Memorable Ride Into Darkness
29 March 2024
"Bringing Out the Dead" & "Training Day" - first movies that come to mind when watched "Asphalt City". However, this indie will definitely occupy its own spot as its just gonna stick with you for a while after your left the theater.

Both main actors did an amazing job - how they respond to different emergencies, unpack their bags, react to condition of their patient - outstanding acting that makes you believe both characters work at EMC.

Movie contains some nudity and can't say it was something really needed for the main plot, but given that this is a French director who filmed and move is an independent feature - something that can be accepted.

P. S. Ignore critics' opinion for this feature, if you would like to experience a dark and grim visuals, one-by-one tense episodes, disturbing soundtrack - and yet important life's story - this movie is a must-watch.

Great indie American drama
3 September 2021
Great story, maybe I'm little biased being a father, but the development of the relationship between two main characters, the story left an inspiring taste after watching the movie. Sean Penn is great in this movie, same Dylan. I was expecting little different editing of the film, as it does appear little as a "cheap" feature, for instance police chasing, or any "criminal" activity of John Vogel could be presented to the audience with bolder shapes, but overall, once getting into the point of the story, it's clear that not the package but its content has its most value.

Hope the movie will be well treated during Awards season, despite some mixed critics' film reviews.

Awesome European show

After watching just two episodes I already loved the show. Fares Fares is at his best, the movie is slow and gripping, with great atmosphere about isolated community. Looking forward for the remaining episodes

Almost perfect horror movie in "It Follows" style
11 July 2020
Loved the movie and suspense from the beginning till the end. Unless you're spoiled viewer with some pop-corn horrors, you should definitely enjoy this directorial debut. One of the best horrors seen this year so far.
