWE superstar, Shawn Michaels, who also plays a former Marine and Carter’s former Co, Luke Trapper. Stumbling across a terrorist plot (as one does) in a disused Oregon Brewery-turned squatters apartment block, the pair join forces to rescue a kidnapped girl (Louisa Connolly-Burnham) from a gang of international criminals, led by Maddy Hayes (Becky Lynch).
