Exclusive: Patrick Sabongui (The Flash) and Sara Garcia (Ride) are set as series regulars, joining Melissa Roxburgh in NBC’s new drama series The Hunting Party.
Created by JJ Bailey who wrote the pilot episode, The Hunting Party is a high-concept crime procedural about a small team of investigators who are assembled to track down and capture the most dangerous killers our country has ever seen, all of whom have just escaped from a top-secret prison that’s not supposed to exist.
Garcia will play Jennifer Morales. A bright and natural optimist despite her tough upbringing, Jennifer is an intel officer and major in the Army.
Sabongui portrays Ryan Hassani. Rugged and world-worn but with a casual air, Hassani is a CIA agent tasked with managing the crisis.
The Hunting Party, which received a straight-to-series order, is executive produced by Bailey and Jake Coburn who are writing and co-showrunning together.

With five feature films under his belt, this past summer Maxime Giroux moved into the saddle of his English language debut (2014’s Félix et Meira works in multiple spoken dialogues) with In Cold Light. Lassoing the likes of Maika Monroe, Troy Kotsur and Helen Hunt, this crime thriller could easily wait until the autumn film festival circuit, but if they move quickly then this would be a return to Park City for Giroux who last premiered his 2005 short “Le Rouge au Sol”. Sara Mishara is the cinematographer here.

Not every TV and film production will stop amid dual strikes by SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America. A host of projects stopped work after writers went on strike against media companies for better pay, streaming data transparency and protections against artificial intelligence (among other issues), and many more have paused since actors walked out on July 14.
There are exceptions, however. SAG-AFTRA’s strike rules allow for work on productions covered under different agreements, and the union can grant waivers or sign interim agreements with independent productions. Below is a list of TV shows and films that fall under those designations; this story will be updated as more productions earn waivers.
