October 1962, the Cuban Missile Scare. Some folks in Cuba discover a crashed alien spaceship. But, it's from Gary's ex-fiance's ship. Rory has some big plans on finding Sara. He looks great with the glasses, giving me the Magister vibes. I am glad that Rory is more involved. I was saddened by the lack of him from the previous episodes. The Team eventually exits from their ship and arrives in the Cuban Jungle to see what crashed in Cuba. Rory gives the Team a signal to cover behind the bushes, he grabs out his flamethrower and "yeets" the two guys out of the truck. (( Sorry if I had to say "yeet" It's the only phrase that I can think of. )) Cruz (( I think that's her name who can hear aliens. )) is a bad-ass for firing an AK-47 on the guys. Wow. After the team finds a Soviet PR-122668 Warhead Missile, the team realizes that they're in Cuba, 1962.
In Washington D. C. 1962, the Americans get a map report on Cuba. They expect that the Soviets have high-tech. At this point, I'm kind of missing Sara and Gary now. Zari and Nate visit the iconic White House to meet the iconic JFK. I do love the 60s' fashion, though. I like the dialogue between Nate and the White House people.
Ava and Behrad (( I think I'm getting the characters mixed up with Cruz, I don't even know. )) do an autopsy on the Alien. I love Ava's accent, well-done. It feels weird seeing them wearing masks. Seems like the alien's blood color is grey. Interesting. Behrad dresses up as disguised as Che Guevara, haha. He visits the dude who does the operation for the Cuban missiles, thinking that it's Che Guevara. Behrad claims that he is not him. But, a cousin.
Zari gives out tea for the men, Mr. President gets informed that the Russians are accusing them of recently attacking Cuba. I like the General's performance, so far. Seems like the operation room somehow made the surgeons pass out. Ava steals the Alien. Eventually, the Alien awakes. Rory saves the day using his flamethrower, nice one.
I like the beard dude's chemistry with Behrad. I think it's lovely. The Soviets prepare the nuclear warhead missile to head for Washington D. C. immediately. Thus, declaring WWIII. Behrad makes a run for it since he has been caught for suspicion. He even steals the guitar, lol. By now, I wouldn't be surprised if the team rescues Sara in the finale. The Alien inspects the Soviet Warhead thinking that it's a spaceship. The missiles launch.
Back to the White House. I am loving those typewriters. I would like to give them a try someday. Zari helps out the men with the typewriter since they are slow typers. It makes sense why she's a fast typer because she spends almost her time on the phone, lol. The Crew of the White House makes a deal playing a football-style game to get the suitcase, hilarious. The General forces poor Zari out because of her gender. Zari eventually helps using her wind powers for the suitcase forwards Behrad. That was a fun scene. Wasn't it? The White House embraces impact. I am not sure if the bunker was constructed in the 60s. The General has enough of his ramblings, goes outside and fires at the incoming missile that is about to strike, and lands on him, killing him.
Rory finally captures the Alien to the Team's Ship. But the Alien isn't what she seems. Nate and Zari get out of the White House entering the White House or visiting Constantine's mansion. I completely forgot that Constantine is involved, lol. Looks like we got another crew member for the Alien!
Thoughts? I like how this has a serious tone in the first 30 minutes. It's nice to have a break from comedic episodes. But of course, there were humorous elements in the first 30 minutes but, they weren't majorly impacting the story. The story was enjoyable enough for me. Rory and Behrad were truly the highlights that carried on the story. Even, I like Zari better.
9/10.
