Both pleasant and compelling
19 October 2021
Ang Lee's 'The Wedding Banquet' is a romantic comedy that deals with love, marriage, hidden sexuality, and tradition. Lee does an excellent job of addressing the concerns that each character has in their roles while also producing a picture that is both pleasant and compelling. By balancing comedy and drama, Lee creates a picture that pulsates with the sensation of real life. An added insight into a full-fledged Chinese wedding feast customs will undoubtedly fascinate the audience.
