Faust is for me not the best French opera(that goes to Carmen),but it is great as well. This production of Faust looks very nice,though the scene of Mephistopheles in a dress was sorta strange and Marguerite laughing when Valentin dies. Roberto Alagna as Faust is very good and he has chemistry with Angela Gheorghiu ,who was his wife at the time. Angela Gheorghiu as Marguerite is very musical and lovely. Bryn Terfel has the most intetesting role in the story. He is suitably comical,cynical and seductive as the demon Mephistopheles ,plus he looks suitably scary .Overall,very enjoyable Faust.7,5/10.
