Squid Game: The Challenge (2023)
Suspenseful for sure
If you are a fan of reality shows, I think you'll like this one. Some parts are not as good as others but there are some parts that are very intense. A game show challenge for $4,560,000.00 is pretty cool. There are some very very strange people. Some with high anxiety like I have never seen before. Some of these competitors cried more than anybody I have seen. It's very creative and is binge worthy for sure. Give it an episode or two and if you like reality challenge shows you'll probably like this. I hope they come up with other challenge shows, I would watch them for sure. Happy viewing! I hope this helps. 😁
Beckham (2023)
Must see TV!! A+++
I actually feel guilty for how I viewed Victoria and David Beckham. This documentary shows so much I never knew about them. My daughter was a big Spice Girls fan so I knew about the girl band. I got the impression that Victoria was a stuck up, narcissistic snob. I was not a fan of football (soccer). I love hockey and American football! David Beckham to me was just a pretty boy who married a beautiful woman. I learned later in life that soccer is the biggest global sport on the planet and no other sport comes close. Don't always believe what you see on tv or read. I did know soccer has a lot of players embellishing situations trying to draw penalties (other sports have some of that too, but nothing like soccer. There are hilarious videos on the internet showing how ridiculous these players can be). What happened to David Beckham in the World Cup where he got thrown out of the game was unbelievable. Even the opponent he kicked said it should have never been a penalty. This changed the Beckhams lives forever. I never realized just how bad his coach and media threw him under the bus and then backed up a ran over him about 10 times. I cant imagine that type of hate he endured. David Beckham was HATED..... I mean HATED, and he never fought back. He accepted his fate and came back and fought hard (with everything he had) to become the greatest player the game has known. He had other set backs and fought through all of them. I am big fans of both Victoria and David now. This documentary was so good, I watched it then watched it again with my wife. Simply outstanding! Not many spoilers in my review, there is so much more and I bet you become a fan too! Happy viewing and thank you for reading.
Coach Snoop (2016)
If you like the "N" word, this one is for you
I watched about 20 minutes.... Double standard, hypocrisy and ignorance. Can't we get a positive role model for young black kids who don't rap about violence, use the "N" word in every sentence, and smoke dope? This is shameful and pathetic..... African American kids deserve better than this. If playing football or basketball is their only ticket out of the inner city violence, drugs, and gangs.... It's more of a problem than people know. If African American support this mindset, the problems will only get worse and future generations will be lost. Snoop Dog needs to quit the drugs and stupid talk and read a book.... Sorry not sorry.
Miracle (2004)
Incredible movie!
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. What Herb Brooks did was basically the impossible! To assemble a team of players to beat the Soviet Union in ice hockey was unheard of. He could have picked an NHL all star team, trained them for a few months, and would not have defeated the Soviets. He methodically recruited specific players with various skill sets and molded them into a perfect machine. If you follow hockey at all, you realize how amazing this accomplishment actually was. Kurt Russell plays Herb Brooks to a "T" and the other characters (assistant coaches, staff, players, etc.) are all believable. Quality hockey players who sell this as believable and realistic. I've watched this movie at least 10 times and knowing it was 43 years ago to, I want to watch it again. Herb Brooks was the perfect coach to pull of the impossible and nobody thought he could do it. However, Herb knew he could do it and where this was a will, there was a way. Herb pulled off the greatest moment in Olympic history.... Possibly the greatest moment in the history of all sports. A+++++
Messiah (2020)
This show was born too early.
I loved this series, I watched it in 2 days. Once you get started, it's sucks you in and takes you on a rollercoaster ride of thought. If this came out during the COVID lockdown, it would have been more popular and I strongly think there would be more seasons. That being said, the critics and whiners who don't want anyone to see what they don't like will complain about anything. This series was a masterpiece and I strongly recommend it. Great writing, great acting, great cinematography, very realistic, and I plan on watching it again.
No one will agree with everything in politics and religion so free your mind, and enjoy the 10 episodes. I think it ended just fine and I look forward to watching the IMDB Popularity rating go up!
The Last Dance (2020)
I'm not really a basketball fan but I've always liked and respected MJ...
I'm not a basketball fan but I always liked and respected Michael Jordan. My sport is hockey and Michael Jordan was like Mario Lemieux. How Mike handled his greatness, fame, and popularity was second to none. Having his career and life documented for all those years is priceless. I actually like Mike even more than I did before. Kobe and Lebron don't even come close to being compared to Mike. Sit back and be ready to watch an incredible journey on the greatest athlete to ever walk the earth. He makes you realize how arrogant and narcissistic all of the current NBA stars are. One of the best sports documentaries I've ever seen. Right up there with the Miracle (1980 U. S. A. Olympic Hockey team).
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
I'd give it a 9.7 if I could..... worth the wait!
I saw it in IMAX and it was very very intense. Predicable at times and a lot of similarities to the original. That being said if you liked the first one, you'll love this. The aerial footage and effects are incredible. Great to see Iceman make an appearance. I'm sure I'll see it again at the theater.
Bosch (2014)
Just couldn't get into it
I gave it 5 episodes and went looking for something else. Although the details were realistic the acting was below average, and I couldn't buy into it.
I'd rather laugh at the chaos and ridiculousness of Ray Donovan and his dysfunctional family than try to believe in Harry Bosch. It's hard to replace Mickey Donovan.
Flint Town: Two Worlds (2018)
Progressive Liberal Documentary Exposed
It's sad that people can be so brainwashed. If you can't see the liberal bias and anti-conservative media at work here, I feel sorry for you. The best part of this episode is volunteer Lewis Spears! At 65 yrs old, he is the kind of person this world needs more of. God Bless this man. Shame on the media and their devious hateful agenda.
Billions: Lyin' Eyes (2022)
13 minutes in opened IMDB
This season is nothing at all like seasons 1-5. It's jumped the shark. I'll no longer wait a week for the next episode. I'll wait until the season and series comes to an end and watch it when there is nothing else on.... I mean no Gilligan's Island, no Seinfeld, .... I'll rewatch GOT, Ozark, Soprano's, Entourage, and Succession before I finish this..... maybe the writers should re-edit this series to 3 or 4 seasons. RIP.
Billions: Cannonade (2022)
What a let down....
I binged 5 seasons and it did slack off a bit after season 3 but season 6 episode 1 was horrible. I'll probably only finish the season because it's the last chapter..... damnnnnn
Missing Ax and finally figure out who Taylor reminds me of.....
If Powder and PeeWee had a baby....... Sorry, couldn't resist.
Don't Look Up (2021)
More BS by the greenhouse gas emissions abuser
Even though it's basically a comedy, Its harder and harder to find a tv show or movie that doesn't shove their progressive liberal beliefs down our throats. Like the mainstream media, their bias, double standards, and hypocrisy makes 60% of the country sick. The Hollywood brainwashing machine starts in early childhood and some never gather the intelligence to see through it. If you are smart enough to realize this is science fiction and nothing more, you're ok. Leonardo, Jonah, Meryl, Al Gore, Joe Burden, Hillary, and Trump have a carbon footprint that is more the 1,000,000,000 people.
If you liked this try Independence Day & When Mars Attacks
NOT A SPOILER:
Jeff Bezos and The Rock save the planet.
Rocketman (2019)
Paid for the rental and watched 30 minutes and quit
Let me start by saying I really like Elton John's music. This movie however was a waste of my time. After seeing Queen (the Freddie Mercury movie), I was excited to see the story of Elton John. Being that it was a musical ruined everything. I just wanted the story of Elton and to see what made him into the man/entertainer he is today. I guess I was so blown away by the Queen movie, I wanted more of the same. This musical of Elton was a serious letdown.
Don't get me wrong, if It was called "Elton John The Musical", I would have never rented it. However I may have paid a couple hundred dollars to see it live on stage.
