Legends wipes out on the River of Time
imakk20015 May 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Once again Killer, Klepto and Pyro save the show from being outright unwatchable. Love the GoT-style reference: Destroyer of Worlds v. Robber of ATMs! Snart brings the snark every time. Plus, now we know the future not only has no cows but all snacks are sugar-free. Which kind of begs the question: what is the freaking point of saving the future?!

They better not be teasing again with Ray/Kendra splitting up. Of all the DCTV pairings, they're the most clunky/forced/unbelievable. Ray and Kendra deserve better than to be saddled with this awful tripe.

Got a case of dusty eyes during Martin and Jax's respective scenes with their loved ones and their last scene together. Snart's "because you deserve better than this" to Jax was surprisingly touching, yet true to the man.

And STILL, Kendra won't brain Savage as he laid there unconscious. Although, this time I blame all of them. Duh, what did they think was going to happen when they let Savage walk out of the Waverider alive?

For Snart, Rory, Martin and Jax: 8

Even worse than the prior episode
westley3411 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This otherwise excellent show has now gotten almost unwatchable. I have to agree with another reviewer, Burrows and Scofield (Rory and Snart) have really become the best thing about this show, but they don't save this stinker. The characters make one abominable mistake after another. First Kendra fails to grab the mace when carter drops it then attack Vandal. She had time to get it, and the importance factor can not be over exaggerated, then by some miracle she beats Savage without it and manages to knock him out, but then once again fails to grab the mace and kill the guy that will continue to kill her and Carter as soon as they reach adult hood, over and over throughout eternity. So then they throw him back in a cell and Palmer is stupid enough to go in against him without even his armor (he would have lost even with his armor on, and he had to know that). Yes I understand that it was a matter of pride, but he risked the lives of all his friends by releasing him. Then Rip Hunter fails to even try to talk Kendra in to killing him because he for some reason thinks turning him in to the time lords is a better idea. He still could make the same point to the time lords after having Vandal killed, and returning all the people back to 2016, but he gambled and now they are all imprisoned. TOTALLY INSANE. How does this get 7.9 star over all???

A character in this show turned out to be a villain herself
Thetruthisinhere24 October 2017
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS AHEAD This episode was destroyed by the incredibly unforgivably selfish, inconsiderate, irresponsible and no concern shown by Bird Girl( Hawks don't deserve to be associated with her anymore). She would rather, literally, have a mother, wife and child die, and countless others, all of humanity really, die ! rather than have her ex( hawk boy) spend 1 lifetime out of the hundreds of lifetimes he's lived and hundreds he will still live, without..GASP...remembering his ex Bird Girl. His life wasn't even on the line ! and EVEN IF it was, he would still be re-incarnated again and she could be with him again but without Savage murdering them and getting stronger each time from it(lore) and murdering billions of people to rule as dictator. She chose a pathetic, borderline evil, inconsiderate route, even as Rip reminded her his family would die( he should have mentioned HUMANITY, genocides, destruction and suffering he would further enforce, too) she STILL chose ...chose what ? Something which might even be a lie Savage made up to make her doubt killing him?! And she thinks he will restore his memories? What nonsense, who writes this kindergarten stuff ?! Worst episode by far, threatening to make it one of the worst TV shows ever made. There has been pure propaganda and confirmed lies in a couple of prior episodes (about modern day Russia for example in one episode), but this here is yet another example of writers having to be fired, too many botched episodes ! TO top it all off, adding insult to injury, Kendra JUST TOLD Ray, in the last episode, how Carter is her PAST, Ray is her FUTURE.

And now she will let a genocidal homicidal maniac go just to have 1 incarnation of her Ex remember that he is hawk boy and loves Kendra ? HOW SELFISH ! Evil ! Character of Kendra already made really selfish questionable choices in the past, especially how she belittled Ray, lied to him etc, for completely selfish reasons, and now this takes the cake. She is done, retire her from the show, she should get her hawk boy and leave forever after they figure out how to end Savage. She is a horrible human being, she thinks probably that it's no big deal billions will die, she forgot completely what the mission was, to save humanity, including Rip's family ! What a piece of .... Kendra is ! Writers destroyed a potentially great character, and she is a good actress, and made a despicable and unlikable pathetic selfish character out of her who cares not of humanity, if it means to get her ex-bf's memories back in this 1 lifetime, and F Ray over also of course. She deceived Ray too '' you're my future'', nope!

Incompetence

The titel refers to the writers and the actions of the majority of the shows characters in this episode. I agree with other reviewers. Mick and Snart are the only reason I keep watching. And I sincerely hope the whole Savage arc comes to a definitive close soon cause it's drawn out and boring.

When I first started watching this series I was hoping it would be about correcting the time line a bit more in old school style of old time traveler shows like "The Time Tunnel", "Voyagers" or even "Quantum leap". Unfortunately the show is about a ridiculous plot that has holes you could park the moon in. For instance, why don't they just go back 4000 years in time and give that asteroid that gave Savage immortality a Shove so it misses the earth? There are countless ways to change the timeline long before the hawkies got murdered for the first time. Making sure one pair of Savages ancestors never meet and procreate would be another option. Stealing the knife with which he kills them would be another. How about saving all the incarnations of the hawkies from savage killing them so he never gets their powers? Just thinking about it for a few minutes and any one with a bit of imagination could come up with a dozen ways that are better then what they have been doing in this first season.

typical berlanti trash
Superheroes (which is debatable) are supposed to be this stupid? Palmer has to prove to himself that he's a man, so he nonchalantly opens the prison door so that Savage can get loose. And buck teeth has had, what?, five chances to kill him and didn't, just to keep the barfing story line going. I have to agree with another reviewer, Snart and Mick are the only believable characters on the show. I can only wonder how long it will be before berlanti ruins them as well.
