Breathe (I) (2024)

A humane film - can see why some usual suspects got triggered
12 April 2024
Jennifer Hudson, Quvenzhané Wallis and Sam Worthington are superb. Breathe is a strikingly thoughtful entry into the science fiction genre, distinguishing itself by exploring the themes of humanity and cooperation over the more typical narratives of conquest and supremacy. Through its brilliant script and heartfelt performances, "Breathe" encourages a dialogue about empathy, reminding us that education and understanding are the bedrocks of peace.

The relevance of Malcolm X in this narrative is deeply felt, as the film echoes his beliefs in the power of education to change minds and build a peaceful, collective world.

The film is a reminder that our strength lies in our unity, not our supremacy. Its message is clear: education and understanding transcend all boundaries, be they on Earth or among the stars. This film is a must-watch for anyone who believes in the transformative power of humanity.
