Too Much! Everywhere All At Once!
7 March 2023
I consider myself to have a pretty open mind when it comes to film but this was just too much! Is all the hype surrounding this movie Hollywood's attempt to be more inclusive?

Too bad Crazy Rich Asians, which actually had a storyline, wasn't recognized with a few more Oscars nominations a few yrs back.

Yes. Every decision we make alters our lives forevermore and puts us in an alternative universe but WOW! Sensory overload!

I appreciate the overall message and theme of the film - Be loving and kind and be grateful for what you have. Accept life as it is. Not what it could have been.

Everything, Everywhere All At Once in my opinion is a BOMB!

Cinderella, My Fair Lady and Dangerous Liaisons all in one!

I l loved the costumes, cinematography and the acting was good but thought the casting was a stretch.

I really felt like Mr Malcom's List was a culmination of movie themes from all of the above mentioned films.

Not an Oscar contender but otherwise.

A good first effort Ms. Bialik !

A quadruple dose of mental illness!

How do you break the family cycle?

Is it part of our DNA?

The credits posted that the story and characters were fictitious but many will identify with the family estrangement - necessary for self-care , the care and responsibility of our aging parents and conflicts we face with them.

The acting was good and ending seemed encouraging and hopeful.

Resting B....Face
6 January 2022
Curious.... Was Monica's Native American name "Resting B.... Face?" I have not seen that woman smile once since episode 1 !!

I loved her grandpa's take on divorce . There's been a ceremony and you're joined for eternity.

I loved Beth's advice to baby brother but very out of character for the Queen of Mean.

Really?

Warning: Spoilers
This was the worst acting in the series .

A more realistic plot is Nick convinces the kidnappers he's been hacked, he's released and runs to the police. Nick says who he thinks could have been behind this. The police bring in the "new" suspect in for questioning, sizer their computers from work and home and they are arrested and convicted for cyber crime.

We would have still had the suspense of who was behind creating these online alias dating apps up until the end....the one person Nick confided in.

I would have rather seen a 15 min court drama of Dawn testifying " why she did it,".

Plus I resented the implication that seniors lives are so dull that we're up at night, drinking wine and stealing other's identity just for our own entertainment.

And those text bubbles!

If you're going to use them and screen shot multiple texts, leave it up long enough so we can at least read them!

The pain of losing their daughter was so real
25 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
**Spoiler Alert** I'm a grandmother of a SIDS baby who passed away in her sleep at 4 months old. The way that part of Dominic 's life was revealed to us was so real. Many people offered their "condolences" to my daughter & son -in law with advice "that you're young. You'll have another. " The storyline even got it right including the endless "casserole brigade! " The SIDS support group meetings seemed exactly what we experienced. Were one of the authors a parent of a SIDS baby? How could they know? The scenes were full of pain. The parents grieved the loss in diff ways and eventually parted , just as we saw in this episode. And Dr.'s Shaffer & Dr. Patel! So brilliantly acted. I saw Mark Ruffalo interviewed that he's worked on this project for 7 yrs! It's amazing how it was filmed with him playing both parts and no seams of split screens . Quite an editing masterpiece to realize that scenes with Thomas and Dominic together were shot separately but still no "seams."
