Hack My Home (2023)
And I thought I would like this...
...but as you can guess, I most definitely did not like this. There is no real connection between the hosts, somehow they keep bringing up MIT as if the designs used are wildly innovative, and they keep mentioning the hacks. Since when is a mini fridge that doubles as a side table worthy of the name "hack"? Because if so, I've got a desk that doubles as a table, I've got a freestanding closet that doubles as a table, I've got a bench that doubles as a table... my house is full of hacks apparently! God this show was annoying, I could not stand more than just the first episode. I was looking forward to some really innovative ideas, but there just weren't any. It's just another random time filler. Thanks for nothing Netflix.
If you've got nothing to do, and don't know what to watch, just go outside. Do something else. Don't be like me and think you'll enjoy watching this show. You won't.
Behind the Attraction (2021)
No depth, just one big commercial with horrible jokes
And here I was, thinking this would be more in the lines of "The Imagineering Story". Spoiler alert: it is not.
Who ever gave a thumbs up at Disney for these series? There is so much wrong with it. The first episode is just an elongated "Jungle Cruise"-the movie trailer, and somehow it does not catch my attention during any of the episodes.
The different episodes try to talk about what is behind the attraction, but just at the moments when you think "ooh, that is interesting, tell me more", they slap you in the face with a dumb joke and they move on to the next subject. It is horrifying to see such interesting documentary material be degraded by the company who thought of the brilliant attractions this series is about.
What a shame.
