Show stealer FaFa
Akshay_mg14 April 2024
As they were promised they did re introduce Fahad.

No one has ever seen FaFa like this. No one in the whole movie couldn't match with his energy and vibrant performance.

It was definitely an all and out Fahad movie.

Next thing should be mentioned is sushin shyam . He is now a brand, audience are gonna wait for sushin's music. People surely choose his movies not without taking another opinion.

Jithu madhavan is now on the list of most promising Malayalam Directors. His works gonna blow up in the future.

He can perfectly balance each emotion on its correct meter. No scenes were too emotional or cringey everything were perfectly balanced.

It's a FaFa+ Sushin' show
shyamkrishsai11 April 2024
Aavesham has a great 1st half and not that great 2nd half. It's a good mix of mass and comedy. It's mostly a FaFa show all through with some catchy comedic moments from Sajin. 1st half is a laughter riot and the whole theatre vibes was crazy. Sushin' music is so hip that it really ups the game in the mass scenes and as bgm. The new comer kids have done a really good job and they doesn't feel like freshers in acting. They also have plenty of comedic presence and felt fresh alltogether. Eventhough the second half lags a bit giving the feeling of trying to find the right pace and place, overall it's a good entertainer.

Ranga Annan is such a V-I-B-E! [+78%]
arungeorge1313 April 2024
I don't wish to write a detailed, eloquent review for a film that only tries to present itself as a pure, no-holds-barred entertainer with just the right doses of everything (save for a romance). The character sketch of Ranga, along with an insane range of unpredictable emotions, is safe in the hands of FAFAA. He embodies the adorable, fun-loving thug with a penchant for violence (although he's under oath not to inflict any himself) like no other performer can, at least in Malayalam cinema. We've seen him play solemn, serious protagonists with consummate ease, but Aavesham gifts him the opportunity to fully embrace his zany side. If his foray into Tamil and Telugu cinema eventually led to him signing up for such an unhinged role in Malayalam, then I'm all in for those decisions.

The plot can be summed up in two or three lines, but director Jithu Madhavan is adept at keeping the proceedings tremendously enjoyable. As a result, we get a well-cooked mix of terrific action blocks, plenty of laugh-out-loud moments (major credit to Sajin Gopu), and even a little unexpected emotional depth to the protagonist. Sushin Shyam's songs and score are every bit an essential ingredient, without which, the mass moments would lack the necessary knock-out punch. The three guys who tag along with FaFaa also manage to hold up their end of the bargain, and their exchanges especially in the latter half, left me in splits. There are occasional signs of the screenplay running out of storytelling steam, but the fun factor never takes a dip. Once in a while, Malayalam cinema needs an injection of packaged entertainers like Aavesham where you slip into your most comfortable sitting position, clapping and hooting at the antics of an electrifying FaFaa.

This movie is on par with romancham, jithu madhavan is proving to be one of the best directors out there. There's mass, there's comedy, FaFa show through out!!! Amazing movie and a good treat for vishu! Sushin shyam as he mentioned, scene maatti crazy bgm crazy fight scenes. All the characters have performed really well in the movie, being from bangalore i could totally relate to the college life here, one of the best visualisations of a bangalore rowdy this movie is perfect for families and college goers alike. Cinematography was good as well. There was a small lag until fafa enters, but after that its just EDA MWONEEEE.

Fafaa's show all the way
jonny7812 April 2024
This is what you call a theatre experience. I don't think this film would have anywhere close to the impact it had in the theatre

Fahadh Faasil absolutely killed it, his screen presence is just too damn good. Its honestly a crime that he hasnt acted as a mass hero more often, such a blast everytime he was on screen.

As for the film more generally, the plot is almost non-existent but who cares. The music is genuinely brilliant, adding so much energy to the movie. The fight scenes are vibrant.

Something better would've to maybe flesh out the characters of Fahadh's sidekicks (e.g. Amban) a bit more, but considering the film is all about Fahadh we only really need his character to be nuanced and developed, which it truly is.

I can see Ranga becoming a cult character in the Malayalam film industry for sure, what a character, what a performance.

nithinalways18 April 2024
Really enjoyed it. FAFA rocked everyone shocked.

The comedy, the drama and everything was hands down THE BEST i have EVER seen since the past 5 years.

The new actors have done a great job and Sajin's comedic character in the movie was so incredible that half of the laughs in the entire theatre were because of his dialogues and acting.

Fahadh had stolen the show. Character of Ranga which is loud in nature, no other person can pull this in a way which Fafa had pulled. He proved once again that he is the master of all characters.

Moments of non force ability of laughter , well choreographed action sequences, perfect blending of Sushin Shyam's BGM...

Overall a fun entertaining movie...

" Fafaa One Man Show in this Chaotic Theatre Experience "
Abhinav_Sumeet_Kombra17 April 2024
~ Another one of my anticipated films of 2024 and it did not disappoint. It is chaotic , vibey and hilarious. The highlight of the film was Rangannaa and his gang. Fahad Fasil nailed it. Excellent performance. He was hilarious. Absolute joyride whenever he came on the screen. Special mention Sajin Gopu as Ambettan and Roshan Shanavas as Shaanthan , hilarious performance , well done. The essence of the film lies in it's making. Great background scores by Sushin Shyam , great cinematography by Sameer Tahir and the action sequences were great aswell. Jithu Madhavan did a good job directing the film. Even though it has negatives , Fafa just saves it , whenever he comes on, the entire vibe in the theatre changes. Overall it's a fun entertainer which will make you laugh and clap.

Be happy, Rowdy Ranga!
chand-suhas12 April 2024
Aju, Bibi and Shanthan newly join their engineering college in Bengaluru. As they try to stand up against their seniors, they end up getting badly thrashed and humiliated by Kutty and gang. Seeking revenge, Aju comes up with an idea to get local support and all three search for a local goon to help them beat down Kutty and gang, by visiting the local bars. They befriend the Kannadiga Malayali goon Ranga. A simple plan gets Ranga encroach their lives and have a bad influence on them. What turns do their life take, in and outside college, forms rest of the story.

How does Malayalam cinema does it? 2024 truly belongs to Malayalam cinema and Jithu Madhavan after last year's Romancham, proves his worth once again with Aavesham. Setting The story in Bengaluru again and specifically highlighting Kundalahalli, it is Fahadh Faasil as Ranga who drives this film till the end. As simple as the story is, it is the narrative that is the winner. First half introduces to the three boys and their predicament. There was barely a dull moment in the first half as once Ranga character is introduced, it is one laugh riot until that terrific interval block.

It is the 2nd half screenplay where things get serious, showcases Jithu Madhavan's calibre. The story deserved to get serious with the boys understanding the repercussions and it is supremely handled. The last 15mins completely belongs to Fahadh Faasil and he nails his character with a standout performance. The way both the serious drama and humor is balanced here is highly commendable. Like the first half, here too there were clapworthy moments and Aavesham is a complete paisa vasool entertainer. Special shout out to Sushin Shyam for his music.

Aavesham - 'FA'wesome
natureboy-8490712 April 2024
"Aavesham, aptly named for FaFa's latest film, delivers nothing short of pure exhilaration for every one of his fans. The thrill begins from the opening scene and only subsides as the credits roll, although there were moments of slight decline after the interval. Nevertheless, the first half is a testament to the exceptional experiences only Malayalam cinema can provide." Truly speaking no words can describe the performance of Fahad, must be witnessed in a packed cinema hall where the crowd erupts in awe at his every appearance . The sleek smart look , nuanced actions and emotions, and his impeccable dialogue delivery, these would justify the very reason to trend this movie high time . The movie relies heavily on its screenplay and Fahad Fazil, following the trend of many other Malayalam films by not featuring a conventional leading lady . BGM added so much strength to the content and so did the action sequences and comedic elements . While not vulgar or brutal, this movie may not interest the little ones. Second half , the movie began to feel extended and lacked substance although Fahad continued to entertain admirably. The three other actors portraying students, along with Mansoor Ali Khan, delivered their best performances, providing strong support to Fahad. So was the rest of the ones in the movie . When the content takes the lead there is no necessity for a female lead and these movies prove that as well . It's a performance treat for his 'Fa'ns. Overall Aavesham, 'FA'wesome !

Oru fafa ayinjattam
kishan_thachatt11 April 2024
The first half of the movie lived up to the hype, offering complete entertainment, but the second half fell short in comparison. While some emotional sequences didn't work for me, the comedic moments were well-executed. Jithu Madhavan's frames were have his own mass, and the music perfectly complemented each scene by Susin. I want you guys to watch Fafa's performance in theaters. Jithu Madhavan seems to have another hit on his hands after Romancham, showcasing the talent of yet another promising director in the Malayalam industry. I would like to add those three debutants, who is the central character of the movie. They done an amazing job as well.

As the title suggests, some great acting with zero content ,too long, poor writing
laxmisunil-7251320 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
A movie not all suitable for family audiences, especially not for children below 16 years old.

The movie was too long and at times some scenes were a real pain to watch.

The music was too good. Fahad Fazil as Ranga stole the show with his mercurial acting abilities. But really bored of seeing him repeat this kind of goofy characters, again & again.

The three youngsters and Fahad Fazil's side kick did their best, given the poor character sketch that they had been given. The mother character was a real life saver not only for her son but also at times when the movie was going downhill.

Ashish Vidyarthi was simply wasted, his character could have brought some value to the movie.

Malayalam movies are now full of puking scenes. Is it a sign of the times or society in Kerala? No, and its absolutely disgusting if not needless.

The editing and character sketches were so weak The music was really catchy though. Flashes of brilliance was there in the direction aspect.

Aavesham - Retrospective/Reflections
waterlilypatch17 May 2024
I tuned in to watch this long-awaited movie, with a rush of excitement and anticipation. My initial mood mirrored attending the festive vibes of Trissur Pooram or an Utsavam, promising some thrilling "adichu poli" moments. As the movie unfolded, I found myself intrigued by the rumors (read gossips or thallus) about an unchained elephant with a menacing past, in the utsava parambu and the anticipation of what's going to happen.

Fafa embodied the spirit of that rogue elephant in the movie (pun intended), while Amban played the role of the comedic mahout and sidekick with their signature "thallu." Initially I took Amban's thalls with a grain of salt, his charm and innocence ultimately persuaded me to join the procession and fully embrace it along with the three students.

Little did I know that I was about to experience a non-stop roller coaster ride filled with fun, tinged with subtle fear and anxiety.

As we journeyed onward, I immersed myself in the majesty of the tusker, savoring his grandeur, his trumpets, and even his stubbornness. Yet, alongside this awe, a sense of trepidation and unease began to take root and grow within me. Gradually, I found myself dancing with the elephant, caught between exhilaration and fear.

At times, there were moments when I secretly wished (or feared) the chaos to erupt into pandemonium. I braced myself for another psycho Shammi-like moment when Amban cross-talked or rushed ahead, during the cake cutting, but it was during the notorious dumb charades that it truly unraveled.

In retrospective, it began like an ordinary movie then remind me of "Analyze That", "Anger Management", Joe Pesci in Goodfellas and "The Shining". Finally the ending on par with any mass movie.

This was undeniably a remarkable entertainer. The director has already proven his mastery in executing dark humor. "Aavesham" etched its place onto the celebrated list of cult Malayalam movies.

Eda mone... Nee happy alle!

-Sagar.

Excellent script and screenplay. Unbelievable acting by Fahad. Comedy at its best with an excellent social message. Hats off to the entire team. The events illustrated are extremely realistic and deep research on the topic has been done. The dialogues and the cinematography is unmatched. This movie is off the charts. The director definitely needs special mention. The editing team has put in tremendous efforts that is evident. Iconic movie classic to the Indian movie industry and history. 2024 is becoming an year of bumper blockbuster Malayalam movies in a row. However "Aavesham" to its name will definitely be remembered and reckoned.

A must watch action packed entertainer
therikaamesh17 May 2024
I recently had the pleasure of watching a film that left a profound impact on me, particularly as an aficionado of action cinema. This film is not just another entry into the genre; it is a testament to the heights that Mollywood, the Malayalam film industry, can achieve. The movie is a stellar example of what happens when compelling storytelling, nuanced performances, and breathtaking action sequences come together in perfect harmony. For those who relish action-packed narratives, this film is undeniably a must-watch.

One of the most striking aspects of the film is the performance of Fahadh Faasil. Fahadh, already well-regarded in the industry for his versatility and depth, delivers a performance that is nothing short of extraordinary. His portrayal of the protagonist is layered with intensity, vulnerability, and a palpable sense of realism that draws the audience into his world. Every expression, every gesture is meticulously crafted, making his character both relatable and larger-than-life. Fahadh's ability to convey a wide range of emotions without uttering a single word is a testament to his acting prowess. His performance alone is worth the price of admission and is sure to leave a lasting impression on viewers.

However, the film does not rest solely on Fahadh Faasil's shoulders. Each character in

the film brings something unique to the table, contributing to a rich and engaging tapestry of personalities and stories. The supporting cast is exceptional, with every actor delivering performances that are both memorable and impactful. These characters are not mere side notes to the protagonist's journey; they each have their own arcs, their own struggles, and their own moments to shine. This attention to character development is one of the film's greatest strengths, ensuring that the audience remains invested in every subplot and side story.

The action sequences in the film are some of the best I have seen in recent years. They are meticulously choreographed, combining high-octane thrills with a sense of realism that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. The cinematography enhances these sequences, capturing every punch, kick, and explosion with stunning clarity. Unlike many action films that rely heavily on CGI, this movie employs practical effects wherever possible, adding to the authenticity and visceral impact of the scenes. The director's vision is clear: to create action that is not only exciting but also grounded in the film's gritty reality.

But beyond the adrenaline-pumping action, the film excels in its storytelling. The narrative is tight, well-paced, and full of twists and turns that keep the viewer engaged from start to finish. The plot is intricately woven, with each scene contributing to the overall story arc. The screenplay is sharp, with dialogues that are both impactful and thought-provoking. Themes of loyalty, betrayal, and redemption are explored in depth, giving the film an emotional resonance that is often lacking in action-centric movies. This blend of action and drama is what sets the film apart from others in the genre.

Mollywood has been producing high-quality films for years, but this film truly represents the industry at its best. It showcases the incredible talent that exists within the Malayalam film industry, both in front of and behind the camera. The director's vision is brought to life through impeccable production design, a hauntingly beautiful score, and seamless editing that ensures the story flows smoothly from one scene to the next. Every technical aspect of the film is executed with precision, creating a polished final product that stands up to the best in global cinema.

The film's setting also deserves special mention. The locations are not just backdrops but are integral to the story, enhancing the mood and tone of the film. From the bustling streets to the serene countryside, each setting is captured with a keen eye for detail, adding to the film's immersive quality. The use of lighting and color palettes further accentuates the atmosphere, drawing the viewer deeper into the world of the film.

As I reflect on the experience of watching this film, I find myself appreciating not just the thrilling action and compelling performances, but also the craftsmanship that went into creating such a cohesive and engaging piece of cinema. This is a film that can be enjoyed on multiple levels: as a high-stakes action thriller, as a character-driven drama, and as a showcase of the artistic talent within Mollywood. It is a film that will likely be discussed and analyzed for years to come, not just for its entertainment value but also for its contributions to the genre and to the industry as a whole.

In conclusion, this film is a must-watch for anyone who appreciates high-quality cinema, particularly those with a penchant for action. Fahadh Faasil's incredible performance, combined with a strong supporting cast, stunning action sequences, and a gripping story, makes this film a standout in every sense. It is a shining example of Mollywood's potential and a reminder of why Malayalam cinema continues to captivate audiences around the world. This is not just a film; it is an experience, and one that I highly recommend.

Fafa!!
ChickadeeAnna28 April 2024
Finally watched Aavesham in theaters in the US.

It was a very fun movie and I loved everyone's performance. The three youngsters were superb. Ambaan, Ranga and the whole setting was a riot. Fahad has proved again that he can absolutely nail any character that is given to him. One of the most versatile actors in the Indian movie industry right now.

Aavesham was a one time watchable movie. It was fun but I did not feel much connection to the characters. There were a couple of places that felt like they were a bit overdone.

The music and the songs and their lyrics were really good. A good fun movie.

Eda mwone!!!!!!
jeffy-6532021 April 2024
"Aavesham" is a cinematic tour de force that showcases Fahadh Faasil's acting prowess in a way that few films have managed to do.

The plot of the movie revolves around three youngsters moving to Bangalore for pursuing an engineering course. They face brutal abuse and torture from their seniors and seek revenge by befriending a local gangster, Rangaa. The story that unfolds later is both gripping and thought-provoking.

Faasil delivers a performance that is both powerful and nuanced. His portrayal of the protagonist is so compelling that it's impossible not to be drawn into the narrative. His ability to convey a range of emotions through subtle expressions and gestures is truly remarkable. Especially when he says the cult dialogue "Eda mwone", the theatre was full on. 🔥🔥

The debut casting of Hipzter, Mithun Jai Sankar, and Roshan Shahnavaz with their impressive performance and timing stands out throughout the movie. Sajin's performance equally levelled with Fahad's swag 👌and his humour timings and mannerisms was terrific. 👏👏👌

Jithu Madhavan's mixing of dark humour worked out well and the lady who played the mother role did a fantastic job. Last but not the least, Jithu Madhavan got a feather on his cap again and he proved as a Director brand in Mollywood. Sameer Thahir's Frames with Sushin's Background Score was simply fantabulous.👌👌🔥🔥

Kudos to Anwar Rasheed & Nazriya for bankrolling this power-packed entertainer. 👏👏

"Aavesham" is more than just a film; it's an experience that stays with you long after the credits roll. It's a testament to the power of storytelling and the magic of cinema. This is a must-watch for any film enthusiast. Don't miss it!

A Ball
nairtejas4 May 2024
I had a ball watching Aavesham (Enthusiasm), a testosterone-filled revenge comedy drama that starts with the lives of three young men getting enrolled in a college away from home. What starts out as college ragging causing teenage angst soon snowballs into a mess that threatens their existence. It's a usual story that you have seen before but what you haven't seen ever before is the central character of Ranga (Fahadh Faasil). It's obvious that even Faasil and the rest of the cast also had a ball shooting this film, which is full of booze, excitement, and raw energy. It's amazing how he took the role and added some fresh zing to it. While there's too much flashiness in the film, Aavesham talks about identity crisis, rampant inequality, and the silliness of the underworld. Go watch it before it skips the theatres.

FaFa is extraordinary. The film, not so much
ragingbull_200513 May 2024
This is an average masala film that is lifted upon and carried for almost its entire length upon the strength of Fahadh Faasil's extraordinary act.

FaFa has a track record of delivering envious roles. But I was not prepared for this level of brilliance. Physically, he is not intimidating. Even after having witnessed his transformation as a ruthless Godfather in _Maalik_ , it is difficult to imagine him as a menacing gangster. His energy and screen presence will make a true believer out of every jaded viewer and require a separate note of its own. This is, undoubtedly, his best act, by some distance.

I found the movie problematic because it dealt with a super serious issue such as ragging in a light hearted manner.

Also, the multiple incidents of levity redirected towards Hindi, were unwarranted yet seemed intentional.

The background score and songs are catchy.

This is entertaining for the most parts. However, it will be remembered for long because of Fafa's bravura work.

Not a great watch 😐
priyaprakashan-1935815 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I went to the movie with great expectations because of the level set by Romancham, one of my fav movies of last year, and Fafaa.

The story revolves around the life of three Malayalee boys who arrive in Bengaluru for their studies. They stay in hostel. Drink and smoke all the time. Get beaten by their seniors for a few days and now want to take revenge. In the search for a perfect local support, they meet Fafaa, who is a famous goon. Fafaa immediately takes them under his wings, supplies them unlimited food with alcohol and cigarettes, and even women. The boys beat up the seniors with the help of Fafaa. The first half is over.

In the second half, nothing noteworthy happens except some fights. Eventually, the boys get tired of Fafaa and try to get aways from him. They even try to get him killed. At the end, Fafaa accepts the fact that the boys don't want him anymore and want to concentrate on their studies. The end !

First of all, I would like to say that it was not my type of movie. The movie just glamorizes usage of alcohol and cigaretters among youth. To a certain level, such scenes are excusable, but this was beyond that, there was not even a single scene without driniking and smoking. The scene where Fafaa brings prostitutes for the boys totally grossed me out.

Before and after release there's a lot of hype saying that it is a fun movie. But except a few scenes, it was nothing fun. The first half was all about drinking, smoking and dancing. So many pieces of songs came in-between the scenes, which I felt was unnecessary. The second half was slow and boring.

Music was okay. Acting was good. But storyline was terrible. It was not engaging.

Fa-Fa show
crizty-5453918 April 2024
A must watch movie for action comedy lovers. This film is just pure entertainment nothing more or less than that. Fahad carried the protagonist character in shoulder throughout the movie. He is the real game changer. If you liked romancham then Aavesham will not likely tp disappoint you. This film will definetly satisfy the young ordinance and elders who enjoys films like rajamanikam or chattambinadu. The comedy scenes are so spontaneous and the action is well choreographed. At the soul of this movie lies in two things one is fahad's performance and the second is Sushin Shyam's music. Sushin's music uplifts the movie to another level. The film is technically too good.

I personally really liked the movie very much, the theatre was filled with amazing crowd for this movie , moreover the the story of the movie is simple but the way it is taken and executed is just marvelous and insane . The casting for this movie was absolutely perfect and most importantly fafa what an actor yaar, his dialogue "eda monee" is absolutely superb and addictive for me now 😂. The background score and songs from sushin shyam also uplifts the movie and makes it more crazy and entertaining. I really enjoyed the movie and I would to watch the movie again in the theatre. So really go for this movie guysss....... It's a must theatrical experience.
