“There’s no one in this industry that has more bubbly energy than this young lady,” said “The Masked Singer” host Nick Cannon when YouTube star JoJo Siwa was revealed as the T-Rex on Wednesday night’s episode. Siwa became just the third contestant this season that the panel was able to correctly predict. Watch her performance of “Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)” by A.R. Rahman and The Pussycat Dolls above.
Panelists Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke can lift their heads high after piecing together the clues that Siwa was behind the T-Rex mask. Guest panelist Will Arnett thought the masked dinosaur was Olympic gold medalist Tara Lipinski while Ken Jeong continued his horrendous track record by saying it was YouTube personality Liza Koshy.

By the end of the “The Masked “Singer” episode on March 25, half of the 18 contestants will have been sent home with three apiece coming from Groups A, B and C. The remaining four contenders from Group C — Astronaut, Night Angel, Rhino and T-Rex — competed in this ninth episode, which aired Wednesday. One of them will be eliminated at the end of the show while the other three will continue on in the competition in the coming weeks.
Of this quartet, the biggest surprise has been the one hidden inside the T-Rex costume. She first appeared on March 11, and wowed the crowd with her energetic cover of “So What” by P!nk. Last week, she made the most of “Push It” by Salt-n-Pepa.
Keep reading as we’ve got “The Masked Singer” spoilers for all four of these contestants, including our best guess as to the real identity of the T-Rex.

Hello, readers! Right now, we’re dealing with a lot and I know for so many of you those concerns are compounded because you have little ones to keep safe and healthy (and even entertained) during this incredibly tense and scary time. Last week, I put together a list of light-hearted horror and sci-fi films that you can stream right now as you stay safely within the confines of your homes (you can read that list Here), and today, I’ve put together this massive streaming resource that I’ve cultivated with the younger genre fans out there in mind (especially if they’re not quite ready to make the leap to more “grown-up horror or sci-fi” just yet).
I tried to make sure to pull a sampling of shows and movies that would work for those of you who may have access to pay services like Netflix, Amazon Prime,...

Season 3 of “The Masked “Singer” has already seen seven of the 18 contestants sent home: three apiece from Groups A and B and one last week from Group C. She was the first of the six celebrities competing in Group C to lose the audience vote. The remaining five contenders — Astronaut, Night Angel, Rhino, Swan and T-Rex — competed in the eighth episode, which aired on Wednesday, March 18. One of them will be eliminated at the end of the show while the other four will continue on in the competition in coming weeks.

It might’ve been a Tuesday night in Hollywood, but the “Boomerang” cast, crew and exec. producer Lena Waithe were ready to celebrate “Waithe Wednesdays” at the Bet drama’s second season premiere.
“It’s a beautiful time, you know,” Waithe told Variety at the event’s green carpet, speaking to press for the third time in just over a week, after the events celebrating her role on HBO’s “Westworld” and her new Bet series “Twenties,” which debuted on the network March 4 with nearly two million viewers tuning in.
Speaking of “Twenties’” impressive bow, Waithe said, “To me, what the 2 million viewers meant was that society really showed us that they’re ready. They’re ready to step into this new chapter where intersectionality is not, you know, abnormal, but it is the norm. And I really felt that love and that support.”

Long before what is now referred to as the streaming wars began, Robert L. Johnson, founder of Black Entertainment Television (Bet) and Chairman of Rlj Entertainment, announced Umc — Urban Movie Channel, Rlj’s proprietary streaming network. Officially launched in February 2015 featuring “urban-themed” series and movies, the service, which is now known only as Umc, is part of a suite of channels and streamers owned by AMC Networks, after the media company acquired Rlj in late 2018.
A direct competitor to the more recognized brand in Bet+, which launched just last fall, Umc might be smaller in comparison, but it’s a characteristic that makes them much more flexible and far less averse to taking risks, especially when it comes to programming decisions. Additionally, having a five-year head start has allowed them the time to work through kinks that typically come with being a pioneer, which arguably gives them a leg-up when...

Fox has the #1 show of 2020,”The Masked Singer.” The key to its success is the format. In each installment, Nick Cannon introduces celebrities who sing songs while completely clad in elaborate costumes. At the end of an episode, the contestant with the fewest votes from the studio audience is unmasked and sent home.
That has been the fate of six of the dozen contestants that we’ve seen so far on season 3. Episode 7, which airs on March 11, see the last group of celebrities take to the stage for the first time. They are disguised as the Astronaut, Bear, Night Angel, Rhino, Swan and T-Rex.
A huge part of the appeal of “The Masked Singer” is trying to guess which famous faces are hidden behind these masks. Keep reading for “The Masked Singer” spoilers including the real name of the Bear.

As thrilled as the internet is by the recent news that James Gunn is back on to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the filmmaker still has a whole other movie to work on first. And according to producer Peter Safran, Gunn has no intention of rushing The Suicide Squad before he gets back to his Marvel series.
That being said, the follow-up to 2016’s Suicide Squad may end up feeling very reminiscent of one of the director’s McU flicks, not just in its central team of oddballs and misfits, but also in its inclusion of at least one extraterrestrial character. According to a new report from Revenge of The Fans, Gunn is currently looking for an actress between the ages of 20 and 30 to play a “monstrous femme fatale.” It’s said that this “creature” will be a “surly, muscular alien woman” who’ll likely require some heavy prosthetics.

Before he helms Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn is directing The Suicide Squad for DC. We’ve been told that this will be more of a reboot than a straight-up sequel to David Ayer’s 2016 movie, but another star of that film has now confirmed that they’re set to return for the second Task Force X mission.

African Americans love TV. According to Nielsen, it’s a demographic that watches 37 percent more television than any other. And the TV industry has taken note: Of the nearly 500 scripted series across broadcast, cable, and streaming, at least 60 are headlined by black actors. However, most of them don’t appear on Bet, Own: The Oprah Winfrey Network, Bounce TV, or TV One: 70 percent of the black-headlined shows run on other networks and streamers. All of which begs the question: As networks with significantly deeper pockets aggressively pursue the African-American audience, do black TV networks risk losing relevance?
Bet head of programming Connie Orlando isn’t concerned by the competition. “Across TV, Svod, and film, Hollywood is waking up to the excellence of black creators and the power of black audiences, something we have done for the past 40 years,” she said. “African Americans are not monolithic. It was all good just two weeks ago: WarnerMedia had just announced it was solidifying its ranks and Kevin Tsujihara was set to take on an expanded role as the studio’s chairman and CEO.
In a moment of nostalgia and celebration, Tsujihara and his wife, Sandy, greeted with a bear hug former Time Warner boss Jeff Bewkes and his girlfriend Lisa Carco at a dinner in Brentwood. The warm hug meant a certain passing of the torch, and an affirmation that with all the changes from At&T’s $85 billion acquisition that Tsujihara had emerged intact, with even more power.
But in the aftermath of a The Hollywood Reporter article detailing a sexual relationship with actress Charlotte Kirk and an ongoing investigation into that relationship, Tsujihara has stepped down, sparking questions about the future of Warner Bros. as the studio prepares for its new life under its new telecom owner.

KollywoodThe film’s story is, in parts, quite unimaginative with underwritten female characters. Anjana ShekarAtharvaa’s Boomerang follows a very conventional plot line, is briefly suspenseful and mildly interesting. An action thriller also starring Megha Akash, Indhuja and Rj Balaji, the film’s story comes with a message and a nice punch at the very end that justifies its title. While the film’s story is, in parts, quite unimaginative, it clings to two medical facts – it is possible to transplant a human face and excessive adrenaline can prove fatal. The film begins with a young football player being rolled into a hospital with severe burn injuries to his face. The rest of his body is untouched, and we learn that two of his other friends involved in the mishap didn’t make it. A news reporter even wonders if the accident was the doing of “evil spirits”. As the 2018 awards season marches slowly into its final days, only a handful of honors remain undistributed after some of the most volatile and contentious campaigns in years. Front-runners have come and gone in one major category after the next, as each guild and critics group announced different winners than its predecessors, demolishing expectations even among industry experts and turning a celebration of the cinematic arts into a no-holds-barred brawl for top honors.
But even as other organizations wrestle with the names, numbers and broadcasting merits of different categories, Film Independent sails smoothly toward its Feb. 23 Spirit Awards ceremony with a clearer mandate than ever to reward the effort put into a filmmaker’s vision rather than whatever PR narrative is constructed around it.

Halle Berry wasn’t immediately sold on the idea of a “Boomerang” reboot.
The 1992 romantic comedy, which starred Berry, Eddie Murphy, and Robin Givens, told the tale of cocky ad executive and insatiable ladies’ man Marcus (Murphy) who meets his match in his new boss Jacqueline (Givens) — an exec who treats him the same way he has treated his conquests around the city. Berry played Jacqueline’s quiet assistant Angela, who he eventually falls in love with. It was a role that launched her career.
So, when “Boomerang” TV series creator Lena Waithe approached the Oscar winner with the idea, she was hesitant at first. Waithe’s pitch was so good, though, that Berry ended up being the co-executive producer of the project.
