Superchef Grudge Match (2023)
Guy Fieri without Guy Fieri
Everything feels scripted from that man behind the curtain, the executive producer Guy Fieri. It's his words through Darnells mouth, his judges from triple G etc.
A good thing is the secret ingredient, that adds a new element to the matches!
Some matches are good, but in 90% the feel-good guy wins, no matter the cooking...
The so called grudges are fake, they're all chummy buddies. A different name like challenge instead of grudge would be better fitting.
Same with the knives. Both chefs lies their heads off about how precious that knife is and how the would miss it, yada yada!
Only 2 judges and not showing how they voted is another thing they may consider changing if there's another season?
The Last Kingdom (2015)
2 seasons are good!
A bit simple yes, but an exciting adventure with mostly good actors and some good looking ladies. Season 1 and 2 held together very well, but then all was about done. The hero had survived enough battles for you to want to see similar stuff again. And with season 3 starting, some good actors are missing and some new not so fun are introduced. Time to call it a day.
Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber (2022)
Nasty guy in intense drama!
You just wanna see this cocky a-hole fail.
And the history of Uber is interesting in itself.
Pretty good characters and environments.
Mark Cuban from Shark Tank makes a cameo.
The show is so in your face you want to binge it!
Tournament of Champions (2020)
The randomizer is the best thing!
Even with an annoying and screaming host, the randomizer and the chefs kicks ass, and that includes the rotatinmg judges and sidekicks.
What these chefs comes up with in such short time is amazing!
Don't let the punkrock wannabe presenter put you off, because it's a really good cooking show!
Jade Fever (2015)
Everything is great + Scrappy Larry <3
All 7 seasons are good, they struggle, they fail, they find good jade now and then. The family love is warming and even includes the immature son, they know he will mature sooner or later. Lovely scenery, great jade and the big bonus with introducing the wonderful character Scrappy Larry (Larry Noel on facebook). Give him his own tv-show!
Marcus Wareing's Tales from a Kitchen Garden (2022)
Marcus is our man!
A favorite chef from MasterChef Professional (UK) pops up with his own kitchen garden and he is ever as charming and nice!
We learn and we enjoy countryside cooking with him and his neighbours. We learn about different breeds for animals and different veggies you may grow in your garden, or balcony.
Go on Marcus, invite Monica and Gregg for a dinner, let them work some too!
Snackmasters (2019)
I like Fred and the concept
Only seen first episode yet, so this review will be updated later...
Fred is an old favorite with his wondeful energy and french accent. Nobody can say "wafer pattern" like him :D
The Kit Kat challenge was fun :)
The so called comedian girl was totally bland though, shame when England have so much wit otherwise.
Giada in Italy (2015)
Giada in Italy is her best show!
You gotta love Aunt Raffy for standing up to Giada.
The beauty needs a beast to ease the cheese factor.
Love the interaction between them too, they're like siblings that love each other deep down but can't stand each other in everyday life.
Together with information about Italy and the food makes it great.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive (2019)
3 good seasons then crap!
Loved season 1, got hooked, and so well produced, you felt the speed of the car sitting in your chair, ace!
Season 2 still very good, still fresh
Season 3 also good... although the focus on stable bosses became a bit much, and the not following races in chronological order...
Season 4 starts with a full forced episode 1 but you already know the story that red bull will win by a technicality at the end... and then they keep on focusing on the stable bosses. I can't stand that Horner guy anymore showcasing his english house and spicegirl wife, he thinks he's as important as the drivers, yada yada. I gave up on episode 2. No more!
Gino's Italian Escape (2013)
You gotta love Gino!
This guy is as amazing as italian food and Italy.
He has the italian accent that makes you smile.
And he makes simple food with great ingredients.
He shows you hidden gems of Italy and tells you stories about the food and it's origin. Then he is so damn nice without being cloy.
Bobby and Giada in Italy (2021)
Just lovely and yummy!
If you love Italy and italian food, and if you're in LOVE with Giada as much as Gelato, then Bobby Flay is a good guy to have around in a cooking show.
You learn about food and Italy 'til you drool and end up smiling :)
NOTE: Have a good tv-dinner while watching or it's torture!
Showtrial (2021)
Bloody brilliant
Bloody brilliant with a posh british accent. Loved it from start to finish. Tallitha is a great character played by Céline Buckens. Tracy Ifeachor as Cleo Roberts is great too and many more like Talithas dad and Kerr Logan as James Thornley. The end leaves you gapping for air and a bit of silence before moving on to something else. I got tears in my eyes twice on the last episode, damn they got me, but it felt good too :)
Small Town Security (2012)
True Love for Lovely Authentic People!
This serie is a lot of fun, and soon you start to care for the guys!
It could be the transgender wannabe policeguy that's in love with the Queen of the show. It could be the caring husband with his odd habits and stick practises. Or just the Lady of the manor herself <3
Prepare to be amused, and prepare to be heartbroken as well!
Anyone for spicy meatballs? ;)
