Could Michael B. Jordan be out as the hero of Olympus? Could a Kingsman alumni be scooping up the role instead?
In a recent discussion on Disney rumors, The DisInsider‘s Skyler Shuler and Boardwalk Times‘ Zach Perilstein had some exciting news regarding the casting of upcoming movies. We’ve known for sometime that both actors were being eyed by Disney for the lead, but something may have recently changed.
When asked about the “top choices” for the role of the Greek hero and son of Zeus, Shuler had the following to say:
“Last I heard, Egerton was high on Disney’s “wishlist” as is Austin Butler, Jordan’s was not mentioned to me in my recent discussion with a source.“
That’s not much to go on. I’m not saying the “insider” info isn’t solid, but the longer Disney waits to pull the trigger, the more scheduling...

After performing epically in quite a few romantic comedies until 2010 and winning the hearts of fangirls worldwide, Gerard Butler seems to have switched lanes permanently into the action genre. Well, he is acing it in that too, considering how the 54-year-old actor is once again reportedly all set to return to the big screens with Empire State, his next major action-thriller project.

But while he is still performing as brilliantly as ever in this respective genre, viewers can’t help but notice a similar pattern in a lot of Butler’s movies of the action/thriller/adventure themes. That being said, after hearing reports of this very upcoming action movie of his, a lot of fans seem to know already what to expect to see from it!

This article contains spoilers for Blood of Zeus season 2.
Netflix has increasingly become the top place to turn for hard-hitting adult animation and Blood of Zeus immediately made waves upon its 2020 release. The Powerhouse Animation production remixes Greek mythology into an engrossing dark fantasy that feels like God of War meets Game of Thrones. Heron, the demigod son of Zeus, embarks on a bold and bloody journey for identity, autonomy, and authority that concludes the first season on an apocalyptic note where supernatural Giants storm Olympus and challenge its Gods. Blood of Zeus season 2 reaches such extreme heights that its freshman year almost seems quaint in comparison.
Zeus’ tragic death precipitates a terrifying power vacuum that throws Olympus into unprecedented chaos and lights a fire under Hades to steal his brother’s throne and claim what he believes to be his birthright. The growing war between Hades and Zeus, and Heron and Seraphim,...

Mythology offers some of the most enduring and rich stories when it comes to epic storytelling. And at the top of the pantheon of mythical figures sits Zeus, the king of the gods in Greek mythology. Throughout Hollywood history, many stars have tried their hands at playing this powerful deity, with varying degrees of success.
Having said that, it makes sense that we should honor the actors who gorgeously portrayed Zeus on screen. Since he is the undisputed leader of Mount Olympus, it is about time he had his own list. Those who have portrayed Zeus on screen have done so with a certain stoicism that is more in line with ancient Greek depictions.

Fortnite launched in 2017 at a time when single-player games were at an all-time high but managed to gain notoriety for its unique gameplay and build features that rival the competitive nature of multiplayer games like Call of Duty. The player count and community grew as more YouTubers and influencers began to cover the game, it was inevitable for public figures like Dr. Disrespect and TimTheTatman to draw some comparisons.

Everyone has been pondering the same question: how to get the Avatar Korra skin in Fortnite? The trailer gave fans an unexpected but welcome surprise to see the Avatar alongside the likes of Greek Gods and Myths. The only real downside when playing an online live-service game is downtime, and the two biggest multiplayer games at the moment are Helldivers 2 and Fortnite and even they are not immune from server maintenance. The agonizing pain of having to wait for hours before being able to log in and see and try the newest content, but with great content comes great downtime.
Helldivers 2 servers were not prepared for the number of players wanting to dive in after the recent mech updates, players had to wait for quite some time to queue in a match. Fortnite, however, is a much grander game in terms of scale and has seen quite a significant overhaul by removing some parts and replacing them with something better.

In a couple of months, it will be a year since we lost the late, great Lance Reddick. His passing was a shock as it came so suddenly, and at a time where he had incredible works on the horizon. We haven’t even seen the last of his work as he’s due to make a cameo appearance as his John Wick character, Charon, in the spin-off Ballerina. He can recently be seen in the Disney+ show, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, where he fittingly portrays the Greek God, Zeus. Reddick would finish filming the first season just before his untimely passing.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians would finally premiere on Disney+, and the season finale featured an epic conflict with Zeus on the top of Mount Olympus. Deadline reports that the show would pay tribute to the late actor by closing out with a title card that read,...

However, Episode 7 revealed that there is actually more to the story.
A lot of media based on Greek mythology will make Hades the story's villain — Disney's Hercules, Katee Robert's Dark Olympus, and even the Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief movie are all guilty of this.

Behold, worthy Midgardians! Beamed directly across the Bifrost, the full-length trailer for “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
The Taika Waititi-helmed film is the only title in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s “Phase Four” to center on one of the original Avengers. It comes hot on the heels of the House of Ideas’ spring hit “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” and ought to tide comic book movie lovers over until late November when the world braces for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

‘Percy Jackson’ Author Rick Riordan Slams Racist Backlash Against Leah Jeffries’ Casting as Annabeth
“Percy Jackson” author Rick Riordan published a blog post May 10 condemning the racist backlash against Leah Jeffries, the young actor who is set to play Annabeth Chase in the upcoming Disney+ series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” Variety exclusively reported Jeffries’ casting on May 5. The actor will star in the show opposite Walker Scobell as Percy and Aryan Simhadri as Grover. Some “Percy Jackson” fans have expressed outrage online over Jeffries playing Annabeth because the Black actor does not match the skin color of the character as originally written in Riordan’s novels.
“This post is specifically for those who have a problem with the casting of Leah Jeffries as Annabeth Chase,” Riordan writes. “It’s a shame such posts need to be written, but they do…Leah brings so much energy and enthusiasm to this role, so much of Annabeth’s strength. Gerard Butler filed a lawsuit on Friday against production company Nu Image/Millennium Films, charging that he is owed at least $10 million in backend compensation for the 2013 film “Olympus Has Fallen.”
Butler’s suit comes on the heels of another high profile legal battle between a star and a producer over compensation. On Thursday, Scarlett Johannson filed suit against Disney, citing the simultaneous release of “Black Widow’ on Disney+ and in theaters. Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine have announced their new collaborative album, A Beginner’s Mind. The LP arrives on September 24th via Asthmatic Kitty and it’s available for preorder.
The duo began working on songs for the album while at a friend’s cabin in upstate New York, loosely basing the material on films they were watching. They each built upon the other’s songwriting in tandem, with one writing a verse, the other taking on the chorus. This approach resulted in a more freeform “rambling philosophical inquiry” rather than “cinematic exegesis,...

Kingdom Hearts is one of the most beloved video game series’ of all time and the latest installment to the franchise, Kingdom Hearts 3, released in January 2019. There’s so many characters to keep track of within the Kingdom Hearts franchise and Kingdom Hearts 3 is no different. The cast of the third installment in the Kingdom Hearts franchise not only includes its own original characters, but also crossover characters from Final Fantasy and Disney properties. While these characters may change from game to game, some have managed to stay throughout the whole franchise like Olympus from Disney’s Hercules movie.

In case you missed it: Respawn recently announced a brand new event for Apex Legends. Fight Night Collection goes live in-game tomorrow, January 5th, and promises to introduce the usual bevy of cosmetic items and limited-time gameplay opportunities. Two so-called town takeovers – one of which sees Pathfinder install a spectacular boxing ring where only fisticuffs are allowed – are on the cards to spice up life in Olympus, but that’s not all.

Rich in content it may already be, but Respawn Entertainment has absolutely no intention of scaling back its plans for Apex Legends.
The battle royale, which launched in 2019 and swiftly became an overnight success despite the lack of any real advertising, just recently celebrated the arrival of Season 7. Notable not only for adding all the now-standard features fans expect on a trimonthly basis, Ascension also debuted a third map, Olympus, alongside usable vehicles. Owing to the new arena’s vast size and scale when compared to Kings Canyon and/or World’s Edge, the so-called Trident allows squads to mount up and speed around the utopian city’s streets and even engage in mobile warfare.
It’s not quite the long-awaited introduction of pilotable mechs from Apex‘s spiritual predecessor (Titanfall), but who knows what the future holds? Respawn has stated in the past, after all, that dropping the bipedal...

It may be coming much later than advertised, but Apex Legends is finally getting a hugely requested feature in an upcoming patch.
For those not aware, the number of cosmetic and customization options available in the battle royale since it launched last year has ballooned to gigantic proportions, to the extent that keeping track of every unlock for every member of the roster can quickly become something of a logistical nightmare. To help keep players notified of any new additions to their collections, a small pulsating light will appear next to the respective character which the acquired skin or badge belongs to. A helpful signal, no doubt, but one that can also quickly start to grate, especially for folks with certain compulsive tendencies.

Over the last decade or so, Gerard Butler has firmly established himself as the king of the mid-budget action movie. Not quite the man the major studios turn to for leading $100 million blockbusters and nowhere near the VOD purgatory that swallowed up Bruce Willis and Nicolas Cage, either, the 50 year-old occupies the comfortable middle ground as the person to call if you need a reliably gruff and charismatic leading man to anchor a standard shoot em’ up.
The jewel in Butler’s crown has undoubtedly been the Fallen series, which has given him the most popular role of his career since Zack Snyder’s 300. The grizzled Scotsman plays no-nonsense Secret Service agent Mike Banning, a man prone to incredible outbursts of violence that have seen him punch, shoot, stab, strangle and detonate his way through three entertaining adventures so far.

Respawn Entertainment has sent a strong message to unsavory Apex Legends players with its latest ban wave announcement.
Connor Ford, a member of the battle royale’s anti-cheating security team, confirmed in a recent post over on Twitter that more than 400 top performing participants in the Apex Games have been barred from competing, following the discovery of a nasty exploit. According to Ford, 419 people placed in Diamond or higher have been stripped of their right to continue playing, and for good reason. While specifics aren’t shared, it appears as if the offending action which ultimately prompted the developer to serve justice involved abuse of Ranked mode’s built-in matchmaking algorithm.
Those who resorted to using the cheat were able to match against players in the lowest bracket (Bronze), essentially allowing them to farm the required points to progress by eliminating less skilled opponents.

Respawn Entertainment has just released the launch trailer for Apex Legends Season 7, confirming several leaks in the process, including the long-awaited arrival of an all-new map.
As teased earlier this month, World’s Edge, on the verge of total collapse due to continued experiments conducted by Hammond Robotics, has forced the Apex Games and all of its participants to relocate elsewhere. Rather than head back to Kings Canyon, however, Mirage, Rampart, Pathfinder and their fellow competitors have emerged from warp space on the floating settlement of Olympus. This idyllic utopia doesn’t stay pristine-looking for long, however, as no sooner do the aforementioned trio arrive, is their drop-ship shot down by a building-sized rail gun.

This article contains Blood of Zeus spoilers.
Netflix has found a lot of success with their recent run of animated series and anime that are centered toward more mature audiences. Blood of Zeus mixes together Greek mythology with Shakespearean melodrama and stunning fight sequences. Powerhouse Animation has meticulously crafted this series that follows Heron, an outcast to Mount Olympus due to his complicated connection to Zeus. Heron immerses himself deeper into the world of Gods, all while a dangerous bid for power grows between God, human, and Demon over Zeus’ role in Olympus.
Blood of Zeus features remarkable action sequences and animation, plus nuanced storytelling that does its source material justice. Its first season tells a satisfying and complete story, but it also features some major twists and plants some seeds for what’s ahead in season two.

There’s a telling moment in “Belushi,” R.J. Cutler’s meticulous and touching life-and-death-of-a-comedy-legend documentary, in which John Belushi, a rising star at Second City in Chicago, gets asked during a radio interview what he thinks of Lou Costello — who was, in the interviewer’s eyes, another genially wacked, roly-poly comedian. Belushi, clearly annoyed, says: Nope, don’t like him. Belushi then goes on to say that he’s not a comedian beholden to the past; he’s out to create something new. That sounds like something a lot of comedians might say, but in Belushi’s case it really was true. Even a live-wire original like Robin Williams saw Jonathan Winters as a god, and Belushi did have influences (including Winters and Bob Newhart). But — his what-the-hell magnetism, and his compulsion to push everything he touched to extremes.
It may sound like an evasion tactic when a documentary keeps...

Gerard Butler has more than established himself as one of the biggest names in B-level action over the last decade, largely due to his starring role as no-frills Secret Service agent Mike Banning in Olympus, London and Angel Has Fallen. The franchise doesn’t aim particularly high, and as a result, there’s plenty of fun to be had in the unashamedly old school movies that hark back to the genre’s preposterous one man army heyday of the 1980s.
Not exactly blockbusters but far from box office bombs, either, the series has so far raked in over half a billion dollars globally, and a fourth installment is already in the works with Angel‘s Ric Roman Waugh set to return. Reviews have been consistently middling, but fans know exactly what they’re going to get from these mid-budget shoot em’ ups.

Guillermo del Toro recently unveiled new details for his passion project based on the “Pinocchio” fable, a dark take on the boy puppet for Netflix. At the same time however, Disney is still plotting its live-action remake of “Pinocchio,” meaning there could be two very different versions of the same story on screen in the near future. Those two dueling projects wouldn’t be the first example of twin movies arriving within months or weeks of one another. Sometimes it’s because of studios racing to adapt a popular IP or moment in history, because of scripts that float all across town or because of sheer coincidence. But we’ve had years with two mall cop movies, two movies about terrorist attacks on the White House or two movies about talking bugs and fish. Here are some other notable twin movies.

Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman are leading the way at the North American box office with “Angel Has Fallen” on its way to about $20 million, early estimates showed Friday.
Should forecasts hold, “Angel Has Fallen” will take in about double the next title, Universal’s second weekend of raunchy comedy “Good Boys” with about $10 million. “Good Boys,” which appears to have broken the recent comedy slump at multiplexes, will wind up the weekend with more than $40 million in its first 10 days.
A quartet of titles will be battling for third place in the $7 million to $9 million range with the opening of Sony-Affirm’s faith-based “Overcomer” as the early leader, followed by Disney’s sixth weekend of “The Lion King” as it heads to $510 million, Universal’s fourth frame of “Hobbs & Shaw” and Fox Searchlight’s launch of horror-comedy “Ready or Not.”

As a Kingdom Hearts fan that has stuck by the series through every iteration over the past sixteen years, I feel that I have managed to keep track of the ongoing storyline, against all odds. Kingdom Hearts III provides a satisfying conclusion to the story of Sora and Xehanort that fans of the series could ever hope for.
It hasn’t been easy keeping track of the entire plot. I won’t delve into absolutely everything that has happened in the past, as there are plenty of really good YouTube videos that do a tremendous job of explaining everything you need to know before playing Kingdom Hearts III. If you haven’t played any of the games and are keen to check this out, I recommend watching a recap of the series, simply because the plot involves alternate worlds, time travel, replicas, alternate versions of the same person, and more.

It turns out that all the worlds that are going to be featured in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 have been revealed! Thanks to the folks over at hardcoregamer.com, we're going to be able to give you guys the skinny on them right now. The first Kingdom Heart 3 world that hardcoregamer mentioned is the 100 Acre Wood. Sora will once again make his way to the 100 Acre Wood. Currently, it is unknown how he gets there this time. However, it's likely that he arrived through the storybook which has appeared in almost every game. Sora will be traveling with Pooh Bear, Tigger, Rabbit and the rest of the crew, including a newcomer named Lumpy. The 100 Acre Wood features various minigames. The second world is Arendelle.

I spent a lot of time at the Streamers Connected stage during that afternoon talking to growing Twitch streamers...
