Before Luke Mitchell made a home on Chicago Med this season, the ubiquitous Australian actor appeared on many, many TV shows, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Blindspot, The Code, Legacies and Big Sky.
But it’s Mitchell’s breakout Stateside role on The CW’s The Tomorrow People, where he played the superpowered group’s leader John Young, that stands out for the actor. When asked which of his past characters he would like to revisit, Mitchell is quick to single out the short-lived series, which aired during the 2013-14 TV season.

Adapted from the comic book by Frank Darabont, the post-apocalyptic horror show delves into the harrowing struggles of survival in the midst of a zombie apocalypse.
As the name and the concept of the show suggest, it witnessed the demise of several characters throughout its 11-season journey. These deaths are often portrayed in the most heart-wrenching and brutal manner imaginable, leaving fans devastated.

However, when the decision was made to kill off Merritt Wever’s character, the showrunners were unprepared for the immense backlash that followed from the LGBTQ community. Even the actress herself was taken aback by the audience’s reaction.

Broadcast pilot season was already mostly dead when the Hollywood strikes came along. But to paraphrase Billy Crystal in “The Princess Bride,” “There’s a big difference between ‘mostly dead’ and ‘all dead.’ Mostly dead is slightly alive!”
And that’s where pilot season now stands: Mostly dead — and yet still stubbornly, slightly alive. A relic of a bygone TV era, broadcast pilot season has been on the chopping block for years as networks aimed to get out of that springtime crunch by focusing on year-round development.
The fact is, pilot season was already so disrupted there was not much left to disrupt, strikes or no strikes. After all, last pilot season saw the broadcast networks pick up just six shows out of their combined 14 pilots. Compare that to pre-pandemic times, when it was a shock that the broadcast networks ordered just 60 pilots in early 2020.

Well, this is more than disappointing.
Just days after it was revealed that Kara Kilmer would be leaving Chicago Fire, the series has confirmed its intention to say goodbye to another series regular.
Alberto Rosende, who has played fan-favorite Blake Gallo since Chicago Fire Season 8, will be written out on the Chicago Fire Season 12 premiere.
The actor was initially employed in a recurring capacity but struck such a chord with viewers that he was upgraded to a full-fledged series regular shortly after.
Losing another familiar face is never a good sign, but the One Chicago universe has many movers and shakers right now.
The only solace we can take from this news is that Rosende will appear in one final episode to bring Blake's storyline to a close.
The other good news is that we're convinced Blake will not be killed off because this show likes to deliver shocking twists.

Here is a wrap-up of all the news you need to know from Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
After saying goodbye to countless cast members over the last few years, Luke Mitchell is joining the cast of Chicago Med.
We previously reported that Dr. Charles would be getting a blast from the past, and thanks to Deadline's exclusive, we can reveal it will be in the form of Mitchell's Dr. Mitch Ripley.
Don't get too attached to that name because the outlet states that there's a possibility the name could change.
Okay then.
As of now, Mitchell is on board in a recurring capacity, but there is the option to expand him to series regularly.
That, we guess, will be based on the reaction to the arc being cooked up involving the actor.
Chicago Med Season 9: Everything We Know
Mitchell is one of the best actors out there, so we really hope this works out for him.

NBC's revival of the Quantum Leap series has been a masterclass on how to continue a beloved narrative while moving it forward in scope and messaging.
The writer-producer dynamo duo behind its success, Martin Gero and Dean Georgaris, lead the production team with ambitious enthusiasm and vision.

Season 2’s route will be revealed in due course. The non-celebrity version has run for three seasons and has also been a big hit for the BBC. Factual entertainment boss Catherine Catton said she had been “delighted with the reaction particularly from young audiences” to Season 1 of the celebrity run. The news comes just a few days...

Josh Hutcherson and Elizabeth Lail lead the cast of the horror film. Piper Rubio, Kat Conner Sterling (We Have a Ghost), Mary Stuart Masterson (Blindspot), and Matthew Lillard also star.
Scott Cawthon created the Five Night at Freddy’s game and is involved as a writer and producer. Seth Cuddeback also co-wrote the screenplay, with Bea Sequeira, Russell Binder, Marc Mostman, and Christopher H. Warner executive producing. Excluding ‘The Avengers,’ ‘Thor’ is the only sub-franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has spawned four movies so far, and it’s safe to say we’ll get more of Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder since the post-credit scene of his latest movie announced that “Thor will return.” There are some rumors about the potential fifth movie, while some others are saying that Thor will return only in upcoming crossover movies, but none of that has been confirmed yet.

Exclusive: Hulu is joining the latest round of programming purges.
The streamer is pulling off a number of additional series from its service as part of Disney’s wider plan to cut streaming costs.
The company revealed last month in an SEC filing that it would take $1.5B-$1.8B in write-downs associated with removing streaming programming from its platforms and expects to remove from more its direct-to-consumer platforms in the third quarter with another $400M in impairment charges.
Deadline now can reveal some of those titles.
They include Alaska Daily and The Company You Keep, which were both canceled at ABC after one season. Both shows would normally have stayed on the service until September, or later if Hulu had struck a longer deal, but are to be removed earlier next month.
Deadline understands that, going forward, ABC series canceled after one season, as well as specials, likely will fall under a similar strategy.

Award-winning writer and producer Chris Heath has announced a brand-new audio sitcom Cat/Person; a series of overheard conversations between a broken man Matthew (Chris Heath) and Hobson (Sue Vincent), his sarcastic, selfish, sociopathic rescue cat. Cat/Person accurately and hilariously encapsulates the kind of relentless emotional hazing that cats love to lavish on their eager-to-please ‘owners’.
Matthew is doing his best to keep himself from falling into a black hole following an unhappy divorce. To get him through the dark days, his friends recommend that he gets himself an emotional support animal.
Unfortunately, after a trip to the local Animal Shelter, he chose Hobson, a rescue cat played by Sue Vincent. Matthew is sentimental, messy and lonely. Hobson is hungry and is insisting on a treat. Immediately.
In each episode, we’ll overhear a selection of conversations between human and cat, as Matthew tries his best to navigate his...
