Warning: Spoilers
The film is undeniably a captivating masterpiece, though not without certain flaws that temper my enthusiasm.

From the outset, it draws viewers into an exquisite and heart-wrenching tale of love that feels almost surreal in its intensity. The depth and range of emotions portrayed create an extraordinary experience, elevating the film to a work of art. The portrayal of love, tinged with both beauty and sorrow, delves deep into the human condition, exploring themes of unrequited love and the profound pain that often accompanies it. One scene in particular, at the 1:07:30 mark, personally stands out for its poignant and delightful execution, capturing a moment of genuine emotional resonance.

A significant part of the film's brilliance lies in the stellar performances by Shah Rukh Khan as Amar and Manisha Koirala as Meghna. Their interpretations are more than mere performances; they are embodiments of their characters' innermost struggles and emotions. The chemistry between Khan and Koirala is palpable, infusing their scenes with a beautiful intimacy that makes their characters' connection feel incredibly real and profoundly moving. This dynamic adds rich layers to the narrative, driving its emotional core.

However, the film's complexity can at times be its undoing despite their technical excellence. While the multifaceted themes it explores are indeed thought-provoking, the narrative occasionally becomes muddled, leaving viewers unsure of the film's ultimate message. Additionally, some characterizations fall short, with certain roles feeling underdeveloped and lacking in clear motivation. For instance, Amar's character exhibits behaviors that are unsettling and ambiguous, which detracts from his overall portrayal.

Despite these shortcomings, the film leaves a lasting impression. A unique and exceptional work of its time. Its greatest strength lies in its ability to evoke powerful emotions, making it a film that invites repeated viewings. While it is essential to acknowledge its flaws, the film's artistic merits and emotional impact make it a compelling piece worth experiencing repeatedly.
