Wondeerful episode

Talk about good writing. Love all the character growth from Mick and Zari Tarazi this episode. That's why they are two of my favorite characters next to Sara and Ava. The touch of comedy was a nice touch too. S6 has been really good so far.

A Mirror

Warning: Spoilers
"Legends of Tomorrow" has never been a show for the masses. Alongside its other 'Arrowverse' counterparts, it is the oddball of the family. This show has always catered to a very specific niche. It's audience is mostly not straight, not white, or simply not what most would consider "normal". This episode was a mirror, the story's plot reflecting back to us what makes this show so great. "Legends" as a show knows exactly what it is, who it is for, and tells its stories unabashedly. The central plot of this week's episode revolves around a baby alien crash landing into a not-so popular hyper niche television show filming in Vancouver (sound familiar so far?) and what would happen if said show tried to make itself a marketable smash hit instead. At the end of the day, the lesson learned by all is that a show doesn't have to make sense to everyone. But to the people that do get it, it can be life changing. That is what "Legends of Tomorrow" is. It is a show for those who feel as though they have never had themselves seen before. It takes the underdog and not only gives them superpowers, but a found family, and a sense of community that is so rare to see on television. We live in a day and age where what sells are plot twists played out by straight, able bodied, cisgender, characters. "Legends of Tomorrow"'s core cast is primarily made up of those from minority communities, and it's storylines, while not all sunshine and rainbows, generally always leave the audience feeling satisfied. This is not a show that will kill off a fan favorite character just for ratings. "Legends" provides a sense of comfort for the viewer, never stripping them of their hope. Rather than choosing to illustrate the cruel pain of the world, it remains hopeful. Showing the audience that despite what you may go through, there is always light at the end of the tunnel if you just choose to look for it.

"Legends of Tomorrow" may not be the most technically advanced show on air. It may not be the most critically acclaimed. (We are talking about a mid-budget show on The CW after all). But what "Legends of Tomorrow" is is much greater. With it's cult-like following, it seems as though "Legends" is set to outlast other shows of the Arrowverse, as it now enters its seventh season of production. It is proof that what studios may consider the most marketable is not always the right direction. While this show is certainly not carrying the network, it is carrying its audience. In the case of "Legends" it's superheroes extend further than the screen, and are actually saving the lives of its audience; and that is what makes it special.

Mick is dealing with grandfatherhood, not fatherhood.

Enough with the stoned Behrad
XXniteXX31 August 2021
2 * rating because of Behrad, no one likes the constantly stoned guy, it totally ruins the show, like they're trying to dumb it down. Get rid of him or change his mentality for good.

Episode sucks

Warning: Spoilers
We can now blame television for the slacker stoner loser that is Behrad's character.

I probably could have handled the Mick is pregnant that is why he is so emotional storyline but the line his daughter makes about cohabitating with her baby-daddy because marriage is a construct of the patriarchy completely turned me off the show.

"Is this for the CW?"

Warning: Spoilers
The ship has detected something in Vancouver, Canada, 2023. Rory's daughter has randomly appeared on the ship. Oh, this is gonna fun! Or not. The Legends arrive in 2023. Sara and Spooner have spotted a meteorite coming from the skies. Spooner uses her gun. The meteorite goes in a different direction landing in the middle of a sitcom show. A random furry pink alien shows up causing a fumble. Rory gets angry over his daughter being pregnant. The Legends go back to their story to make a Plan B. Gary recognizes the creature. It's known as "Gus-Gus". Rory hunts down his daughter's boyfriend. Sara, Gary, and Lita spot him hugging it out with the boyfriend. We have a convo between the group dealing it out. "Oh yes, there were a lot of tentacles." Oh- oh my. Overall, the plot is nonsense. I'm sorry. In short, the Legends get back Gus, and they surprise Behrad's 25th Birthday. We get a happy last few minutes until the episode ends. Apparently, Rory got impregnated with an alien female.

Thoughts?

Not gonna lie though, but this feels like a commentary of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. It's like making fun of it and reminding the audience: "Why are you still watching it this?" I'm not interested in the main plot, it's not interesting for me. But I did get interested in Rory's plot between him and Lita. I do love Rory. I'm glad we're getting more of him.

5/10, it has decent parts to it.

Don't bother ... Gus.
ChuckM26024 July 2021
Or with this show. The theme of this season shows has lost its identity to the point of being sophomoric. I've watched this show since season 1. I've been forcing myself to watch each show this season with hopes of some semblance of good writing and passed themes but to no avail. So the time has come for my watching of DC's Legends of Tomorrow to be DC Legends of the Past.
