Murray Wants a Son
Hitchcoc21 February 2017
Even though the main story here is Murray's struggle to deal with having never had a son, Ted is the scene stealer once again. Of course, he and Lou's ridiculous sexism is over the top, seeing women as objects to produce their offspring. Mary was quite a torch bearer in this area. There is a really funny scene where Murray leaves his wife for an evening and bunks with Ted. Ted has so much advice to give but we can see his own insecurities all over the place. Sometimes Murray's personality, his whininess, is a bit hard to bear. He seems like a nice guy but indecisive to the nth degree. The episode has a pleasant conclusion that works pretty well.

Do you know how many times I had to get up at 3 am and tell Edie to go change the baby?

Brilliant story, believable reactions, strong jokes, many laughs.

Murray decides that while he loves his three daughters, he wants a son. His wife doesn't want another child. Then there's over population to consider.

All well written and acted. Murray isn't being too reasonable and gets whiny, but that's true to his character. Wonderful final scene.

Mary is back dating her employee, nice but dull sportscaster Andy (John Gabriel), though she was recently also dating John Saxon's character too.
