Note: The following story contains spoilers for “The Rookie” Season 6 finale, “Escape Plan.”
“The Rookie‘s” strike-shortened Season 6 came to a close Tuesday night with the action-packed tenth episode, “Escape Plan.” Plus, it might have nudged the door open for a step forward in the fan-favorite relationship between Lucy Chen (Melissa O’Neil) and Tim Bradford (Eric Winter).
Though the duo didn’t re-spark their romance in the finale, which focused on the takedown of Monica (Bridget Regan) and Dr. Blair London (Danielle Campbell), there were still some major moments for #Chenford, as the fandom has lovingly dubbed the pair. Those moments included a heroic sequence for Lucy in the heat of action, as well as a quieter, more emotional elevator scene later in the episode, which series creator Alexi Hawley called “the most important step for the future.”
Before he looked toward what’s next, Hawley contended with the past.

The comedy stars Wilson as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. The still-untitled 10-episode series is executive produced by Wilson, and is created, written and executive produced by Jason Keller. This marks the first television series of Keller’s writing career. He most recently worked on the screenplay for the 2019 film “Ford v. Better Lovers have released a new single, “The Flowering,” ahead of their upcoming North American tour.
The supergroup is comprised of former Dillinger Escape Plan singer Greg Puciato alongside ex-Every Time I Die members Jordan Buckley, Clayton “Goose” Holyoak, and Stephen Micciche, as well as Fit for an Autopsy’s Will Putney. The band’s debut single, “30 Under 13,” topped our list of the 30 Best Metal & Hard Rock Songs of 2023.

“The Flowering” has been in the band’s live repertoire since its first concert, but is only now being released as a proper studio recording.
Verses are structured around breakneck-speed riffs and fast tempos, which are slowed down to deliberate chugs for the chorus breakdowns. Meanwhile, Puciato bounces back and forth between harsh screams and layered melodies, complimenting the guitar arrangement. It sounds like a song written specifically for the live setting — a perfect drop before the tour.

He’s not the Juggernaut, bitch!
There was one big obstacle to getting Vinnie Jones back into character as Juggernaut in the upcoming Ryan Reynolds–Hugh Jackman film, “Deadpool & Wolverine”: That was Jones himself.
In an interview with Yahoo, the 59-year-old English actor said he’d been approached by director Shawn Levy to reprise the role of the villainous mutant he portrayed in Brett Ratner’s 2006 film “X-Men: The Last Stand.”
“It’s such a drama putting that suit on mentally and physically,” he said. “I mean it had its mental toll as well because you’re in it and you can’t do anything all day, you can only drink through a straw. So we couldn’t strike the deal for ‘Deadpool [& Wolverine.’]”
Jones, whose first substantial role was in Guy Ritchie’s “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” in 2008 can currently be seen in Ritchie’s series “The Gentlemen” on Netflix.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Hollywood icon and former Governor of California, has previously expressed a desire to collaborate with Taylor Sheridan, the acclaimed writer-director-producer. But the reason for his interest is not what you might expect.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter last year, Schwarzenegger revealed a surprising reason for wanting to collaborate with the acclaimed Yellowstone showrunner. The action star, 76, revealed that his desire to work with Sheridan stems from a desire to compete with his longtime rival, Sylvester Stallone.

“It was a competition against Sly,” he said, referring to his Escape Plan co-star. While the reasoning may seem a bit odd, it’s hard to argue with the rapport that Schwarzenegger and Sheridan could bring to the table.
Sheridan is known for his gripping and intense storytelling, while Schwarzenegger has proven time and time again that he can bring both humor and heart to his performances.

Lionsgate has acquired domestic rights to the Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lily James and Himesh Patel comedy “Greedy People.”
The film explores what happens when the eccentric residents of a small, picturesque island town are faced with a sensational murder and the discovery of $1 million next to the body. This sparks a series of increasingly bad decisions that do a number on the peace and tranquility of the community.
“’Greedy People’ is a hugely entertaining crime thriller in every way,” said Allison Lynch, Lionsgate’s director of acquisitions and co-productions. “Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lily James, and Himesh Patel lead an incredible cast through twists and turns that range from the hilarious to the horrific – and the movie always keeps you guessing.”
The film’s starry ensemble also features Uzo Aduba (“Orange is the New Black”), Tim Blake Nelson (“The Ballad of Buster Scruggs”), Jim Gaffigan (“Chappaquiddick”) and Simon Rex (“Red Rocket”).

Back in November of 2021, it was announced that Casey Affleck (Manchester by the Sea), Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix), and Emily Beecham (Into the Badlands) had signed on to star in Slingshot, a psychological sci-fi thriller coming our way from director Mikael Håfström (Escape Plan). Filming began on December 1st of that year – and more than two years later, we finally have an update to share on Slingshot! The Hollywood Reporter has broken the news that Bleecker Street has acquired the U.S. distribution rights and are planning to give the film a wide theatrical release at some point before the end of 2024.
Written by R. Scott Adams (Donner Pass) and Nathan Parker (Moon), Slingshot will tell the story of an astronaut struggling to maintain his grip on reality aboard a possibly fatally compromised mission to Saturn’s moon, Titan.
Tomer Capon (The Boys) and The Walking Dead‘s David Morrissey are also in the cast.

There's striking while the iron is hot, and then there's striking while the iron is much closer to room temperature. "Escape Plan," director Mikael Håfström's 2013 action film pairing Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger together for a long-awaited team-up, is the latter. By the time the duo combined their powers to play a prison security expert (Stallone) who is wrongly incarcerated (I sincerely hope writers Miles Chapman and Arnell Jesko patted themselves on the back for coming up with such a brazenly obvious dramatic irony) and has to break out of an illicit maximum-security prison with the help of a fellow inmate (Schwarzenegger), their glory days anchoring '80s and '90s macho-fests were long behind them.
Contrary to that, the first "Escape Plan" is actually pretty fun! Or, rather, it's fun in the same way that Stallone and Schwarzenegger's best action movie throwbacks are, in that the pair spend...

Demons, witches, and devils have been around in religion and life for nearly as long as people have been around. This extends into movies as since the very beginning of motion pictures, we have attempted to capture the fears of these types of fears on film in a number of ways. Most of the media we see on it is built out from existing ideas to create a new narrative that looks to capture the interests of the general public enough to make a profit or base a movie on it. While many people know both the book and movie of The Exorcist, something like The Rite (watch it Here) that more or less came and went in the early 2010s proves that it also has an interesting story to tell. Whether or not you believe in the religious supernatural events found in either the book or the movie, it...

So you can imagine his joy at being asked to compose the music for the Apple TV+ series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” the highly anticipated show in the MonsterVerse franchise that premieres November 17 on the streamer. Except that the truth is, Ross went all-in on the show before he even knew what it was about. As he told Gold Derby’s Latasha Ford during a jam-packed launch event at the DGA Theater in Hollywood this month, he agreed to be the show’s composer based solely on the fact Chris Black had signed on as its showrunner/executive producer. They had worked together once before, on the 2016-2018 Cinemax horror drama “Outcast.” ‘When I got the call to do the show, I just said yes immediately because I love Chris and I...

The Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone bromance is alive and well. This weekend sees the release of Netflix’s Stallone documentary, Sly, and the iconic star’s former mortal enemy turned Bff, Arnold Schwarzenegger has given the film a hearty endorsement on his Instagram:

Arnold, who appears in the documentary discussing his rivalry with Stallone, wrote, “I am so proud of you, my friend @officialslystallone. Everybody, watch Sly on @netflix.” Sly, in response, wrote back, “Thank you so much big man! That means a great deal coming from a great friend.”
In the clip that Schwarzenegger features in his Instagram, Arnie remembers passing on the script for Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. At the time, Schwarzenegger was riding high off the success of two comedies, Twins and Kindergarten Cop, and Stallone was eager to try his hand at the genre.

Hollywood action stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone have opened up on an old feud which they had back in their early days, which led to massive rivalry and even hatred between the two, with Stallone saying that even their DNA hated each other.
The ‘Rocky’ and ‘Terminator’ stars are close friends today, but back in the 1980s when the two were dishing out their most iconic action films such as ‘Rambo’ and ‘Predator’, they were excessively hostile against one another taking pot shots at each other in press meetings, and insulting each other on a personal level.
Allof that, however, ended in the late 1990’s as both the action stars having both in the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain, found themselves traveling together to various openings.
This ended up bringing the two closer, and soon their hatred dissipated and they became fast friends leading them to collaborate with each other...

Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted on a new episode of “The Graham Norton Show” (via NME) that his rivalry with Sylvester Stallone “got out of control” during the 1980s and ’90s. The two actors emerged as action movie icons around the same time that Schwarzenegger released “The Terminator” and Stallone starred in “Rambo.”
“We were movie rivals, but we took the competitiveness to the extreme – we each had to have the best body, we had to kill more people in our films and we had to have the biggest guns,” Schwarzenegger said. “It got out of control and we tried to derail each other.”

Sylvester Stallone had a few opportunities to team up with former rival Arnold Schwarzenegger. And although Stallone was interested in a collaboration, there were certain boundaries he wasn’t willing to cross to work with his rival.

Stallone and Schwarzenegger didn’t star in too many movies together back in the day, but not for a lack of trying. In a resurfaced interview with Ain’t It Cool News, Stallone confided that there were a couple of projects offered to both of them. One of which was based on Stallone’s real-life altercation with a neighbor.

Artist-turned-actor Sylvester Stallone will have a retrospective of his original paintings and art pieces at the Toronto Film Festival, starting today.
The exhibit with mixed-media art, writings and memorabilia by the Rocky and Expendables star will run throughout TIFF, leading up to the world premiere of Netflix’s Stallone documentary Sly that is set to close the Toronto festival on Sept. 16 with a gala screening.
The Bell Lightbox exhibit features 12 original paintings and art pieces created by Stallone from 1975 to 2020. Most are abstract, with vivid paintbrush swirls enveloping images of boxers and commentary on Hollywood fame and royalty. One work, Family Ties, depicts a pregnant mother and a distant father and illustrates the artist’s use of a limited color palette of black, white and red.

Remington Chase, a former film producer who was accused of swindling investors out of at least $234 million, has been reported dead in the United Kingdom.
Chase, 65, died of liver failure on July 31 at Victoria Hospital in Blackpool, according to a death certificate provided to Variety by the Blackpool Registration Service.
His death was also confirmed by his wife, Linda Biron of Marina del Rey, Calif., who said he was a “good person.”
“He got mixed up with some wrong people,” she said in an interview. “He was not out to hurt anybody. He was out to make good movies.”
Chase’s death leaves a long trail of litigation, with numerous parties accusing him of defrauding them out of investment funds, real estate and loan proceeds.
Base Media, a China-based animation and VFX studio, sued Chase and an associate, Kevin Robl, in 2022, accusing them of a massive fraud against the company’s investors.

50 Cent had no kind words about a poster featuring his likeness for the movie Expendables 4.
“Wtf did we run out of money? Why my head look like it ain’t connected to my body. I bet they are gonna make [Sylvester Stallone] look great. Smh,” 50 said in an Instagram caption.
The post might’ve had 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, unintentionally cross the Saf-aftra picket line – which bans members from promoting their films.
The third sequel often stylized as Expend4bles, is 50’s first appearance in the series.
He and Expendables‘ franchise lead Sylvester Stallone worked together prior, collaborating on the Escape Plan film series. 50 Cent will also be reunited with Jason Statham, as the two worked on the 2015 movie Spy.

It used to be that you could find 50 Cent in da club with a bottle full of bub’. Now, you can find 50 Cent on a poster for The Expendables 4, looking like the sort of hack Photoshop job that we’ve all gotten used to – all of us except Curtin Jackson, that is.

The amazing story and career of film legend Sylvester Stallone will be told in his own words in the Netflix documentary Sly. Even though Stallone admitted in a similar documentary about his action movie rival Arnold Schwarzenegger that he felt Arnold probably came out on top, there is no denying the Cinderella story of Stallone’s career. It’s a picturesque example of making it to the big time by blazing your own trail and believing in yourself. Audiences will be able to see Stallone’s story in Sly when it comes to Netflix in November, but The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the documentary will be heading to the Toronto Film Festival.

Sly, Sylvester Stallone’s career-spanning documentary for Netflix, recalling the action icon’s famous performances in Rocky to Rambo to The Expendables, is set to close the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 16 with a world premiere at Roy Thomson Hall.
While a Netflix title, Sly is a documentary film not covered by the SAG-AFTRA TV and theatrical agreements, so the Hollywood actor, writer, director and producer could potentially be in Toronto to walk the red carpet, though his presence is not assured amid the actors strike.
Stallone’s retrospective in Toronto follows a career resurgence on TV where he stars in the Paramount+ dramedy Tulsa King, which has been renewed for a second season, and his Paramount+ family reality show, The Family Stallone, which just finished airing its eight episodes and has also been renewed for a second season.

The beloved action stars that defined the 80s and 90s are not only rolling with the trends but also getting reflective and introspective in their twilight years. Sylvester Stallone found longevity with his biggest creation as Rocky Balboa, when a young fan named Ryan Coogler wanted to make a spin-off sequel with Apollo Creed’s son. Sly may have had an ugly departure from the franchise, but the action legend partnered with Paramount+ to star in two projects — Tulsa King from Taylor Sheridan and a reality show with his family, The Family Stallone.
Sly was recently seen on a Netflix documentary about his friendly rival, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and now the Rambo actor will be getting his own life and career documentary, Sly. The Hollywood Reporter gives us the details on the project, which just released a trailer. Sylvester Stallone has credited Arnold Schwarzenegger for redefining action movies and crowned his formal rival as being the “superior” actor in the genre.
“The ’80s was a very interesting time because the definitive ‘action guy’ had not really been formed yet,” Stallone said in the new Netflix docuseries Arnold (via IndieWire). “Up until that time, action was a car chase like Bullitt or The French Connection. A film all about intellect and innuendo and verbal this and verbal that.”
Stallone went on to praise Schwarzenegger for changing the landscape of action movies by bringing a physical presence that the films could center around. “You actually relied upon your body to tell the story,” he said. “Dialogue was not necessary. I saw that there was an opportunity, because no one else was doing this except some other guy from Austria, who doesn’t need to say much… He was superior. He just had all the answers.

Sylvester Stallone has crowned Arnold Schwarzenegger the “superior” action star, less than a year after openly admitting the two actors loathed each other throughout the 1980s as Hollywood pit their acting careers against one another. In Schwarzenegger’s recently released Netflix documentary “Arnold,” Stallone says there’s no question that Schwarzenegger was the more ideal action hero.

As it turns out, Arnold Schwarzenegger won’t be back for The Expendables 4, despite appearing in the first three as Trent “Trench” Mauser. And no, it has nothing to do with the title being stylized as Expend4bles (Expend-four-bles?).

He added that he did speak with Sylvester Stallone directly. “I said, ‘You know what, we have done this and I’m out of it.’ And he really understood.”

It has been four years since Arnold Schwarzenegger took on a major role in a movie, but he's looking to be back. The Austrian icon is taking the lead in new action thriller Breakout.
Act Of Valor director Scott Waugh will make this one from a script by Richard D’Ovidio. Arnie will play Terry Reynolds, whose stepson, Daniel, is framed and sentenced to 25 years in a foreign country. Reynolds makes a daring jailbreak to save him and must overcome an overzealous prison warden in a race against time to avoid capture and flee the country.
Yes, Arnie already has some screen prison break experience thanks to 2013's Escape Plan, but this should prove to be a different challenge. It'll shoot this year in Europe.
And it has been in development for a while already – the last time it pinged our news radar, RZA was attached to direct.

Mel Gibson (Lethal Weapon), Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson (Escape Plan), Brian Van Holt (Joe vs. Carole), and Nora Zehetner (The Right Stuff) star in the serial killer thriller Boneyard, which is currently filming in Las Vegas. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Asif Akbar (The Commando) is directing the film and crafted the screenplay with Hank Byrd, Vincent E. McDaniel, and Koji Steven Sakai.
Said to be inspired by true events, Boneyard sees Gibson taking on the role of an FBI special agent who, along with the Albuquerque police department, is hunting for a serial killer nicknamed The Bone Collector. The chief of police and one of his officers, however, have a contrary view of the manhunt, believing someone in their own department may be the killer.
It should be noted that, despite the serial killer being called The Bone Collector, this doesn’t have anything to do with the serial killer thriller novel of that title,...

Sylvester Stallone has been a fixture of pop culture for some 50 years, and it began with "Rocky," one of Hollywood's biggest success stories. That is not hyperbole. Stallone wrote a script that took him from obscurity and made him an Oscar-nominated actor and writer with instant star power and a few million in the bank.
Hopes were high for Stallone. Roger Ebert, for instance, wrote that the young actor reminded him of Marlon Brando, who had played a journeyman fighter in "On The Waterfront." However, thanks to mindless vanity pieces like "Cobra" and "Rambo: First Blood Part II," it wouldn't be long before such a comparison was viewed with derision.
Still, people shouldn't forget what made Stallone a success from 1976 to 1982, during which he proved himself as an actor of intelligence, naturalism, and heart. A mixture of ego and '80s commercialism reoriented his dramatic foundation throughout the rest of the decade,...

Before Clint Eastwood sunsets his career as a director, he’s prepping a last hoorah at Warner Bros to go out with a bang. The 92-year-old filmmaker, who directed Gran Torino, Sully, The Bridges of Madison Country, and more, is prepping Juror No. 2, a legal drama featuring two of Hollywood’s hottest stars. After an exhaustive, months-long process to find the right combination of actors, Nicholas Hoult and Toni Collette will join the cast.
Clint Eastwood directs from a script by Jonathan Abrams, with a story during a murder trial. When one of the jurors (Hoult) seeks to protect the defendant without putting himself in jeopardy, he progressively realizes he may have caused the victim’s death in a careless driving accident. With the dark truth looming, the juror must decide to lie and reveal the truth about the case. Does he turn himself in? Does he let the defendant hang?...
