Legends takes a crack at being Pirates of the Caribbean

Warning: Spoilers
Amaya got a big boost this ep. The realization that she's awesome without her totem, thanks to Mick shepherding her along but not to the point of being a helicopter parent, was muuuuuuch needed, as was her scenery chewing enjoyment as a dreaded pirate queen.

Mick really is coming into his own as the sergeant Sara's captain. He's nudging each member towards what they need. And it definitely helps that he's also enjoying their stumbling around while they're at it. Heh.

Wally and Rip's excellent adventure was just that what with getting drunk, pantsing Gary, his and Rip's pretty good Careless Whisper duet, just to name some of their shenanigans. (Wally acknowledging Cisco, Caitlin, Barry and Wells' as team flash due to their expertise is some shade at how he was kicked off because of Iris and how unbelievable her place on the team is. Another reason why Legends is better than Flash. )

Ray (and Zari)'s time with young Nora bore fruit this ep, and while Ray's action falls into the hero being an idiot, it was still very much in-character. Hopefully, the writers don't muck up and fix this hole he's in.

Legends is giving me the Sara-is-party-pooping-den-mom-vibe. Her date with Ava suffered dateus Legenditus interruptus, of course, and for a bit there, I was horrified thinking they were lurching into Iris'-you-left-me!-land. But thankfully pirates boarding the Waverider knocked both ladies back to their usual kickass mode which also put them back in their right minds. *phew!*

Poor Zari gets sidelined again, but I agree with her: not feeling her new 'do.

As Pirates of the Caribbean was an ok movie series at best, this homage naturally isn't as great as the others, but it was still fun and there were a lot of in-character moments. Score: 8

The Bermuda Triangle?
nebohr19 August 2022
Yet another clever episode; this time, while searching for another of the missing totems, the crew pretends to be 18th century pirates. Mayhem abounds. We wouldn't have it any other way, right?

I just don't care about anything else in this episode. The karaoke of Careless Whispers gets 10/10 in my book.

Entertaining, and an overall decent fun episode however...

Warning: Spoilers
This is a unique show, I like it, I'm currently on this episode as I watch them in order. I am finding myself being pulled out of the show because of the way the writing is handled and how characters are developed and portrayed.

As for this episode... it's entertaining, and an overall decent fun episode but...

The problem I see is starting to become more prominent. Maybe it's a problem, maybe it's not... I'm not sure why there is a need to make all the guys weak in modern shows... except maybe Damien Dark who is an awesome evil guy.

As for our heroes... or should I say Legends... we have Ray, who is smart but ditzy.. we had Rip who has all sorts of problems himself and comes across as more weak as the show progresses. We have Firestorm with an old man and a young teen. At least the young teen isn't written so poorly. It was sad the old man leaving the show, that was written well enough.

Then we have every female character... powerful Sarah running the wave-rider now, a female in charge of the Time Organization, powerful females everywhere.

When are they going to get rid of Damien Dark and replace him with a powerful female too? I mean, can't have powerful men anywhere? LOL!

I don't know... maybe I'm looking too deep into it. The show IS enjoyable, it's just already pushing it's luck with the other issues with the show as others have commented on and then to start writing like this... I guess we can say the Berlanti Effect is starting to kick in to ruin this show as well.

When certain styles of writing takes a back seat to story and quality the show suffers. Kinda like SuperGirl, BatWoman, etc... Supergirl was GREAT in the first few seasons and then the writing was so dreadful by the time it ended I could barely watch the last 2 seasons.

Why can't we just have fun entertainment without all the modern nonsense crammed into it?

Well, I hope this show maintains it's quality as time goes on. I just want some fun entertainment. Why must modern writers ruin so many awesome shows?

I hate how they put things into shows these days that start to pull you out of the story because of disbelief.

How about having BOTH powerful people in shows... kinda like reality...

Ah well, this is the state of media these days.

If the writing was more balanced, I would give this show an 8.
