LoT Bringing the Big Moments and FEEEEEELS!!!

Warning: Spoilers
We finally see all the groundwork for Ray/Rory/Snart/Sara play out this ep, and it was totally worth the journey (tedious though it may have felt at times). Without that, Rory bringing himself out of the brain-washing, Ray staying optimistic even in light of his death, Rory sacrificing himself to save Ray, Sara going with Snart to save Rory and Snart ultimately saving Rory, all of that would have felt forced/unearned. This self-sacrificial chain was oddly humorous yet heart-felt. They're adults who've circled the sun for several decades and don't need the cheesy speeches to do the right thing. They just do it and top it off with the perfect comment such as "there are no strings on me".

Odds and ends:

  • Shouldn't they return 2166Carter to his time? He can't stay with currentKendra, right?

  • Good thing they kept Eobard Thawne's time bubble.

  • I see what you did there, show, with Jax telling presentStein about roofie-ing him.

  • Rip's wife and son are LoT's Nora Allen.

  • Thanagar!

The entire Occulus scene was the most powerful of the series. Score: 9.5

Destiny of this show was to be good

This show has gotten better week by week. Now we enter the second last episode, and boy it delivers. We really get to see how far certain characters have evolved from the first episode... Pretty straight forwardly actually. This episode made me realize how Well they have explained time-travel; a thing I was really worried about when the show was beginning. All the characters except for maybe Kendra got satisfying amount of screen time as well. The way it all starts to come together left me so excited for next week's finale. If you or someone you know aren't watching this yet, now is the time: Tune in for the first episodes and have fantastic eleven-to-twelve hours.

Plot holes plot holes plot holes...

Warning: Spoilers
I have stuck with this series as I like some of the characters and the special effects are impressive for a TV show. But the writers need a good shake-up for season two.

Time travel and potential paradoxes give people enough headaches as it is but when some of the simplest things could have been sorted in 5 minutes if the characters weren't so unfocused on what they are supposed to be doing then something is wrong in the scripting department.

In this episode the Time Masters are (kind of) defeated and their power to affect the timelines is destroyed by the Legends.... But they still possess time ships (albeit temporarily disabled) so.... fix them and go back half an hour and kill Rip and the others they had prisoner - sorted! After all, the whole premise of the series is that Rip wants to change time. So if he can do it, so can they.

Why show Rip the secret of their power (which he has never known about)? They plan to kill him anyway so why not get on with it? Just because they want to show how petty they really are by taunting Rip with the knowledge that his entire crusade has been manipulated from the start? Oh please.... That's lame.

As I said, I have stuck with this show despite it's continual plot holes.... and, if they tighten up the scripting for season two, it could become so much better. We shall see.
