Get ready for that strange100% incomprehensible but endearing Japanese humour. That same feeling of incomprehensibility permeates the serious scenes too, where things happen that are so far removed from Western sensibilities that the viewer does rapid fire "double takes" while uttering "huh?!?Nothing quite makes sense to normal Western sequential logic.

I forgave the film it's failings at that point for its sheer audacity in totally dispensing with any semblance of Western thought patterns.
