Agree with some of the reviewers about an outsider (a white woman in this case in an Indian girl's tragedy) injecting themselves into the story to write about it in real life as well as fiction. I'm finding it more difficult to ignore. Admittedly, insider's perspective is not the only one to consider in these stories but hearing about the opposite almost all the time is not either. I'd like to get into the minds and hearts of real characters by writers who understand them well not just what happened and how.
