Kiss Me, Guido (1997)
Hilarious and Lighthearted
Plenty of confusion and misunderstanding creates a hilarious amount of fun and laughter! The confusion factor is similar to "The Wedding Banquet" and is even more fun to watch. Every part is played perfectly, especially the depressed landlady and how easily she excepts all their flattery (including the confusion caused between herself and the Guido's brother).
It's a movie you could watch over and over again with your friends - definitely a must see comedy!
Xi yan (1993)
Playful and Fun
The acting is great...there even appears to be a chemistry between these guys and the female tenant adds to the fun. It's a little similar to the movie "Threesome" without the sex.
It's also fun and interesting to see the difference in cultures (perceived and real) and especially the open-mindedness of many of the characters.
Watch it more than once and watch it with a loved one!
The Crazies (1973)
Strange and chilling
Definitely a cult movie.
The opening with the two children is frightening when they observe the deranged man thrashing the downstairs of the house. It is interesting to note the paranoia the military creates by simply closing off the town and placing the area under martial law. The threat of the virus in something as simple as water adds to the realism and horror for the group attempting to escape (and drinking the water along the way!).
It's a typical Romero film (even though it is only his second movie made!). Lots of scares, blood and shock - especially the granny with the knitting needles. It may be about 25 years old now, but it is still a good horror flick. Don't watch it alone or the Crazies may come for you!
